Is the Fanatec warranty transferable to the person who buys the wheel/pedals second hand?

I'm wondering the same thing.

I also wonder if like most items you buy if you can return these items for a full refund within 30 days. Just curious not saying that i want to, yet anyways, lol.

Not a full refund. Plus shipping costs to wherever it needs to go and you won't get your initial shipping cost refunded either which is standard unless defective.

Here is a link the the return policy page on the Canadian webshop.

Sure the GT3RSv2 CSP is a great deal... but how about a smokin' deal on the GT2 for us PS3/X360 owners? And how about some ClubSport Shifter info? I need a reason to lose my mind waiting too, dammit!

While awesome, I wouldn't say no to a credit of some sort on my purchases.

I doubt they'd want to generate a flurry of new sales. While good for them in terms of revenue and cash flow because of the pre-order process. It would provide for an extremely poor customer experience given they can't meet demand in the current environment.

Oh sure, I'm just yanking his chain anyways. I know Fanatec is getting beat up pretty bad right now, because of the kind of high demand that small companies have trouble dealing with, but 'ol Thomas is still out here selling his wares, because that's what you gotta do to make it these days. So you never know, deals to be made, sales to be had...

If anything the most effective business plan for them at this point would be to raise prices.

This would lower demand to levels they can meet as well as reducing the impact on their service centers.

They would make the same amount of money and they would have happier customers.
We wouldn't like it, but read any econ 101 book and it tells you that if you haev excess demand you can raise prices to reach an equilibrium.

Dear racing fan,

you have ordered a Fanatec 911 GT2 racing wheel and we announced delivery in January. Unfortunately there were several delays which are causing a delay for the whole shipment to February. We will start shipping the wheels in week 7 and 8 in both EU and USA. This is independent if you ordered a regular wheel or the ClubSport edition.

We tried to ship the ClubSport edition earlier but it was technically very difficult and there was a high risk to cause more delays and shipping errors. So we decided not to do it and focus on a proper shipment of all open orders altogether.

The first wave of CS editions was sold out quickly and the problem was to get enough of the shifters and pedals. This is why some customers already received the regular version of the wheel although they sometimes ordered at a later date.

Of course we will bring in the products by airfreight at much increased cost but the production is too late.

All wheels are now sold out until mid of February in the EU and even May in the USA.

We learned from this situation and will offer the Clubsport editions only if all components are there. And of course we will continue to increase production.

We will ship it from CA in the USA and from Germany for Europe so please calculate a few date until it finally arrives to your door.

I know you are desperately waiting for this wheel and this message must be a big disappointment. In order to compensate you a little bit we decided to send you a free headshot controller mouse with your order.

Of course you are free to cancel your order at any time and get an immediate refund but I would be glad if you wait and enjoy this fantastic product.

All the best,

Thomas

Not bad.. I only got this..

"Dear Customer,

today our German warehouse has informed us that it was not possible to sent out all shipping orders this week as there were not enough goods on stock anymore. We apologize for this circumstance and the inconvenience caused by this matter.

Of course, we will resend the backorders as soon as possible.
The current estimated shipping date will be at least calendar week 7 / 2011."

Thomas can I suggest you sell via ebay, because your existing software must be unfit for purpose.. how can a product go from ordered too paid too shipping then too delivered and now I get this!!!! an email from the "Personal Assistant to CEO" !!!

either it's in stock to sell.. it's available to pre-order. or it's not for sale..

I thought I was pre ordering... so your software or what ever that changes the stock situation to shipping (presumably to take payment) is wrong..

If you have in fact taken payment by mistake( cause you cannot ship it), I suggest that you should correct this issue (refund) and when the items in stock around week 7 then take the funds and ship the product that was ordered.. and what's going on with the upgrade kits for RSV1's !!!

I feel like a bank.. lending money to fanatec whilst I wait with nothing but an IOU in the form of a wheel etc..

seriously I'm wondering why this continues to happen.. and hoping it's just ineptitude and not something more sinister!

P.S. apologies are cheap and easy when used occasionally rather than as a signature!!

results count.

We clearly mention availability in the webshop description so in general it should be very clear that you are just pre-ordering something. It happens that we put wrong dates in our description but it also happens that customers do not read what it is in the webshop description of the product.

I agree that it would be better just to take a deposit instead of the full amount and we try to make that happen in the new webshop.

Thomas,

How long until the GT3 CS edition is back up in the USA webshop for order? And I know you are hesitant in giving out dates--just generally--are we talking 1-3 weeks or a month or more? Thanks.

Snap! same here to mate,i assumed when my order status changed to "delivered" the warehouse allocated a GT2 to my order and all i had to do was wait for it to arrive in the UK.

Maybe the Fanatec warehouse staff should try some stocktaking once in a while!

I have to admit I am confused by the communication.

I am a US customer and placed my order on about Dec 11th for a GT2 clubsport edition and wheel stand. At this point when do you expect to ship these items?

Right from the blog post

USA:
RennSport Wheel Stand
Jan 7th

PWGT3 RS V2
Dec 26th
Dec 31st

PWGT2
Jan 21st
Feb 4th

CSP
Enough inventory at the moment
Dec 31st
Jan 23rd

PW shifter set
Dec 31st

I wouldn't expect to see your thing shipped until the third week of feb at the earliest.

if you ordered yours then and can cancel I maybe would...
I appear to have an overheating problem. This is the 3rd time and the last 2 times the wheel came back. It is 1 hour now and the wheel is still showing "888" and totally turned left.

