Favorite F1 Drivers?

My favourite driver skill wise is Michael Schumacher. I believe he was better than Senna if you ask me.

Favourite driver as a character has to be Eddie Irvine. not many people have a fight with Senna in their first race and then after when he (Senna) punches him, shouts "Insurance claim here!"

Favourite driver for coming last is Ricardo Rosset. Can anyone remember how many times he failed to qualify in 98?

For me it has to be kimi Raikkonen as when he started out at Sauber i always said that he has what it takes to be a champion and then with his move to mclaren it seems i may well be right. (i also said the same about hiedfeld!) but at the moment i think Klien may be one 4 the future but i think he would be more like sato, bit daring and mental!

Since the first race I ever watched (a tape of the 1990 US GP), I've always loved Alesi's driving style, even if it lacked discipline.

Of the more recent drivers, I'm not a huge fan of anyone. I think Monteiro unfairly got a bad reputation for his happiness on the podium at Indy, I think JPM needs to stop crashing into people to be successful, and I think Wurz deserves another shot at a Sunday drive.

Mine are gilles villeneuve & Ayrton Senna. villeneuve because he could win in cars that were pieces of crap and fling a car round with discipline and touch. Senna because he was an absolute fighter, he would never give up till the end (e.g brazil 1991) he was the greatest in the wet (e.g monaco 1984, donigton 1993). and he wouldnt back down when he voiced his own opinion. both passionate for f1, both killed doing what they loved, legends now, then and always.

David Coulthard. He has done well for 10 years and last year was probably his finest in an uncompetitive car. I'm looking forward to what he can do this season.

Also Barrichello, always have done since I started watching F1 (Back in '95), always prob will.

I'm not a fan of anyone but I like Coulthard to become the driver he was when he was still driving for Mercedes (early years). I think that Senna was a pure talented driver. I like watching F1 when there is a lot of competition between drivers (don't really care who wins, as long as it's worth while watching). Seems like there's more than one of this thread.:)

man there's heaps of aussies on GTPlanet

Here is another 👍

I really like Michael Schumacher, he has the abilty to pull out the fast laps when needed and is very consistent. He also does very well in bad cars (last year, and also back in 1994 with bennaton.

I also like Kimi for his raw speed as well. And of course Fangio and Ayrton Senna

I wasaobut to say the same thing about Fangio's performance at the nurburgring in 1957. I think his comments after the race was 'Today i did things i never want to do again'. or somthing like that.

Obviously I'm partial to Webber, but i also becuase of the fact he was able to do with slow cars wht others coulnt, he hasnt yet been great with a top line team but i reckon jsut wait. I always liked Coulthard as a driver, dont know why, he hasnt even won anything really. One i dont really like that much is Montoya, sure you can be an aggressive driver but what he does sometimes i think jsut aint racing, he forces other drivers to either make contact possibly ending both their races or go off the track, you should at least give a car length racing room, if they've got the inside line heading up to the next corner you cant jsut force em off the track cos you dont like it.

Top line team? williams screwed up badly with their car this year.its not webber, the williams has the aerodynamics of a damn double-decker bus

I dont understand why so many people seem to like ato and Trulli, Sato cant drive for peanuts, he's a hazard to the other drivers fullstop, this guy should not be allowed to drive in Formula One until he um........learns how to drive or something, as for Trulli the guy is so slow that other drivers plan their race strategy based on where Trulli quallifies because they dont want to be stuck behind the guy and lose a million seconds a lap to everyone else. My favorite driver has to be Mark Webber, he's a real great driver, he is probably one of the best quallifiers on the grid and he's a real tough Aussie racer hehe, he hasnt had too much luck with Williams though hehe. Oh and some said Montoya is too agressive, I like the guy because he isnt affraid to give it a go and try to pass people instead of what most the other drivers do which is just follow another driver then try to pass them when they pit, Montoya is a great driver, really exciting to watch.

Trulli, slow … huh? He’s in a relatively slow car, but he was the best qualifier last season. He has the same race pace as his team-mate, the only difference is that he out-qualifies him almost all of the time.

Trulli is a great driver, definitely not slow. Every single F1 driver deserves to be in a F1 car. They've proven they're worth it, even Sato, although he can be a hazard on the track sometimes.

i think

-Micheal Schumacher because he really is fast and he can drive bad cars and still get points or maybe a win
- Mika Hakkinen, no talks only actions
- Montoya, i really like his driving style and his passing moves
he si never afraid to overtake

I think Pedro deserves a place in McLaren more than Montoya now. Well, he's deserving that since 3 years ago so...

BTW, my favourite drivers are the generic ones... Senna, Schumi, Alonso, Kimi...

i also grew up with Senna and remember the crash on live TV well........

for classic drivers:
1. Senna
2. Gilles Villeneuve

of the current guys ivev met i have to say Trulli is great.......very kind and friendly guy......i found schumy to be a bit of a jerk.......and all that damn licensing crap.......wouldnt say squat about beneton...
