What is the fastest you have gone in a rally car and what kind of rally car was it? Also, does it take on damage to the extent the Subaru/ Ford/ Suzuki/Citroen WRC cars from the new car dealer do? Thanks!

Lancia Delta S4 is much faster, a legendary Group B monster that can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in less than 3 seconds on gravel...

That might be it then. All I know is it was a Lancia, prize car, and the speed was bat**** insane. It won the advanced rally by over 2:30.

Probably the Suzuki Escudo, massive acceleration and just fun overall.👍

This is my number 1 sought after car. It never shows up in the UCD.

Even though the car isn't allowed in the rally events it should be a blast to drive.

The Lancia Delta HF Integrale 91 bought from the dealership, not the fastest on road but on rough terrain its epic! (Looks like a Vauxhall Nova tho!)

Isn't the Escudo a rally car?

If you mean sanctioned by WRC then no. If you mean insane offroad action like Juha Kankkunen then yes. Its actually an Unlimited Class Pikes Peak hill climb car.

The Lancia S4 is probably the baddest rally car, especially since it's a group B legend. As for top speed, totally stock it tops out at around 144 mph.

"WRC is for boys. Group B was for men." -Juha Kankkunen

The Renault 5 Maxi turbo Rally Car might be in with a shot too. It's mid-engined, got 486bhp, and weighs only 905kg - it goes like the clappers (I've had nearly 200mph out it). 👍

Hope its better behaved than the awful '80 model, which is only good in a straight line, at least on tarmac

Of rally cars I've driven, it's the Ford RS200 '85.
Pricey (2mln with upgrades) but it has 533bhp and 980kg. It destroyed every rally event I participated in, even though I'm terrible at rally driving (I always hit barriers).

No other rally car compares to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Super Rally Car... it's not called Super for nothing

I just bought one of these in the psp version, nice! Sad story about the car tho!

Yeah, it's up there for sure. It's still so disappointing to me they have the S4, the Peugot 205 T16, the Renault Maxi 5 Turbo and the Ford RS200 Group B Rally cars but no UR Quattro, Quattro Sport or S1. Drives me nuts.

I was thinking the Delta '85 would be the best on dirt. Handles well on gravel too.

Too bad the Twin Engine Escudo was not allowed in the Special Events for Rally

the 'Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evolution 2 Rally Car ‘86' has the lowest weight and highest bhp of the group B cars, though nearly uncontrollable imo.

The rs200 rally car has worse stats but feels much more modern in its handling, and therefore easier to control.

That said i get my fastest lap times from the Lancia delta s4...

group B > all!

though the most fun to be had in a rally car is with either the stratos or the escort imo

I LOVE Group B rally cars with a passion, it absolutely kills me that they have the 205 T 16, the Maxi 5 Turbo, the RS200 and the S4 but the Audi S1 is STILL missing from Gran Turismo. Easily one of the most legendary cars of all time from the most revered era of rallying and they couldn't find a way to get it in there. Ugh. At least I can get a Daihasu Move or an Imiev, though.

I think the Audi S1 was an inline Turbo 5. I remember Clarkson saying 5's don't sound good because they are inherently imbalanced though...WRONG that thing sound simply monstrous, it doesn't need to sound good, it scares you into thinking it sounds good.

Like other posters have already mentioned, sadly omitted from this game...very curious considering it was very successful, and just bad.

Ya know what's fast? An X2010. But you can't use them on a dirt or snow track and Rey deffinently aren't a rally car. But what if there is an X2010 rally car? That car would tare up a rally course like nothing else. If you would want one in the game, you can vote to add it in the feedback forum on this site. Here is the link: http://feedback.gtplanet.net/forums/99305-most-wanted-cars/suggestions/1512329-x2010-rally-car

Even if that car was real it wouldn't work as a rally car. Part of the theory behind that car is the fan, creating suction below the car that allows for the insane down force needed for enough traction to keep the wheels from spinning out all the time.

On gravel it would just plain destroy itself.

rs200 is my favorite so far.
i have been collecting rally cars since i started the game, love them all.
the escudo is pretty insane like a x1 on gravel or snow bu you cant use it in any events
