ive heard of one guy that simraces in iracing.

He has NO arms. Uses his toes/feet to get round.

And is probably faster then most beginners with two fully functional arms and legs.

I also heard of him, a real inspiration for all of us. I played a high level of Hockey and built a 3 fingered glove and wore a hook prosthesis. One year I finished in 10th place in scoring in the league. Other then my teammates very few people realized I was missing a limb.

Will the BMW wheel rim come with the CSW for beta testers if they apply for it?

If they want to release it with the CSW base, then I am sure it will have to be tested. Haven't asked Thomas yet myself, so I dunno. But I reckon it will as it's the most logical thing to do.

Incredible :)

There you are Logiforce :)
Out of all the beta testers i´m following you because of iRacing, i only race that so it makes perfect sense.

Ok yea i hope so, that wheel is pure sex.

what ever happened to the CS Handbrake?
4 months ago Thomas was all hyping it up and now he is completely silent about it.
has fanatec gone cold with the idea? is he thinking that the market for this is too small?
if the handbrake is still going ahead, then the questions are:
1. when is it coming out.
2. is it USB and compatible with both PS3 (GT5) and PC

Will Fanatec be making products specifically for drifters? For instance; will the CSR E have a rim available that is suited for drifting (no buttons on the wheelface, smooth spokes that dont chop your fingers of..)

Yeah, sorry for disappearing on you for a bit. Had a few things to do and ended up reading manga as I felt I wanted a little break from racing for a bit. And that got my attention to such extend I even forgot to log into GT5 regularly for my bonus. =/
Anyhow, I'll need to put more hours in iRacing even though it's not really my cup of tea as of yet. For a European like me it feels too American motorsports orientated. Plus as a Dutch guy (we Dutch love things that are free and dislike things that cost money regularly) I rather wish it had a free to play setup then a monthly recurring fee. Oh well.

On-topic:

As stated on the CSR Elite page there are 4 FFB motors. I reckon 2 in the base and 2 in the wheel. Will the ones in the wheel be used at sometime to recreate the vibration of the engine instead of ABS, since this is what I feel in real life as well?

Caz
Set your on wheel abs to off and it will simulate engine vibrations.

Thanks Caz. Didn't know that yet since there aren't any manuals online or anything. ;)
I'll look forward to getting my hands on the CSW.

No problem, that is the beauty with forums, answer when you like :)

Yea i´m a Euro aswell and totally see the cost issue aswell, but for me it makes up for it in terms of the quality and the fact that every month the game just keeps getting better and better and better.

Ok great, really what i would like to see if you could take a car, whichever one you prefer.
Drive that for a while with the T500 then switch to the CSW.

Maybe even send a mail to iRacing and ask for the recommended settings aswell, i´m sure they will have one when you get yours.

I just want a detailed review on the feel of the wheel, if the level of information is higher then it is on the T500 and yea that´s about it from my point of view.

I know Iracing is a monthly sub but surely the people on there want to race.

I mean lobby systems where little Rodney gets his birthday game are full of rammers etc.
I would imagine there's non of that nonsense on iracing and people want to just race clean and hard.

Yeah, I know that is great. Just when your low on income and have to spend it on different things all due to health issues, then a subscription to an expensive game like iRacing isn't something high on the priority list. I'll just have to make sure to avoid the kids I guess.

I'll make sure I'll do so. I was planning on switching back and forth in multiple games all along, including iRacing. Maybe I should get Spa or something in the game so I have a familiar track to race on and get some decent times in.

Sounds good, yea or just run one of the free tracks if there´s a money issue.
Lime Rock is basically made up of only corners so it would be a good track i think to feel differences in the two wheels.

I rather use Laguna Seca as I know that well enough as well. Although it is not my favorite track. I always miss my braking point at its famous corner.

I know my issue with the braking point before the corkscrew. Since its over a hill, I always grab the texture of the road to find my braking point. Since the textures differ per game... I guess I have to learn it all over again each time because of it.
The rest of the corners on Seca are easy though.

Whatever you feel comfortable with :) Laguna is a highly technical track with lots of corners so it should be the perfect playground :)

For the corner, brake just before it levels out, easy of the brake as you are light and then hard on the brakes again.

Solves the nervous rear end you usually get while applying brakes over a crest.

Yeah, I know. I was just thinking about the exact brake point. I most of brake a bit too late or too soft and this going on the dirt below. Ah well, that's why they have practice sessions.

Is Seca really that technical? I think the rest of the corners are too easy to figure out. I will go play again in a bit and see how I'll manage. It's been a while since I used the wheel.

Yea it´s all about practice, and then on top of that you have different braking spots depending on the car you drive.

Yea Seca is very technical. You have T1-T2, The fast uphill/downhill kink, the corkscrew, the fast left hander that tightens up as you get further into it and the right hander afterwards is pretty hard aswell to get spot on.

Oh sorry AMF, you get carried away here sometimes :)

My sincere apologies for going off topic.

Here's a few questions then:
- Are there any plans on rims for the CSW besides the already known Formula, F1 and BMW GT rims?
- And are you going to be releasing new rims on a regular basis or what for ideas do you have?
- Since you said in the past you were going to listen to the customers, then will you be asking for polls on "which rim next" here on GTP and other fora?

I want to know about rims for the CSRE, it says they'll have optional wheels too...

You're right, I was a bit selfish with my questions. ;)

So amf7...

- Are there any planned CSR Elite rims already? If so which one and if not then what are your thoughts at the moment about future rims for the CSR E?
- Also how frequent will we see a rim being released for the CSR E?
- As with the CSW's question earlier, will there be a pole on popular forums like GTP to see what the people would like as an add-on rim for the CSR E?
