No that's wrong, it's a game and PD are certainly capable of penalising that sort of driving if they wanted, if roper7 was pleased about completing the test, who are you to call him a loser however he drove, it's comments like yours that mark you down as a gaming snob, how big a loser do you have to be to put someone down over playing a game.

Agreed! Though you, and me included, see this as some degree of cheating, it doesn't mean we should put them down. Certaintly not go to personal remarks such as loser. What racing series allows you to take a shortcut? If that was a valid racing line, then the AI would take it too. A racing track is defined primarily by tarmac, and the white line going round it. The valid racing line is inside that line, on tarmac.

Fair play I called him a loser for cheating at a test and that was a bit overboard I actually meant to call him a crap player but thought it may be offensive and used what I thought was a more sensible title

My question to you on this matter is .. If the game allows that form of driving! then why does it give a penalty for an off or a car contact? and to flaunt the penalty by going into the red zone at full speed and keeping an eye on where the car will finish after the penalty is just doing what people have been doing with every version of Gran Turismo since it was released! ... they are flaunting the games physics and on this occasion against a penalty barrier they are just flaunting it worse than the previous versions .. because PD actually tried to implement something into the game to stop players playing the game they released in such a sloppy manner, but obviously the crap racers will find a way in the end

Wow, how come that the penalty system didn't recognize the actions? That were some huge cuts ^^, and a bit of wallriding.

HERE you can see an example of driving legit (and not getting Gold, but silver). 1 or 2 slight bumps on other cars, but overall clear.

At the end, this is not a good video to start here i guess, since wallriders are not very beloved in such communitys.

Grow up, how is he a dirty racer? If he wants to get past a test and cuts corners, how does it affect anyone on here, I wouldn't advocate it online or with friends but it harms no-one if he feels he needs to do it to pass the test, how about all those people downloading the save games, are they all losers in your eyes, it's worse in mine, he tried and cut corners to pass, others just used someone elses hard work.
Get over it and get back to making up website names, how very mature.

You can post wherever you want, but if you break the rules doing so, I'd expect a comeback, swearing in another language doesn't make you immune to the 'no swearing' rule, it does make you again look very childish if as opposed to coming up with a reasoned response, so far, you've called someone a loser because you disagree with their methods of passing a test, admitted that you were going to call them a crap player and told me to 'go **** myself' and to cap it all, you then you use the classic forum method of saying it will be your last post on the subject as if that somehow means you leave with the moral high ground.

I take these comments with a pinch of salt and actually find it quite funny in a way that it can cause such a issue.
I don't find it cheating as the game allows you to do it and ............. it is only a game. If it wasn't allowed then the game should be set up to make you restart if you cut corners.
I posted it with the feeling that there was many other players out there struggling with this track and had not seen many other solutions posted here on this site. (maybe so called better players don't like sharing the fact they had done it, and even offering to share how to do it)
The point is it is a game, not real life, not real AI etc etc - I'm sure there are plenty of people that may use the 2 min information I put together to achieve gold.

P.S. to finish off I do take online play seriously, play properly and finish races/contests etc and not quiting in any game I play. Online affects us all, my gold just affects me.

P.P.S I was out playing football for my local side today to reply.

If you can't register displeasure without resorting to childishly putting insults in a foreign language so that the mods won't realise, then don't post, it's strange how no-one else needed to start shooting their mouth off making insults, yet still made their point. Those that shout loudest have very little to say.
But hey, there you go, we've both made points, people will choose who they agree with, there are numerous threads that I completely disagree with, but I don't see the need to insult those who have a different opinion.
It's also frowned upon to take a mods private message into the public arena by the way.

Just to correct myself, since my comment seem to have got out wrong.

I don't like that way of beating the test, nor do I use it myself, BUT if people wish to use it in a race were other people are affected, I think they should feel free.
The online bit came in after my comment, and I agree that online play dictates strict fairplay from every player. So unless somebody rams me repeatedly I get mad but write it off as an honest mistake.

I think the discussion took a wrong turn, and if my replies contributed to this I apologise, since that was not all my intent.
Guess I'm just cought between both sides since they both make reasonable arguments in my mind.
