PM'd Thomas yesterday. Don't think he's been on.

Just want my right hand side paddle. Not much to ask. I did pay for it.

I have also noticed that if you email outside of working hours you get the auto response but nothing else. I waited a week until I emailed again (during their working hours) and got a fairly quick reply.

It would appear to me that at times their system may not keep the message until the following work day, so always email mon-fri and within works hours.

👍 Let me know how you like F1 2010. I was thinking of picking that one up myself! I hear it's got a great career mode.

Which box did the screws come in that you are speaking of? Because the CSP's come with a bag of screws so you can either have the spacer blocks behind the pedal pads or not and the optional screws are very short.

The only screws that came in my wheel box were the ones for the optional shifter paddles.

On another note: I am finally behind the wheel after a horrible night last night. While racing in a race with iRacing I got an incredibly strong pain in my belly. After all night at the hospital ( A long night ) come to find out I have a 3mm kidney stone! ( Ouch )

But when the doc came in my room and told me I thought to myself "that's half the size of the screws I used to mount my wheel" lol...

On the road to recovery now 👍

Ouch!!,

Just went through the same thing (8mm) during Christmas. Had to go to Hospital which then transfered me to better hospital for 3day, 2 procedure Christmas gift the day after Christmas. I feel your pain. I thoght I was going to die. Hope it gets better soon. It took me over two weeks to get over it and lots of pain meds.

That is a bummer man, That is the kind of stuff that makes me mad. They need to take care of these issues....I dont care how much I like this wheel...if this kind of thing happens, I guarantee my next wheel purchase will not be from Fanatec. I sure do hope they make it right....Have you tried contacting Thomas? he is a member of GTP.

I was wondering about that. Lots of folks have been mentioning their contact with him. Do you know his GTP username? If I don't get this resolved early next week I'll try Thomas. Thanks for the tip!

Update.

In fairness to Thomas he got back to me and is looking into it.
Give credit where it's due. Top man.

I have the Club-sport peddles and GT2 wheel. Waiting for club-sport shifter lol.

Great product BTW guy's.👍

(8mm) ??? I couldn't even imagine having a stone that big God bless ya! Good to see you're still with us! lol

I actually PM'ed Thomas over on the club/league site I belong to before I purchased my Fanatec products to express my concern about there customer support. It was sort of a test to see if I got a reply. That was almost 4 weeks ago and still nothing. It didn't pursued me to not go through with the purchase though as I am a bit impatient and some what of a risk taker! :sly:

^^^^

Thanks for that. Hopefully I won't need to involve him but it's good to know he's reachable just in case....

Update on my missing paddle.
On way as I type.

Good to have a positive now and again eh.

I just wanted chime in with the short experience I have with my GT3RSV2 compared to my old DFP. They are two worlds apart. I bought the wheel used from a guy that just bought the thrustmaster wheel. No issues so far, tested it for 4 hours in and endurance race with no heat issues. Upgraded it to 681 and no issues. A lot less noice than the DFP and now when I try the DFP it feels like a toy.

Thomas's GTP tag is Fanatec.

Good guy.

Are you sure about that? (The username, not the "Good guy" part :))Unfortunately I did need to contact him this morning but "Fanatec" was not accepting private messages. I did a user search and it looks like "Fanatec..." is the one most used. I tried that so we'll see....

So I got my replacement wheel today and I just spent an hour or so driving. Thankfully the creaking problem I had with the first wheel is gone. Another positive I noticed was that the d-pad was raised significantly above the level of the select/start button. This was not noticeable on the first wheel I had and it is an improvement I feel.

I also immediately noticed that the fan is much louder on this unit. Alternatively I wonder if the fan was not turning on as soon or perhaps at all in the previous wheel. I have seen some comments earlier in this thread about different fan settings (such as "auto") but I have not been able to figure out how to set that. Anyone know?

Finally, many thanks to Thomas for ensuring my RMA request was processed (even though I had not even contacted him !). Clearly he pays attention to his customers' comments on this forum.

Glad to hear your replacement is working well! 👍

The instructions for setting the wheel center/fan auto calibration is in the GT3 RS V2 manual that you can download from Fanatecs support page. The fan setting works with the wheel centering setting.

My replacement fan is being delivered today. I'll have to take the wheel apart again and install it.

I did get a clamp on fan that clamps to my rig and I pointed the fan at the hole in the top of the housing and I think it works great because I was running a WRC Rally mod in rFactor which has extremely strong FFB and with the clip on fan running I don't think the internal fan even kicked on because of heat like it normally would.