I also felt the body when it "went out". The body was extremely hot. Looks like another wheel poorly cooled!

My idea is to, if I get the wheel back in business, cool it with some fan or so! Or, query if I can add a replacement fan! At the moment I am so angry and did not have the time to look, what is CS edition? I have the latest GT2, just delivered 2 weeks ago! Maybe around 20hours on the wheel!

Anyone else overheating or maybe can direct me to a forum with this discussion. 💡

Sincerely disappointed,

They charge right away regardless of when the product will ship.

I hope it is not something sinister as you say. I had an online company rip me off among many others years ago, small business. They took orders and kept saying the shipment was coming and delay after delay from Japan. By the time everybody realized we were ripped off it was too late for the credit card companies to do anything about it. It would be up to civil litigation to solve the issue. I was younger at the time and didn't follow through with that, so I lost a little over $1000. I really hope this isn't what is happening here. After 45 days of payment being transferred with PayPal they won't help you.

I doubt this is the case here, but a concern for me given my past experience.

Was the fan working period, could you feel much air movement?

All open orders of PWGT2 and PWGT2 CS in EU and USA will be shipped out in week 7 or 8. It will take some days to arrive.

There will be no more PWGT2 shipments before that date. I have informed all customers with open orders by e-mail. Please make sure you check the email account you used for the order and check your junk mail folder.

Any new orders will be shipped as indicated in the webshop description.

Well after I canceled my order, I decided I at least wanted the ClubSport pedals. So I ordered those this morning and already have information they are shipping. Then I realized I don't really use Forza. I rarely even use my PS3 since I have a good triple-screen PC setup (and much better sims). So then I thought, "Why the hell don't I just pick up the GT3 RS V2?" It seems to be so deep in production now that they have probably ironed out most its issues. So I did. I just ordered the GT3 wheel. Then I thought that now I want the stand again..and a clamp..lol. And this time I reordered everything separately...lol. Although the pedals have shipped, the wheel still shows "Pending". Hopefully I will see them change to "Delivered" status on Monday or Tuesday since the webshop said nothing about the GT3 RS V2 being out of stock.

I will say that a big factor in changing my mind to reorder the Fanatec stuff was Thomas' professional communication with me during the course of some email correspondence following my GT2 CSE order cancellation. I feel confident enough now that if I am unlucky enough to have a problem wheel or pedals, that I will be able to find a way to get it fixed with Fanatec. I am 100% positive that Thomas and Fanatec are as upset about this GT2 situation as we are...if not more so. Maybe give them a break for a bit and let them recover.

I hope you get GT3 Rs confirmation soon. :)

By the way do you know if the table clamp is in stock?

@Fanatec

Apologies for not making myself clearer.

I ordered this thinking I'd be pre-ordering and waiting until approx. the end of feb for delivery to me, based on the information on the web shop.

I was surprised to find that within three days I recieved an email from your systems saying..

we received the payment for the transaction xxxxx.
The order will be shipped now to:

xxx
xxx
xxxxx
xxxxx

Shipment can take up to one week.

seeing this I naturally concluded that you had taken payment and shipped the unit irrespective of what my previous expectations were!

so I wait expectantly then 4 days later I get an email saying the cupboard is empty :ouch:

Your reply leaves me asking Why were the dates wrong on the web page? are they correct now? week 7 is that delivered to me or you? Why do your systems email me telling me it will now be shipped when you have no stock (control)?

given the quality issues you've admitted to with the V1 to V2 upgrade kits and them first shipping to you with missing parts, then with poor quality builds..and in effect absolutely no sign of any shipping dates on that order I placed with you. You can perhaps begin to understand that I have very little confidence left.. in Fanatec communications.. it feels like a stream of continuous excuses.

Lastly I find it unhelpful that you choose to inform me that customers (me?) do not read or understand the web page which of course your also telling me, if I understand you, was incorrect anyway

Whilst these days it's not the norm, I personally don't mind if the product needs to be pre-ordered and even if a deposit needs to be paid for in advance.

I do object to the continual excuses, apologies and misleading information from Fanatec (email) which is in effect messing with my expectations and then causing Fanatec to disappoint me.

here's hoping that I'm not going to be one of those customers reporting issues with my GT2 when mine finally arrives.

@Fanatec

Are you keeping GT2 wheels in stock for defective replacements?

I'd hate for my wheel that I ordered in December 2010 to arrive first week of March only to be defective and not get a replacement until May/June.

That would be a major issue.

I am thinking of doing the same now too. Did your GT3 status change and are you expecting it to be shipped quickly?

No status change yet. But, I am expecting a quick shipment. They show as in stock still and everything points to availability in the U.S (and EU for that matter). I ordered the Clubsport Pedals at about 0730 PST and the steering wheel about an hour after that. The pedals showed as "Processing" by the time I ordered the wheel. But we all know there are issues with the webshop, so I guess it could be possible that GT3 orders skyrocketed after the GT2 announcement and that there are no GT3s left for me. We will see....that would be annoying. At least this time I ordered separately, so I know I can get the pedals working with my G27 on PC while I wait if a delayed GT3 happens.

Thanks, I just changed my order. GT3, CSP and stand on order now. If it works out this time I am sure I'll be ordering the shifters when they become available.

I half way considered just going for a ECCI or Frex setup but that only lasted for a few mins

Well Fanatec might be the most confusing company I've ever dealt with but it looks like my GT2 and CSP are finally in the mail.

I got a tracking number the other day and it didn't register, then voila tonight I get a new email from Claudia with 2 new tracking numbers that say my package left LA last night!
