My finals are in class this year, we've been taking them since last Thursday.

Tomorrow I have:

75 mult. choice in Spanish (after 50 today, and the reading/listening last week)
Supposed to be writing a DBQ essay in Social Studies (was able to finish it today after the scaffolding questions.)
Huge amount of Math B
English (part 1 of 3)

Then I have a regents on the 17th, and another on the 24th (just before I leave for Pittsburgh. :ouch:) It didn't help that it was 95+ degrees when I took my tests today...

I just finished all my exams today, and the school year.

Tuesday was World Civ I Part 1 of 2 (both parts are 200 questions).

Wednesday was World Civ I Part 2 of 2 and Health. Regarding health, have you ever heard of an open-note final exam? If not, now you have.

Thursday was Biology, Geometry and Band. Biology was ok, it netted me a B for the year. Geometry was easy, I'm pretty sure I got an A but we haven't gotten the results back for Geometry. (or World Civ, for that matter) The Band final was playing in the school's graduation ceremony. It's about the most boring music I've ever played. Pomp and Circumstance... ugh.

Today (Friday) was German 1. It was the easiest of all the written finals (band being the only non-written). Including both the PALS and the multiple choice parts, I got a 156 out of 160, or a 97.5%.

Now that exams and school are over, it's time to bring on the summer!

:-)

Only the Physics Synoptic paper on Tuesday left, then freedom, copious amounts of alcohol, camping down the beach and a trip to Portugal.

Just, can't, wait.

I got into Chester Uni like I wanted :)

Hope you guys all got what you aimed for 👍

A-levels
Maths A
Physics B
D+T B

Needed AAB for Bristol, sort of expected I'd get ABB and thought/hoped I could beg my way in. No such luck.

Swansea Uni it is, abit too close to home for my liking but it's pretty damn good for my course.

Well that went a bit wrong.

English Lit - E I was expecting a U, so that's actually not all that bad  )
ICT - E How the hell did that happen? Although everyone I've spoken to in my class got Es and Ds when they were expecting As and Bs, so I can only assume it's something we've been taught that's the problem. Or they've been horribly marked, which is what happened with Media in January
Graphics - C I was expecting that, so that's fine.
Media Studies - B Again, fine, but one of the papers was a D :S
General Studies - C Fine, but it's barely a subject - more of a waste of 50 minutes a week that's forced onto us all.

So, not great, but everyone did pretty badly. And my main worry was graphics - I needed a pass in that to guarantee a place in the 6th form next year. ICT I can just retake. Oh and I would rather eat my own head than have another English lesson, so that E is ok. I seriously need to bring it up by next year, though, but then so do a lot of people I know.

Oh and congrats Evan and Danny!

Well done guys!

What courses are you taking at Uni?

(I'll watch out for you on Hollyoaks Danny ;) )

As much as I'd slide into the storylines so effortlessly, I'll be based at the Warrington Campus part of Chester Uni. So apparently I'm a 15 minutes train ride from Manchester or Liverpool.

Sweeeeeeet.

You think a D is bad?
I got a grade X on my Med2 coursework, so how I scraped a pass is beyond me.

Edit: This is a figment of your imagination, you did not see this double-post. Move on with your life!

Yeah, but that's not really a bad thing. Chester's a beautiful city, so it's a bit of a disappointment, but Warrington has many of it's own merits.

3 Starbucks in the city centre is a plus.

If you bump into Kerry Katona, please punch her repeatedly in the face for me.

If I bumped into Kerry Katona, there wouldn't be a face left.

Didn't sit the paper or made it void ;)

Bingo. Completely forgot my coursework resit until the night before, and then I was too tired to churn out 3000 words on the role of women in films with regards to social revolution.

I think I'd have got a U for that anyway... what an essay title! We went down the path of producing a film. Although it's essay time this year, but we've got nothing as severe sounding as that.

It was actually pretty simple once I got into it. The first time round.

Are these the A levels you all are talking about, or is it college exams. Because I dont understand the marking scheme at all. I got results from the leaving cert here this week, got my course with about 85 points to spare so I'm happy, but here there is A,B,C,D and then E,F and NG, you pass if you get one of the first 4 and an A is worth 100points, and so on, in an honours subject, the last 3 are fails, and NG is no grade, none of them for me ofcourse! :sly:

What is General studies? (Sounds fantastically un-specific). Don't get my re-takes till next Thursday. I know I've passed Science. None of it really matters in relation to college next year, but I'd still like to be able to gloat!

An MEng in Aerospace Engineering

Got a mate doing Aerospace Engineering at Bristol. I can't remember which level he is doing. One of the top ones iirc, he was always a bit too clever.

Spot on, really. In a nutshell, something my school is paid to make us do (allegedly). It's supposed to test us on our Newsnight-esque knowledge of the world. Think of it as a 'Preparation for Oxford' sort of test. The irony is, of course, Oxford (like most universities) completely disregard it as a subject. It is a complete and utter waste of time.

To be honest, random studies would be more appropriate.

I remember arguing in one of my AS General Studies exams about at what point a media text or artwork becomes a classic.

And then on the next question, the virtues of windmills.
