Don't you do any travelling? What a boon it will be to be able to go from country to country without having to worry about mulitple currencies, and what everything costs. Or being able to go to Ireland in February and Austria in March, and being able to take your currency with you. The euro is a FANTASTIC idea, and I can't wait to take it on.

I 2nd that! The euro kicks ass, except for those 1, 2 and 5 cent coins

Yes, the 50c being larger than the €1, and the 5c being larger than the 10c don't really help.

the euro is pretty ugly currency. considering that i am an american conservative, i think one can guess my view on the euro

Being American I'm stuck with dollars. Which are soooooo boring.

We introduced a new dollar coin last year but it flopped. Not "gold" enough and too close to our quarter in size. Haven't seen that many in circulation...

Now Canada has some kickin' money. Different colors, plus $1 and $2 coins. Really easy to tell what's what, too. Everytime I'm up there it's so easy to handle cash, especially in bars and such.

I like the idea of having cash you can spend anywhere in Europe. I'll just miss the UK notes - they're classy man! :p

I like the dollar [US], I can't think of another country where all the bills have the same color sceme and layout. And the bills are all the same size unlike some other countries.

I voted for the good old £ i dont want to change :( Maybe just the rest of Europe use the Euro and we Brits stick to the £
That way we could just exchange our £'s for Euro's and travel around Europe with the same currency whilst keeping our own .

Just a thought  one of my dumb ones probably :dunce: i dont pay much attention to politics anyway

the ero sounds like an idea, but it what a hassle right when it takes place, everyone would have to change there currency.

Well I think 10 countries have done it already, and there are so many benefits to all being on the same country - imagine if you had to change currency going from state to state in the US, or Australia. It's so much better that you can use $$ in all states, and it would be the same if you could use €€ in all countries in Europe.

(By the way, are you guys outside Europe seeing the €€ Euro symbol?)
