Bass is one facet of music.
I just wanna say this
Music in the car is great. But people who drive around with their car stereo so loud that their entire car is vibrating, that everybody within a two mile radius has to hear... when I can't even talk to my passenger until the light turns green and I can get away, windows closed or not... are a nuisance. Yes. A nuisnace.
And bass is no better than mid range or treble, just one aspect of sound. Choosing music based on what will highlight your subs best is shallow, stupid, betrays a total lack of taste, and a juvenile need to show off and get attention for something any chump can do.
Bass costs money. How much bass do you need?
Next time I see a car with those excessive, unecessarily large speakers I will poke them with a pencil. Then you'll be able to hear a different aspect of sound... distortion.

I heard about a law, maybe in Ohio, where if you got that ticket, the punishment was to go and sit in a room for a few hours and listen to opera or something. I saw it on TV. It was pretty funny seeing the fat-ass mexican gangbanger get yelled at to keep his head up and eyes open and listen to the tunes![]()
It's been tossed around for about 10 years now, but it's hard to enforce. Usually it's 50 feet, but how do you decide how sensitive the cop's hearing is. And they aren't likely to carry a sound-meter (?) with them to check. You would have to create a public disturbance, and that would mean the car is stationary for a while for that to take effect.Originally posted by Omega Star
There is some newish law in Florida that says something to the effect that if your car stereo can be heard 100 feet away, they will give you a ticket.

No,.. actually I have 1600 watts. And no, I don't need a chat room, I was making an ironical statement considering my previous stereotyping comment.
And I already answered the question why. Because I love my music.
I look at it this way. I'm 25 years old,.... with technology's advancements in the comming years, they'll be able to implant a perfectly good, brand new set of ear drums for me when I'm 50.![]()
