GT4genius or GTP_...
I know there is plenty of release date threads, but none are for europe. So i'm setting this up so as any news concerning the european release date can be posted here as soon as it is found out.

Also in the store update on Thursday a new video of GT5P came out. I was wondering is this PD starting their advertising campaign. And if they didnt release this video in the America Store does this mean that it'll be released here first before America?

I have a pre-order at Play.com that is slated for 28th March delivery. £29.99 delivered.
Is stated to be the PAL European release that will only play on the PAL system.

I was in a EB Games store in Penrith in Western Sydney (Australia) and there it is GT5P on the shelf for $59.99. Wasnt a display case as there was plenty of them and all ready for sale. Shame cause i jut got my Japenese version 2 weks ago for $61 delivered. If i had known i wouldv`ve held out for it. Thanks to those higher up the chain for giving us a PAL release date...would`ve be F*&^ing nice. :grumpy:

I'm quite sure they would have been upcoming titles, EB have a habbit of putting the cases on the shelf with the price and fooling people.

local retailer here has been told 27-03-2008 by their supplier.

What's that new video on the UK site? Is it the same video that commemorates Prologues release in JPN?

I havent watched it but I think it's much the same but with some extra london footage (going by the description).

Its the same video as the one on the gran-turismo site for each country other than Japan.

will Japan version of prologue still allow us to carry over cars money etc or do we need to get the UK prologue ?

Yes your probably right actually, given no-one has heard anything about the aussie release as yet. That is very sneaky of them to do someting like that..it totally had me fooled, the only thing that stopped me from running to the counter to buy it is that i already have the japenese version. I wouldv`e been mighty p*&^%d off if they told me "oh it`s not out yet thats just a display case" (with a price sticker on it mind you). Very mean of EB to do that. I might boycott them for doing that now :ouch:

Well I might do a pre-order from game and just wait until it does come.

Wow, what are the odds of that; that's my birthday and the day I get a PS3 as well. Hopefully EB will still have them in stock by midday then.

It'll be interesting to see how the online events work in the european version. Would they be the same as the ones on the japanese version?

Plenty of stuff could happen by then with updates happening each week:dopey:

interesting, in their description they mention a few things that aint in the Japanese prologue, such as,

Quick Tune facility allows you to adjust power, tires, suspension and more.

Photo Mode gives players the opportunity to photograph their car during the race where they can take advantage of zoom, depth of field and motion blur.

hmmmm, whats all that about then, i have the japanese prologue, dont see either of those in it??

Could be extra features coming with the US/EA release or they could just be spinning crap, like some places did with JP GT5P.

Saw GT5P on the shelf in perth the other week, all packaged up ready to be bought, i preceeded to ask the guy behind the desk whether it was an australian release or the japanese version. He said quote, "what country do we live in mate, of course its australian." Wasn't till i went to actually buy it that i looked on the back of the cover and is was all written in japanese!!! Gave the guy behind the desk a real serve after that.....

I just preordered it from Game UK, I trust them so the extra couple of pounds doesn't really matter to me.

Thats nearly the same thing that happend to me but the case was all written in english, packed up with a sticker sitting on the shelf with 20 other copies ready to sold.

See the thread "A Racecar Drivers perspective" the link has a release date of 3/18/08

Pretty much every UK retailer (physical or online) is stating Friday 28th March.

A friend of mine works as a deputy manager at a Virgin Megastore (or Zavvi or whatever they're calling themselves now!) and a couple of the trade magazines and memo's have been saying that their promo material should be arriving by mid-March. So 28/03/2008 is looking quite likely!

Finally i shall be purchasing a PS3 and keeping up my tradition of having every GT game on release day! :D

Australian PS3 site release schedule has it out 27th March....

I've just checked the Irish Playstation site and it says March 2008 the english one says the same. Oh well so much for a hoping it would be released in Febuary.

That'll be a first if it's released in europe before the US:lol: Crossing ma fingers on the 60 cars that are suppose to be included:)

Well, with todays announcement that Prologue is to be released April 17th in the US, i'd say the 28th March for Europe ain't gonna happen. :(

I'll keep an eye and an ear out to find out if there's any firmer information to come!

Although it's not officially announced yet, I believe that the EU release will be at the same date as the US release (or maybe just few days later to let the US be 'happy') because now that the PS3 is region-free for games, and thus, there is no real difference that I can think of between the EU & US (mph & kmh are any way a setup issue, money is 'credits')
The JPN is different story, it was released much earlier and probably was done in order to do some beta testing to the online gameplay. For me, the JPN version is GT5PP (Prologue Prologue), although it keeps updating constantly, there are a lot of differences between the JPN & US which I believe will be aligned iwith updates to the JPN.

Yer, with so many sources all claiming differing release dates for GT5:P, you are better off reopening this topic in another month. 👍
