Fastest US car at Indy?

Does anyone know which American made car is fastest at Indy?

I have the ZR1 RM and I cant seem to be able to go faster than 200 mph around the turns and average 42 second lap times.

Thank you but Im still not sure which one is the fastest. I can easily win with the ZR1 RM, but it would be nice if I could find a car and or setup that could achieve mid to high 30s in lap time.

Im not a huge fan of the zr1 RM, try the ford gt test car. Its so much easier to drive fast, and with the MR setup its a proper race car.

Not a proper race car?

Has anyone tried the Ford GT '06 from the Ford Dealership? It is a very fast car, faster than its tuning would suggest. For instance, I've had 246mph out of mine... 👍

I think the fastest car I've got is the Viper Team Oreca 91 car. I don't have to let up off the gas at all and I drive with no aids on. Can't give specific times tho....haven't done that race in a long time.

why buy it ? the GT spec 2 is prize car, from the dream car championship...

That's the Standard one that you get.
The LM Race Car, is different than the premium LM Test Car.
You don't win the 3,500,000cr test car, but you do win the Race version.

I went from Jeff Gordon's NASCAR to Corvette ZR1 RM and finally to Ford GT LM Test Car, best lap 37:9xx

My setup:
DS3, Automatic tranny
Racing Soft
All Aids off
Steering -2
Aero F4 R55
Max Speed set to 420km/h (about 260-270mph)
Height F-29 R-30
Spring F11.5 R13.3
Damper ex 8/8
Damper comp 7/7
Stabi 6/6
Camber F 2.0 R 1.6
Toe -0.07 0.26
Brakes 0/0

Car has 838 HP. I think, these settings are good enough to even achieve low 36:xxx times, if I could only avoid the f!#!*§& walls :banghead:

I consistently get low 38's/upper 37's with the ZR1 RM and a top speed of 222 mph in the no draft 5 lap race and the car is so easy to drive. Great way to make fast money. :)

I've seen 240 outta my Ford GT '06 no draft. The Chap 2d is good for this as well. Handles the turns a bit better. The Vette does great on the straight, but I can't quite tune the under steer out enough to get below a 40 second lap. They all are about equal for lap times in my garage.

Hi, The Ford GT spec II, (that you can win, somewhere, #4, the white one) or buy at the UCD (test car) is IMO is the best car for the "American Extreme" around Indy. Pedal to the metal all the way (tuned: 804Hp @ 1130Kg.).. 218 MPH (racing soft tires - no draft) on the straights. Huge downforce. The Corvette ZR1 RM is my fastest car around Laguna Seca but the Camero LM race car will win easily and is a lot of fun, so will the Ford GT '06 NCD (tuned: 882Hp @ 1203Kg) come to think about it. Have fun.

I would think a tuned ACR Viper would blow most of the cars away. I've seen them running 250+ mph easy. 1000+ hp is hard to ignore.

the awesome and beautiful rolling fridge
With a tune i use for it i can get 251 MPH at Le man
228 at the indy straights. and 195 in the bends

Anyone got times for a fully tuned Cadillac Cien?
I'm using one right now with no engine modifications, ballast added and aero reduced for a 600PP tuner competition and its getting 47s laps and hitting 210mph. That's using ds3, automatic transmission, racing mediums and no aids except abs1. (Car has to be tuned to handle the Indy road course as well so its not a pure speedway tune.)
