Hi, I recently bought this game, but mainly decided to stay in the Bronies section on Off-Topic. (Pretty cool guys 'n' all.)

But I just can't get into it. There's just...no challenge or excitement. Admittedly, I play my Xbox alot more than my PS3, but despite not liking Forza much, I still find it more fun than playing on this.

Even the other PS3 exclusives like Uncharted Fortune, and Resilience are kinda fun, but there's something to be said for the lack of impact. Everything's so "look at the shiny-shiny" with the graphics, that nothing actually tries to challenge me.

So does anyone know a way I can actually make this game a fun challenge, rather than obsessing over a 0.1% discrepancy in tuning that can lose me a race? Or worse, tune and pimp a car to the max, then get beat because someone just bought a Veyron?

Really am finding it difficult to play this game over Reach and Gears of War, etc.

Theres a million threads on what to do when you get bored or things that are challenging. Do a quick search.

I kinda agree on that, Coffee...

New games tend to care so much about graphics these days, that they become too bland...

Also, I would recommend taking those old, 100 HP Japanese cars for a spin, they always provide fun to me.

What Racedude says.

I recently started buying all the little underpowered premiums and tuning them to the max and trying to set hot laps. But that is what this game is about. If you don't really like it from the get go then the game is not for you.

Another thing to try is drifting. If you are not that great keep practicing and practicing. I didn't much care for it but that is what else I have been doing and it has been great fun! Learning to drift if tricky and trying to keep pace with someone infront of you without hitting them is awesome.

Yes. Go online.
+1.
Single Player is boring. Single Player is for collecting money and cars.
It takes a while to find a good lobby but you will eventually.
Even better, you might even join a group and race with them...

Play Online for a challenge, also there Racing leagues here on GTplanet.

Your comparing the fun factor of action adventure games to a racing game. It's almost like ur forcing yourself to race.

These threads are getting redundant.

Online's fairly okay...but it feels like I'm in a box with other people in boxes. I'm so used to PC/XBox gaming with a mic and some teammates to chat to. PSN from CoD to GT5 just feels so...empty. I swear half the population could be bots, and I wouldn't know the difference.

Except point capping, a bot would cap a point on CoD, an average CoD player would stand a centimetre away camping for that 1 1337n0sc0pzh34dsh0t.

Excitement boosting? Maybe your caffeine intake is burning you out... try clean spring water and fresh fruits.
Anybody that compares other gaming genres as their "substitute" for racing is somehow lost... you need to join good rooms online if you think your too good and board as a result.

Uh you can have a headset for PSN as well?

I actually hate coffee, but nevermind. One shouldn't stereotype based on one's moniker.

Anyway, I'll have a crack at online. Hopefully I won't get dropped into a lobby full of mimes again. Everyone says this is the best of the racing games out there, and well, I wanted something other than bang bang die that could give me a little adrenaline for a while...

@Brock

One day I'll meet someone who uses one...one day.

Most Wednesday nights at around 8est me and friends host a 500pp production car room. And all the regulars use mics. And we also have a fledgling series were trying to start. If your interested I'll be on in an hour or two, or just look for the room (probably the only one that says 500pp no RC/RM)
