DDs Steering wheels and cockpits.....
No pedals.... (New Clubsport pedals on the way? aka the fourth new product ?)
Been waiting for BF to be a new Fanatec user? Upgrading from an older belt drive wheel that you’ve used forever?

Some advice as the Fanatec team is still struggling with their new all-in-one app and other FW issues for DD’s and wheels
  • The latest FW is NOT always best for your config - try it as shipped FIRST and then look at the forums for fixes or features
  • Avoid the app if possible - lots of bugs - and use one of the older driver packages for setup either 455 or 465 found on the fanatec forum
  • If you’re on a console the PC sw is only used for calibration, FW install, and configuring some features like pedal max mins
  • the console controls the connection w the game so driver version will not affect gameplay only FW. On a PC a driver is needed
  • Each component can be upgraded individually - you do not need to have all using FW from the same driver to match
  • Some products require minimum wheel base FW versions to be recognized: HB V2, Porsche Vision GT wheel, and the new CSL GT3 wheel
  • The Podium button module Rally still has issues that are waiting for a fix - it has never worked 100% since release
  • The Formula V2.5 has shifting issues that may be resolved soon but the original FW works ok
So if it works fine for you out of the box stick with it for a while and learn more about it

I've been waiting months for this sale, I was hoping that the podium advanced paddle module would be included

I am Fanatec user since 2017.
I have purchased and have used many Fanatec products since.... Nothing is new to me .
Also i have been through every single one beta driver since 2017 for all of my products.
Also participated in the DD+ exchange program.

I just mentioned the BF deals.

I personally wait for the upcoming new Clubsport pedals

Sorry if the intention of my post was misunderstood - just advice for any NEW users waiting for a deal to jump in and not meant to be critical of you. Thanks for posting the information regarding the sale

Before Project Motor Racing comes out, I need to figure out how to assign settings to games in the Fanatec App. Also at some point I want to get Assetto Corsa EVO when the full version is ready and probably LeMans Ultimate at some point. So I need to figure out how to have more than 5 presets.

Right now I have F1 24 on preset 1. I have it through Steam
AMS2 is on preset 2 and it's through Steam
Assetto Corsa is on preset 3 and even though it's shown on Steam I launch it through AC Content Manager.
Preset 4 is Forza Motorsport and it's through the Xbox App on PC
Preset 5 is Assetto Corsa Competizione and it's through Steam.

The page on the Fanatec App looks like this.

What does it mean by "Enabling Support Required"?

You have to click on the little car icon. That takes you to the game profiles. All of your games are currently set to naitive support. You need to give Fanatec App access to the game profile.
Fanatec App
I attached a Youtube video. Skip to about the 2:00 mark.

The video doesn't cover it either. I followed the instructions for AMS2 so it got rid of that enabling support required message, was on a different preset, launched AMS2 but the wheel was still on the previous preset. So it's not recognizing it's assigned preset. I commented on his video so maybe he can explain it.

EDIT He answered me back on YouTube, he doesn't know how to do it either.

You can save as many profiles as you like on your PC and just load them up ftom the app, this is done using the game profile managment tab, the loading isn't very intuative, the button is hidden and you have to scroll down to it, it really needs to be moved into the my profiles area on the left side.

I only have the yellow support bar for AC Evo, I just clicked on one of the two options (use fanatec app support / use native game support) in the other titles and it disappeared.

Where do you save wheel presets on the PC? I didn't know you were supposed to do that. So anytime you make a slight change on the wheel you have to go and make the same change on the PC?

I never make changes on the wheel only in the app, saving and loading is done in the game profiles tab.

In the video, there's a + sign to add a custom profile. I'm pretty sure you have to load the profile from the app after you launch the game. I also thought I saw a specific car you can link to the profile. I'll mess around with it tomorrow to see exactly how the profiles are saved / loaded.

I just made a few profiles and it worked in AMS2.

Click the profile manager icon (car). Click the Add + box to add a new profile (if the Fanatec app is maximized, it will be a box that says Add +. Minimized, it will just be a +. This will basically make a copy of whatever profile settings number you have loaded on your wheel currently, so make sure your AMS2 game profile is loaded on your wheel so you don't have to make any major changes. Click "save". It's to the right side of the cars you can link the profile to.

Now go to your tuning menu in the app. The tuning menu will also tell you what profile you have loaded that you created. Here you can make changes to the wheel while your racing. Technically, you can do it from the tuning menu of the wheel base / wheel, but the app makes it easier to see everything at once. Once you're done going back and forth between the game and making tuning changes, save the changes in the tuning menu on the app. It will apply them to the profile manager name you created. You can create as many of these as you want, and when you have a good feel for a specific car, just check the car and add it to that specific profile you created.

You can literally pause the game and switch profiles on the fly. You just select the profile and click "load". It's right next to save. I tested it by making 2 profiles. One with 50% ffb and one with 0%. It worked great.

It will be tomorrow night before I can try it but we'll see what happens. But if your game is on Steam you can't hop out of the game without getting completely out of Steam right?

I'm not really sure what you mean. Steam is just a launcher for the game. Technically, after you launch the game you can just minimize Steam and not worry about it. Once you pause whatever SIM you're on, you can just hit the windows key on the keyboard and bring the Fanatec app up on the monitor from the Taskbar. I'm on triple screens so it's pretty easy for me. You can even put your game in windowed mode while you're making adjustments. That will make switching between the 2 a little easier.

I've never tried getting out of a game once I'm in it. Except Assetto Corsa since I use Content Manager for it and my taskbar is always visible in the menus. Anytime before I've been in AMS2 and wanted to get out and do something I've exited completely out of the game and then relaunched it, that's the only way I knew how to do it. I'll have to give the windows key a try.