I'll install the little 30mm fan anyway though. Let ya's know how it goes.

Thanks for this but I guess I'm still missing something. I see the instructions for the wheel centering setting and I have done that (was one of the first things I did actually), but I don't see how that relates to the fan setting and I can't find any info on that in the manual. After centering the wheel I still notice the fan comes on quite loudly immediately after power-up. It does keep the unit cool though so it's possible that I will decide to keep it on permanently. I would like to try the auto setting if I can access it though. Maybe it's already on auto and I just have a much louder fan than the previous unit? Anyway, if you can share any more info about the fan I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!!

I sure hope so! I'm tired of playing GT5 without the clutch and proper shifter.

You wont be to happy once you played GT5 with the shifters. Clutch is more of a on/off switch. I play forza with it and its feel like a great clutch, more a progressive thing.

I already have with the G25. It's still a lot more realistic than using paddle shifters and no clutch.

I recently purchased a PWC wheel and other accessories from Fanatec and have run into both COMMUNICATIONS and PRODUCT QUALITY issues.

Although my purchased product is not a GT3 RS V.2, I believe my experience so far interacting with Fanatec is of relevance to this thread.

ORDER FULFILLMENT:

I recently purchased a PWC wheel and a couple of other accessories from Fanatec via their Fanatec/USA site.

5 min after making payment via PayPal. I realized that I forgot to add aluminum paddle shifters to the cart.

The way the Fanetec online store is set up I knew that if I placed another order for just the paddles I would get nailed another $17 bucks for shipping.

...so I emailed Fanatec via web store contact form asking them if I could add another item to the order (easy for them to do via PayPal invoice) prior to shipment so I would not have to pay an extra $17 in shipping charges.

...no reply was forthcoming by the end of the next business day Germany time.

…so I left a VM at the Fanatec USA Tel. in Beverly Hills, CA, sent an email to the email specified via the Beverly Hill number, emailed Claudia directly, still no reply.

Two business days later Fanatec finally got back to me stating that they could add them to the order so I would not have to pay additional shipping charges.

The problem: Fanatec's reply stating they could do so arrived after my order had actually shipped and was due to be delivered the next day!

To Fanatec's credit, once you place an order with some companies it is difficult to add to the order, and they did send correspondence a few days later stating they were sorry and would provide a 10% discount on my next order, but they provided no details regarding how the discount would be executed or a code to be used for discount.

What troubles me is that Fanatec never replied to me within the stated time frame stated on their web site's verbage of one Business day following a weekend although I had gone above and beyond by trying all avenues of communication including the USA Beverly Hills 800 number, Claudia's email, and the email that the 800 number recording referred to in addition to contact via the Fanatec/USA contact form.

So clearly Fanatec's customer service has internal communications shortcoming regarding order status/shipment and possibly priority issues regarding order fulfillment.

QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE:

...so I paid an additional $17.00 shipping to add the aluminum paddle shifters to the order.

...and when the paddle shifters arrived today I discovered that the right Paddle Shifter mounting hole on the PWC was shipped out without ever being threaded!

Visual inspection of the three remaining mounting holes on the PWC's plastic paddle shifter housings indicates they are fitted with metal threads.

...so Fanatec's product assembly quality control mechanism missed this very basic issue easily confirmed by a quick visual scan....

I have contacted their support email and provided the info they require (PDFs of Invoices, Product SN#s) as well as a photo of the threadless mounting hole, TWO BUSINESS DAYS LATER STILL NO REPLY.

I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago and received them within a few days. I believe others here have been having similar results. Go for it!

They're worth every penny and then some by the way :)

Guys i'm strongly considering buying this wheel. Read most post so far. I'm just debating if this wheel is good enough or if i should pony up extra cash for the GT2? 250 sounds a bit much considering it is bare bones. I'd love to have 360 compatibility though. But can anyone that owes or has owned the wheel say if they are curious about the GT2 or are they so happy that they don't care for it?

I have a G25, had it for a few years. It's a great wheel but i'm not happy with the FF and the lazyness of its self centering. Further, it just doesn't behave like a real wheel most of hte time. I have had lots of good hours with it though.

Any help is appreciated!

ps: i love SIMS BUT i just can't get in to PC SIMS. Please don't hate me. I have every relevant racing game for PS3: SuperCar Challenge, Ferrari Challenge, Enthusia (ps2), Shift, F12010, GT5. I'd like to hear more feedback from ps3 games and does anyone have a 360? If so, why not the GT2 wheel?
