the screens dont give the game justice though.

Mixed with sounds and the lighting and the looks of it when its in motion (40 - 60fps) its very nice.

in hard combat frames are about 25, and ive seen them as high as 180 in a tunnel or something. Normally sits in the 40 - 50's.

What's the shockwave?
 
I just love the airpulse weapon, if you can get the right aim on the head. It is a great kill to getm also there is a sniper rifle in game mate.

Also Vip when i next play F.E.A.R I get you a shot with lots of blood, belive me it will make you happy. Hopfully lol.

It spreads out like that and a big wave, like how the building exploded in the matrix when the chopper hit it.

Looks so sweet :drool:

Shotgun is fun because you can blow the enemy's limbs off with it and even their heads. Than you can play football with their heads. Errr, not that I'd do something like that, it's a bit sick isn't it? No, not me.;)

But unless it's close action the shotgun is not the most useful weapon, the assault rifle is my favourite and it's much more useful than the shotgun overall.

I'm still playing the game online religiously, it's just so addictive.

Wow that reminds me of the old PS2 game called Soldier of Fortune. For its time it was a great game and very gory. Guys screaming in pain when you shot their limbs off, blood everywhere!!
All the pics look great everyone. Keep them coming. I HAVE to get this game!! Are there still a lot of people online that play it?
The graphics look almost PERFECT! :dopey:

Hehe, it's a laser gun, I think, it makes a great sound and incinerates the enemy's flesh, leaving just the skeleton. Has a great zoom feature that gun too.

I'll try to get a bloody screenshot for your tonight when I get home. I run the game in x8 AA, x16AF, all detail on maximum with all effects on (including volumetric lights and soft shadows) at 1024x768/100Hz.

By the way, has anyone else finished the game yet? The ending is fantastic and the most realistic depiction of a (you know what;)) I've ever seen in a video game. Heh, I tell you, I didn't know which way to run when I realised what was happening, my girlfriend was cracking up with laughter seeing me panic.:lol:

SOF kicked ass but it wasn't that real looking. :guilty: This game on the other hand is the reincarnation of SOF! :mischievous:
 
I just added this game to my christmas list for my girlfriend. Shes been wanting to get me a game and this is going to be the one for sure. :)

Ive only got 4xAA and 16xAF all detail max, and all effects on (including volumetric lights and soft shadows) @ 1024x768@75Hz

How did you get 8xAA? and what FPS do you get?

I agree, this looks like a reincarnation of Soldier of Fortune and 100X better. I like extremely gory games where limbs fly off. That one gun looks like fun where you can cook all their flesh off and there is just a skeleton there. :dopey: :dopey:

I am gonna do it tonight if I still have it at home otherwise I will rent it again. I will get some videos. SOF will hold me over until I get FEAR for christmas. :)

I don't know what video card you have mate but on my Nvidia card any game's AA and AF settings can be overwritten in the Nvidia advanced controller panel. I also have a .reg file that's called coolbits2 and that also adds more features and options to the control panel.

I can't remember the exact details of the test but the FPS at the lowest point was 47 (I think it said minimum FPS). I'll do another test tonight and write down the exact figures.


My system:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (overclocked)
MSI Nforce2
Crucial 2Gb PC3200 (dual channel, overclocked)
XFX Nvidia 6800GT 256Mb (AGPx8, FW and SBA enabled, overclocked)

I use on-board Nforce2 sound in 5.1, I've added a lot of extra custom copper heat sinks throughout, modified the case, I also run a heavily tweaked version of Windows XP Pro. and high-speed SATA hard drives.

Most testing game I've ever run was and still is Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay Developer's Cut at absolute max. detail and best AA and AF it's the most demanding. Also the best looking FPS game I've ever played.;)
