<3 my silenced and lightened sniper rifle

I just took out 15+ Legionnaires from a slave camp from a ridiculous distance. 1 hit one kill every time. Not bad for 7000 caps...

I did that last night with my new sniper companion. Good fun. The only thing better than the silenced sniper is the .50 cal anti material rifle. That thing is beast.

I'm beginning to think that this game wasn't finished properly.

Don't get me wrong i'm liking the game, but i have came across 3 sidequests that i cannot(or will not let me) finish due to the game being this way

So now that its been out a while, I'm starting to hear about the freezing issues from the first one being the same or even worse, with some people reporting 3+ freezes an hour. Is this the case, or have they released a patch for this yet?

I'm really interested in getting the game, as I've taken on all 3 prior Fallouts, but if the freezing from the 3rd has actually gotten worse, I may sit this one out.

I would wait.

I've heard of people losing their progress(on the 360) due to the first patch causing the save file to somehow become corrupt.

I've still yet to see a patch for the PS3(US).

So far i've had 1 freeze, had 3 sidequests not able to finish due to bugs, and everynow and then it will get very sluggish when a lot of people are in one area(mainly towns). This is from playing 28 hours worth.

I'm 20 hours in on the 360 right now, and have yet to experience any freezing. If you like Fallout, get it.

To me, it seems no more buggy than any of its predecessors. The worst I've experienced so far is enemies getting stuck in the ground.

I liked some of the enemies getting stuck in the ground because they couldn't harm me but I could them :D

Ok something really strange happened.

I went in to the tops casino with my two followers (one's an animal) and then when I surrendered my guns (normal) my followers disappeared?! It's been about an in game week and they haven't returned :grumpy:

Anyone have any ideas? They were ultra helpful I really need them back.

Side note: I have over 20 000 caps in 'cash' now and I've worked out how to steal from the gun dealers :D

I got bored with my pathetic capgun weapons so I gave myself a Laser RCW via the console. Awesome gun is awesome. :D

Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll keep an eye on it, and hopefully by Christmas I'll start hearing better things.

I hate this thread though, reading about everyones "adventures" kinda makes me want to play it now.

just hit level 10 and so far I've only had one freeze and a few other minor glitches. The only think that's really bugging me right now is the weathered pistol glitch, I put a laser sight on it and now it appears as a giant red box with an exclamation point on it around my character... Hopefully we will see a patch for that soon. absolutely loving the game so far though and I haven't even been to vegas yet.

After about an hour of anticipation and suspense, along with quite a few battles, I finally made it into the Vegas strip last night. Seeing the bright lights from outside the gate was torture. But it sure was rewarding once I got inside!!!
I even posted a few pics.

I think I made a small mistake in Freeside...at the Silver Rush (or what its name was) shop.

I ran through the gurads :dunce: and everybody started to shoot at me...so I ran outside and the game (of course) auto saved, and I had not manually saved at any point before that.

So my question is...can I still get in to The Strip without problems or is the whole damn place filled with these gang members who want to shoot me on sight?

thank you for the answers

I did the same thing. And my most recent previous save was several hours before. It was a really hard battle, but I just killed them all and looted the store. Frag Grenades/mines helped a lot as they have some pretty tough armor.

I don't think they'll forgive you either, because I went away and did several long quests after that, came back many game days later, and they still attacked me. You could also try going into the building across the street from the silver rush, as the clerk in there can repair your reputation in town...however I'm not sure if it works or not.

I realized the thing about the clerk after I had already killed all of the silver rush dudes.

I just went deathclaw hunting with my anti material sniper rifle. Those things are scary.

My peeps still haven't returned :(

Bad decision. You've made it really hard for yourself now

I see. Thanx might have to try that!

What level were you on when you beat them?

I was level 14 with two companions...it was still hard.

You do get a TON of awesome energy weapon loot once you beat them, though.

Also in the box behind the guy guarding the door, there is some pretty powerful armor, may help you in the ensuing battle.

I'd definitely give the thing a shot in the building across the street with the guy who can repair your rep before fighting them. I was kicking myself when I noticed that AFTER I had killed everybody in the store.

Ok..I'm on level 10 myself...with only 1 companion...so at the moment I'll be mincemeat if I try to fight them! :D

oh well gotta check out the shop :)

Everyone seems to be charging a head in this game. I have a pretty busy schedule so I’ve only managed to put on about 4 hours so far, although I would like to play considerably more if time permitted. I made it to Primm & then to the correctional facility. That was fun. I find that it’s a nice touch that you don’t seem to gain infamy with a group if they don’t know that you are the one that has been busy picking off their members in sneak attack from miles away with a silenced rifle. Things change pretty quick however when you stroll into the centre of the facility with the incinerator  what’s left of the group (if any at all) don’t like me much anymore.

Is it possible to wipe out the entire Powder gangers group (or other factions for that matter) & if so, would that technically remove the vilified reputation rating on that location?

Personally I found the strip dissapointing when I entered.

Interestingly I found I gamble in New Vegas much the way I gamble in real life. I spent 10 or 20 caps (I forget which) on chips, lose them right away and never gamble again.

Even the free chips I have received I haven't gambled.

I got a massive FPS hit when I entered the Strip. Probably due to the fact I'm playing it at 1920x1080 on ultra with 8x AF, but still. It runs at 40+ fps everywhere else. :dopey:

Protip: Save your game, buy chips. lose chips? load game.

Repeat until you win big.

I had the same problem, and found my followers in the Lobby of the Lucky 38 (I have a suite there), so maybe have a look there?

Cheers, I'll give it a shot

Same thing here and I'm running crossfire 5870's! This game is just poorly put together.

Boooyah!

Smoked the gang members with my Annabelle and my companion Raul (though he was unconscious for the most part of the fight  ). But I got smoked when I went in to their shop.

Went to the building across the street and "purified" my rep..sadly (for them ) it did not help with the gang members.

I've also noticed that I'm like a little scared girl when I play the game  ...this game really is not good from my mental health
I hate to enter vaults, mines and other stuff thats under ground....and the sound of ghouls gives me chills down my spine everytime...man what a p**** I've become

It'll definitely be worth going back in and taking out the guys inside the shop. That place sells the best energy weapons in the game.

My guy has a really high luck rating, so in turn things tend to go my way in the casinos, I made 5,000 caps in a matter of minutes on blackjack.

I have not gambled yet at all in real life or in the game yet. I was just excited to finally see some color and bright lights in a Fallout game.

I am playing on pc and have had the game freeze a few times. There was also a bug where i would enter the Tops Casino with my companion and dog, where they normally stop you to take your weapons, the game will stop me, the guy won't ask me and i'm not able to move or do anything. I can look around and crouch, but i am unable to proceed. Reason i mentioned it is because it happened to me 4 times. After the 2nd time i save my game before going into any of the casinos before they stop you, prompt you to give up your weapons. Besides that i have completed the game. I think fallout 3 story-wise is a much better game. I felt more involved. I think the DC ruins and surrounding area was more enjoyable for me to explore than he mojave desert. The strip is pretty cool looking.
