F1 Cars back in GT6? (I admit, it's a stretch)

The F1 rumor mill is buzzing about Sony possibly becoming the title sponsor of McLaren. Now, as we know, gaming companies don't like to see their liveries represented in games on other consoles (hence no PS Oreca GT3 cars in Forza). However, if Sony sponsors McLaren, and if they throw a Playstation livery on the cars, and if they sneak a GT6 logo in there somewhere, there is a chance (albeit small) that the 2014 McLaren F1 could show up in Gran Turismo.

Here's a link to the article:

All this really means is that you'll see a Playstation logo splashed across McClaren's F1 car. Unless Bernie loosens the contractual grip that Codemasters has with the F1 license, I don't see it happening.

I dont really believe Sony is sponsoring or involved with current F1, this rumor is from a few months ago if I remember and is false. Believe me, I wish it were true, that'd be excellent.

As far as F1 goes, I imagine one of Senna's F1 cars will eventually find its way in as an update seeing as how its in the intro vid! Might not be soon, as the Red Bulls are taking longer than they said.

Agree. First of all, since the Sony rumor, Gillette seems to have moved back in pole position as main sponsor of McLaren in 2014.

Besides Senna's McLaren which is bound to arrive in the game at some point (most probably as DLC), I don't see any other F1 cars in GT6. Except maybe the Ferraris we've already had in GT5.

Which reminds me (sorry if it's already been discussed): where are those two F1 cars from Ferrari? I don't think there's a legal issue there.

The license for McLaren F1 cars is supposedly locked up exclusively by Simraceway. Even Codemasters who have the license for the yearly F1 games can only include the most recent McLaren F1 car, which is why their classic content in F1 2013 does not include a single classic McLaren. Although PD might be able to work a special deal to include the MP4/4 if they're willing to fork over a lot of money.
