A collection of videos, which I shall be gradually uploading over the next few days. A fantastic days racing, despite being cold, about 8 new European records set, including the first 5-second run for Top Fuel bike outside of Europe.

Peter Svensson (mentioned above) in his very quick Top Fuel bike with me going "Woo-hoo-hoo, That's quick!" He got dangerously close to the centre line.

Mats Eriksson and Graham Ellis duel it out in Pro Mod.


I know a GTP'er (RACECAR iirc) requested some pictures, I felt videos were better, as pictures of dragsters aren't easy. Pretty happy with the quality of those videos, from my little digi-cam, at 680x480 iirc.

Some to look forward to include a lovely Top Meth Dragster race and Ulf Leander's backing up his European ET record breaking run in his bye run yesterday.

Got some decent pictures too which I shall put up.

Yes he was, and he managed at least 2 PBs although unfortunately he red lit and was eliminated.

Best of 9.570 @ 142.5mph according to Mrs Tig.

Got some more uploaded, need to go through the ones my brother took with my card on his phone. Need to edit a Top Fuel race, quick and involved a large smash. Alas for some reason in the middle of the video (before I realised about the crash) it's kind of half-staring at someones bum, so I want to split up the clip to remove it!

Anyway...

Ulf Leanders backing up his qualifying run to set a new European ET for Top Methanol Funny Car. Ulf is European champion, running a bye, but went for it!



Timo Habermann runs the quickest blown-alcohol run outside of the US for Top Methanol Dragster. Timo became European Champion with this run too. These "cars" will be running around the 6,000bhp mark. Methanol being not quite as powerful as the Nitro dragsters. A lot cheaper though, Nitro costing about £8-9/litre, and they burn about 12 litres per second at full throttle.



Dan Larsen running a decent run in Top Methanol Funny Car, Steph Millam (fastest woman in the UK!) has problems getting off the line. I have some close ups of her car from an exhibition she and some others did at our local airport.



Good race in UEM Pro Stock Bike, even if Ulf Ogge in the far lane did pull a red-light, thus ending the race then and there! Two quick runs though. Very expensive to race in, lots of very technical technology. Back in the early 80s my Uncle held the European speed record for this class, at 158mph.
