Isnt it sad though, that we cant even be sure the boxed item works?

I'm not really to worried about it working, I just don't want to deal with the hassle if I ever do need service. Nobody responds to anything over there. It amazes me they sell wheels at all. Not sure why I even bought one from them to be honest...lol.

This does not bode well for Fanatec. There are customers that will buy either Fanatec or Thrustmaster based on 'who will deliver first'. Now with this May delivery crap for the US? If I were a stockholder, I'd be pretty nervous.

just got an email from Fanatec. bad news guys delayed t'ill February. they will start shipping in weeks 7 and 8 in both EU and USA

@DaveTheStalker
The direct competitor would be the GT3RS and we are currently shipping all orders of the GT3 and have enough inventory.
Our shareholders get nervous if we cannot sell our products due to low demand but that is certainly not the case. Of course we will lose sales and I wish we did not but it is hard to plan what will happen 6 months in advance. And if you ask around i guess you will find more people which expected better wheel support in GT5 for the other wheels.

Our tuning functions and superior compatibility make the difference now but who would have guessed that 6 months ago?

I just updated my blog and informed all GT2 customers with open orders by email about the latest news.

Dear racing fan,

you have ordered a Fanatec 911 GT2 racing wheel and we announced delivery in January. Unfortunately there were several delays which are causing a delay for the whole shipment to February. We will start shipping the wheels in week 7 and 8 in both EU and USA. This is independent if you ordered a regular wheel or the ClubSport edition.

We tried to ship the ClubSport edition earlier but it was technically very difficult and there was a high risk to cause more delays and shipping errors. So we decided not to do it and focus on a proper shipment of all open orders altogether.

The first wave of CS editions was sold out quickly and the problem was to get enough of the shifters and pedals. This is why some customers already received the regular version of the wheel although they sometimes ordered at a later date.

Of course we will bring in the products by airfreight at much increased cost but the production is too late.

All wheels are now sold out until mid of February in the EU and even May in the USA.

We learned from this situation and will offer the Clubsport editions only if all components are there. And of course we will continue to increase production.

We will ship it from CA in the USA and from Germany for Europe so please calculate a few date until it finally arrives to your door.

I know you are desperately waiting for this wheel and this message must be a big disappointment. In order to compensate you a little bit we decided to send you a free headshot controller mouse with your order.

Of course you are free to cancel your order at any time and get an immediate refund but I would be glad if you wait and enjoy this fantastic product.

All the best,

Thomas

i for one am done dealing with these clowns. i am asking for an immediate refund, if i do not get it within same day, i will file a paypal complaint as still within my 45 days since transaction.

Horrible news from Fanatec.

Those that ordered in December regardless will not have a single piece of their order shipped until Week 7 or 8 which puts us in the third or fourth week of February. Meaning those in Canada will not see product in hand until March.

Wow, I paid early and mid December in full.

Extremely disappointing, perhaps they should upgrade Canadian orders to UPS Worldwide Saver shipping, cheapest option above Standard. USPS is way too slow. UPS Worldwide Saver includes brokerage fees. Duty and tax if applicable is of course always extra.

Got the email and I'm slightly bummed but I have no choice but wait it out...doh

When u said week 7 or 8 = week of Feb 13 or 20? Meaning I prob won't see this wheel until March...that sucks big time

sweet my Thrustmaster is scheduled for delivery Jan 15th

so glad this happened now, as i would dread having to deal with aftersales if there was ever an issue with Fanatec. Pre-sales service was the worst i could have ever imagined, it was beyong believable. I still don't but as far as i am concerned Fanatec is a distant memory 👎

Yeah got that email today as well, I hope this wheel is worth the wait. I am going to be very mad if I get the wheel and it ends up not working with my xbox like one of my friends on live.

Fanatec already sold out. T500RS will be sold out in short order.

So if ive read thomas post right, i should be getting my gt3 by the next week if its all in stock

I would not bet on that, I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and even though they have it in stock I still get nothing and Thomas meant end of january...

Well, not shipping until end of january would just make things more complicated with the GT2 meant to be shipping then aswell in my opinion. If i was running the business, i would have the GT3's shipped asap, so i could concentrate on the GT2,

Thomas,

Thank you for the email update, sad but that's life I guess.

One question. Can we substitute the free mouse for something of equal or lesser value? I would prefer either the CS tuning kit (same price) or just the CS color kit of our choice?

Thanks for your email Thomas. I appreciate your efforts to keep us informed, even if it is bad news. I am still debating canceling my order. I don't mind the wait until February now since I now have a backup steering wheel (G27). But, you have still not addressed my main concern below, quoting my own post earlier:

Fanatec,
Hope that helps, and I hope you give me some feedback. I would specifically appreciate it if you would address the quality issues of the GT2 and what Fanatec has done or is doing to mitigate these production problems. I really don't want to wait until February only to receive an imperfect product, then wait to get a hold of the right tech support guy, and then wait for shipping all over again.

Thank you and best of luck.

What quality issues? I am sure there are isolated instances of products not functioning properly. With any tech product, there always are some duds. That being said, I do not know of any sort of widespread issues. Is there a RROD that we are not aware of? My GT2 has performed well.
