Anyone find out for sure all the specific information about the co-op? Is it truly a FULL co-op campaign or is there a "catch" to the co-op??
I don't think that there is a full campaign. You and your friends can do various things - like storming a base - but there's no story to it, insofar as I know.

Man, I cant wait to spend days designing maps, love that feature. Only game I'm excited for this month even year.

Few more hours....been watching some streams and it seems to have minimal issues, so far. For anyone getting this on PS4 and you are into the map editor, looking forward to trying them out!

Completely forgot about this.

It looks amazing, only problem are the autogyros being able to hover.

Picked this up after work for the PS4 and only had the chance for 45mins tonight.
Does look very promising though and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it

The multiplayer would be great if they had a part system. It's hard to get on a team with friends and the way you invite them is ridiculous.

The propaganda mode was really fun but the second game they put me and the person I invited in on different teams. It's like battlefield all over but even worse.

Haven't touched PvP but have been having a blast with the campaign, this game has so much to do. Also have a map in progress. Tried some featured maps in the browser and really see the benefit in the PvE map editor, I was upset at first but things are going to get crazy.......this community will provide much content to potentially last forever, LOL.

Was watching some people streaming this game last night, and really enjoyed it. Love the open maps and their sheer size, with lots to do and discover. Although I'm not thinking about getting the game due to a severe lack of funds, overall it really impressed me and I'd get it in a heartbeat if I had the money to get one more game now. 👍

Lots of people complaining on the interwebz (aren't they always :P), but after having a few hours into the game, I think it's even more awesome. So much to do and to explore, just soak in the environment, love it. Ticking off rhinos and elephants to unleash them on your enemies never gets old. :D

Should I buy this or GTA V for PS4?
If you've played GTA V already I would get far cry if you haven't played GTA yet I would definitely get it. GTA V was one of the best games I've ever played. It was the first game I played all the way through since uncharted 2.

It sounds like the only real thing added to GTA v is the first person mode. For me one of the things I loved about GTA is that it's 3rd person. I'll probably get it on PC for the mods and hopefully oculus rift. I'm sure someone will get it working in the rift.

That's not good at all. Such a shame that their mp system has slowly been worse with each game. They used to have an incredible multiplayer and fan base. I have been on the fence about this as a long time FC fan. My main focus was the co-op campaign which seems to be still, very little info.

Has anyone had a chance to put some time into the co-op?
How long is the co-op?
How many co-op missions are there?

I've played a decent amount of coop. It's not a campaign at all. You can't do the story missions together. What you can do is run around the world and do side missions. You can also help each other take over outposts and unlock parts of the map but it only saves for the host of the session. If you get invited in it doesn't unlock the stuff for you.

It does keep everything you buy though like guns, attachments and all the money and XP you earn stays with you. You also have side missions you can do and random events pop up.

Everything in coop is oriented in gaining XP, money and loot. Nothing you do unless you are the host helps you to beat the story or open up the map in coop.

Its still really fun though and really helps to unlock things quickly as far as abilities and weapons etc. I'm sure I'll put countless of hours into it. I'll probably play the coop a lot more than the single player. I have a friend I play with and we will just take turns being host to help each other take over everything.

If you have a decent friend you like to play games with the coop is great but if you expect to play with random people or someone your not that friendly with it probably wouldn't be all that fun.

Ty finally a detailed break down of the co-op. This is honestly one of the first detailed breakdowns I have found. You have always been great for honest feedback. Much appreciated.

So far I only have about 2 friends including my brother getting this so I will wait for now. I already have it paid off, just haven't picked it up. The money could be transferred to another game but I am not even sure what else I would get this year. Not interested in GTA5 after what happened with the heists, still not sure about the Crew. I also just purchased TMCC and have been VERY busy with that. Plus Horizon 2... Hmm just hard to justify getting FC4 right now.

Gyrocopters can hover ;)

Source: apart from the above site I've been in one that was doing just that very thing :D

OT: I'm seriously tempted by Far Cry 4, I only played 3 very recently (how long ago was 2? Seems forever) and I'd forgotten how good the title-in-general was. Now that I'm going to hang on to see what happens with Assassin's Creed I may get this instead :D

The rotor system isn't powered, the only way you could do it is if there was a good sized headwind. Nothing like the videos of it taking off vertically from the ground and holding a hover.

With no wind the lack if rotor inertia makes it impossible to maintain a hover.

I've been playing 3 more recently, hopefully they've fixed the gun ranges in 4 so that you don't have to mod it to get a sniper to hit a target at 200 metres.

No problem. I may be off on it a little. I've got maybe 4 or 5 hours into the coop and that's what we've seen so far. It is really really fun though. I had to force myself to stop playing last night. Right when I said I was stopping we found two elephants and went crazy for another 30 minutes. The world that far cry has is alive and very active. It's perfect for two people to run around and get lost in. Regardless of how much you can actually accomplish together in game it's a blast.

How far can you roam in the free roam section as a co-op? I know they said it was restricted while in co-op mode. But never really said how much.
