Just wondering which option is more suitable for acquiring good peeformance.

Also does anyone have a base drag tune for this car? I couldn't find one on the tuning forum.

AYC will effect momentum through the corners. LSD will effect speed and exit of the corners, but not so much the entry or mid-corner.

Or I don't know squat.

You're correct, actually.

My momma said I don't need no book learnin.

Personally, before choosing either, make sure you are consistant. Without consistency, you won't be able to acurately measure any improvements or changes in the car, other than pure perception (which can be wrong). Once you've done that (I recommend time trials and racing a ghost), you'll be better equipped to judge your cars needs.

Also, often times, tuning ruins great cars, and the only thing needed in the first place was a change of technique. Racing the ghost could kill two birds...

Well actually for drag i would use LSD. But to truly drive a evo realistically use AYC. In real life a friend of mine has a EVO 9 he paid a lot of money getting it shipped from Japan, so he has AYC (buying a EVO in America doesn't have this) One of his friends will not admit that AYC is better for track racing, they got so competitive that their cars are almost identical in HP. Well the AYC comes on top every time on race tracks. After the 2.00 - 2.02 update for GT5 made the EVO LSD vs. AYC more accurate, which before these updates the LSD vs. AYC on those cars were unrealistic, and also in subaru vs. EVO the subaru's would win way more. But now since the updates, not as easy for the subaru's to beat EVOs

I prefer AYC as I feel it produces less understeer than the LSD, plus it seems wrong to remove the one thing that makes the Evo unique. The downside is that it seems to produce "choppy" cornering, for lack of a better term. People seem to think the LSD is better for lap times, but I haven't tested them back to back to verify this.

Thanks a lot guys for the input. What I did, although it might not be the best way to test it, was put my B spec Driver through the same 5 lap race 3 times. It seems as though he placed higher with the LSD than the AYC. I do feel like it does take away from the key trait of the Evo, which is its ability to counteract understeer around corners.

Felt to me as if it lowered exit speed of most corners. I think it impedes acceleration during cornering? I would only use it for very tight custom tracks. AYC makes an evo unique to drive too.

Also.very sorry i forgot to add this. One advantage to using the AYC and i was also told this too, is that when using AYC at the right setting you can use a high TQ setting such as 50/50 split and it will feel way better than with most LSD settings

You have to drive AYC a little differently to get he speed out of it - no trail braking, and have the car settled before you turn in - but yes mid corner speed/grip is increased (noticeably) - and you can get on the gas earlier as well. Took me a bit to get used to it as I typically use the brakes to start the car to turn-in - its much slower if you drive like that using AYC. I find you actually need to be a bit more precise with your braking, but can be more "sloppy" with the throttle exiting the corner.

Probably a preference thing, I don't know which would be faster around a track. AYC feels fast because it carries more speed - but you can brake later with LSD. Maybe I'll try it out and see.
