For the record, I thought the movie was OK-ish, if you're a really thick car nut who wants some mindless entertainment. If I completely and utterly switch off my brain, I like to watch it.

Oh, and wazzuuup your poll options make you look like a cretin. If you want to get a genuine opinion, post a poll in the Movies and TV forum, and put simple options in, graded from high to low, and which don't try to manipulate the voter's choice.

I do find it interesting that all of the members that I respect here have posted replies saying that the movie was rubbish. See my earlier comments about brains.
I wouldn't class 6/10 as rubbish Giles. That's more Neutral. Rubbish is around 2 or 3/10.

The movie was pretty lame. The only reason I rented it was for the Charger. The rest of the cars were totally uninteresting to me.

well since I finally came to my senses and realized imports for the most suck. Unmodded ones are fine but the modified ones suck now. I could shoot myself for ever thinking they were cool. I'm glad that phase has passed me.

And yes the movie sucked. It was nothing like actual street racing.

They also trashed the best car in the movie (Charger not that damn Eclipse).

I just found it funny how the Eclipse loses that floor board...it makes no sense at all. Then it blows the engine, and yet it still drives fine. Then he picks up Vin, and he puts his feet right where the floorboard shouldn't have been. That's really odd...

It just sucked. That's all.

It was all show. Like gold paint on a turd. Sure it looks good, but damn does it smell. :)

If I had the same funding that they did, and maybe some help from Matt, the maker of the Redline movie series, I know damn well that I could make a more accurate film about streetracing. There'd be no love story BS, or no **** about rice-racers doing stupid car-jackings, and most of all...the races and crap would be somewhat realistic.

No, but I'm going to d/l it here in a few seconds.:) I've seen the video of the Veilside getting raped by a McLaren F1, though. The Veilside isn't even heavily modified, is it? I thought it was a mid-low 12 second Sup? The one in TF&TF is said to be faster than any production car in the world, even giving the McLaren a run for its money.

Yeah those Redline movies are really great, it sucks that those werent motion pictures because they are better directed and edited than the full-scale budgeted movie F&F.

If only he had the same budget, and support from movie companies, as the makers of TF&TF did. I know damn well that he could make some unbelievable movies.

Heck, I already think his movies are unbelievable, and to think that he's just some guy with a camera or two, and some free time on his hands.:) I'm going to help sponsor Redline 3 so it can be bigger, badder, and better than the one's before it.:p

[Edit]- Even the SoCal series, his first mvies he ever made, kicked ass.

mclaren DOES rape the supra
& i also have a video of a ferrari f40 burning the veilside supra in 1/4mile, but after wards the supra just takes off, then it slows down cuz it cant handle the corners....

I seen the trailer for Fast and the Furious 2 today at the LA Auto show, I also saw a few cars from the movie (this was all at the Mitsubishi booth, so i only saw the lancers and eclipses.)

Personally, FNF2 looks better than #1. I'm going to go see it, just because of the R34 (yes its in there, its in the trailer.)

:)

I will see TF & TF 2, and i hope it is better than the first. I can't remember the Ferrari for some reason...could someone post a pic>?

Oh man, that movie rocked!

It was phenomenal, for its time. Not a classic piece of cinematography, but a more than decent film. I mean, you 21-year-old gearheads should give it more props!

What a great crime movie! John Ireland and Edward Sampson did a neat job with the direction; Roger Corman and Jean Howell just don't get 'nuff respect from the wanabes whom call themselves steet-racers!

You mean you haven't seen it yet?!?! Damn, you don't know what you're missing!

In all this talk about the charger, not one person mentioned the chevelle in the scene after the credits.

Is that because as soon as the movie faded to black it was ejected without care to the credits?

I for one found it enjoyable as soon as I shut my brain off. A car nut I'm not, but even in my eyes it was unrealistic to the point of unforgivable.

Call me queer.

I saw it when I watched TF&TF at the movies the day it came out. Only reason I watched all of the credits until they showed him driving through the desert or whatever in the Chevelle is because I read about that 'secret' scene somewhere online.

Now, are these real Evo's or are they those ****ty American Lancers?

i thought Dom's sister is kida slutty-looking...although, i'm sure that doesn't disappoint some of you :p.

I must be a complete idiot. The Fast & The Furious is one of my all-time favorite movies. I love the kind of stuff where people street race and everything. I had no problems with the movie. I think it rocked.

[Edit] Also, I think a lot of you are just saying it sucked because the majority of everyone here said it sucked. That's my opinion though. [/Edit]

Nah, I just don't like movies lacking such things as acting.

I didn't enjoy any of the cars save for maybe the Charger. I'm not one to get pissed over realistic flaws like some people, well, because I didn't notice most of them. The movie was exciting to watch once, but I wouldn't watch it again.

Anyway, I tend to go against the grain most of the time.

Well, Concept, you are wrong about us saying that it sucked because other people are saying it sucked.

I said that it sucked because it's a car movie made by automotively challenged movie twits that can't understand the simple logistics of how cars work.

And, if I'm right, everyone else here that's saying that it sucked was thinking the same thing in one form or another.

I liked it. I really don't remember much of it though. I just remember that I liked it. Mainly because of the cars I guess.

I've seen it infact somebody bought it for me on video for a birthday present. I have only ever watched the video once, then I put it away on the shelf, never watched to this day. I don't know that much about cars but even I found some of the things realistic. Oh and i'm amazed nobody managed a NOS reference in this whole thread. So the film was bollocks.
