Maybe it's my tuning of my Golf but i prefetmr their handling over the Lupo. The rear when suspension is set harder, can even oversteer a bit, which eliminate the understeer. The Lupo may be as good on short tracks but on track with high elevations, like the Ring, the less powerful engine will be a issue. I will try it again.

Ya u ppl are fools by faaaaaaaar the dodge SRT4 will absolutely kill any other FF. Mine is fully tuned with way over 600hp and barely any understeer. I can kill most cars let alone just FF cars and no other FF comes close.

Too much power is like not enough. With that much hp and torque, i bet you have to be gentle with the throttle when coming out the corner. When you come faster to a curve you have to brake sooner. Situations where a less powerful car but with well-tuned transmission can keep up.

Anyways, put some neons under the car with lightened wind-shield washer jets and you will destroy any other car. Oh and a 5 inches tailpipe.

You've eliminated the understeer in the Golf?
PLEASE DO SHARE YOUR TUNE SET UP??

Oh, and btw, I wasn't comparing them in the, pitting them against each other... time trial or competitive with each other sense... I was comparing them in the "handling" sense... if that makes sense. ??

I haven't actually run time trial tests comparing them. Though I may now. Because even with the power difference, I might actually do a better time on nurburgring with the Lupo, just because my Golf handles terrible.
Like I said, it may totally be my tune set-up that just makes it handle awful. LOL

I was just making the comment that,,, say if people are thinking of a one-make race... Golfs seem to be more popular than people wanting to run Lupos.
I could be very happy racing Lupos. I do know there WAS an online race series with Lupos, but I got the game and joined this site too late to participate.

Did I walk into a Call of Duty forum by mistake?

Considering that the OP actually brought up the Mini Marcos... (which might not even be competitive against a Corsa Comfort, let alone a Civic Type R... (at a hp/weight restriction) might be interesting to run some tests though haha)...

Anyway, I took it to mean that the question, "Best FF?" was subject to interpretation. And more specifically about handling....
Not merely a question of which could 'beat the pants off' other FFs. haha.

Honda integra dc5 from the dealership is a joy to drive With default settings on the fully customisable suspension.
Also, Honda crx is fun to wrestle around.

Honda prelude is oddly good probably it's 4ws just a shame it doesn't rev higher.

There is a nice 1990s corolla Toyota levin ff

Well, I would say Honda Integra Type R.

With soft sport rubber and a Sport Exhaust this thing outruns a lot of FR - Cars. :)

^ I'm partial to the Integra Type R (DC5) myself. It just feels so right and is very quick. It's good fun in the race modded version too.

I forgot to mention my purple mini. That may be my favorite FF car. Won the seasonal with it and took it into some online races where it did very well in HP/Wt limited events.

Or, maybe it's the Alfa Romeo Twin Spark. This car drives like its on rails around corners.

I have a matte Purple one!

@watermelonpunch:

You just need to put the rear suspension a lot more rigid, rear sway bar too and some camber on the rear wheels. Putting more brake balance on the back should make it easier too. The car may feel unstable at braking but it should be more easier to puy it a little bit sideways in the corner.

Intergra RM with all mods bar the Turbo (~317bhp), 950kg, Racing Hard tires and some negative rear toe, handles better than most rwd cars and is so much fun to drive!!!

I forgot about the SRT4. It can have over 600 HP in GT5. This one is probably the best.

Just tried it. With 616hp on the front wheels, you have to control the throttle or even with racing soft, it's smoking on 3rd. On Trial Mountain I did a faster lap with the srt4 than with a tuned Supra RZ (600hp). That one surprised me. I put the top speed to 205mph on the custom gearbox.

Oh, yeah! I forgot to mention the NEW Fiat 500!
276hp and insane cornering!

The handling is good but you really don't feel the 276hp, and for a low weight car at this power, it's kinda deceiving.

Ford Focus ST - Great handling, lots of grip but doe's feel a little nose heavy. Very stable at high speeds with good feedback and feel. Awesome powertrain, mountains of torque even when standard. Just a shame we don't have the 2008 face-lift model or even the Mk II RS... C'mon PD, surely it was one of 2009's best cars...

I think GT5 is missing quite a few FWD cars if i'm honest. I mean who needs two Suzuki Swifts, or even a lame Mk 4 VW Golf GTI? Much rather have had the Mk I GTI upgraded to Premium if i'm honest. Its a shame we didn't get cars like the new VW Scirocco (R) or the new Mk 6 GTI and GTD. It was obviously too much for PD to include the JCW version of the Mini, instead insisting we have a standard Mini ONE and making the original Mini a 'German' vehicle?

Still, enough of the rant. Back on topic, other good FWD cars i've come across include the obvious Honda's (Integra DC5 / Civic Type-R '09) and i was also impressed by the performance of the 07' Mini Cooper-S.

I wonder if anyone tried the Dodge SRT-4. I remember it was good in GT4, fully tuned at around 510hp.

Anyone?

No one put the PT Cruiser or the ugly Sunfire to the test?

I enjoy the PT LOL

PSDK_92
I enjoy the PT LOL

We should put a poll to know what percentage of GT5 players, firstly have the PT, and secondly how many of them actually use it on regular basis!

You painted it black, do a single model race with PT Hearse? ;)

This is pretty sad people... Nobody knows which FF in GT5 is hands-down the fastest?? Somebody nominate a track. I will time trial it with a max tuned SRT4, and we'll go from there.

I strongly dislike FFs but I have to say that the Gathers Drider Civic race car is the best. Excellent handling for one. I'll try the RM Integra today and see how it goes.

I really love my dc2 spoon integra but it is underpowered, my crx is great but I biased (crx owner) my mk4 rm golf is probably the most planted of my ff cars but not the most fun and again too slow, nit that fun to drive.
My brother recently started a file and ended up with a used fiat punto hgt arbarth? I really enjoyed this car. Used it standard and the throughout a gradual tune and it was good (surprised? Me too).

600bhp through front wheels? Good luck with that. My 400bhp premium civic is my fastest ff for lap times but is really pushing front wheel traction.

I like the TRIAL CELICA SS-II (ZZT231) '03. Fully Tuned and tweaked - 400Bhp 970kg a real joy to drive. Excellent grip and very responsive. Top car for all occasions, and looks great too!

I thought there was a Thread already.

Anyway:
Power is nothing without control.
=> SRT-4 maxxed is a bit tricky but very fast (with a good tune)
I might buy another one and slightly tune the power.

I think the best FF car is the Trial Celica SS-II (stock). 7:42.7XX around the Ring with Sport softs (no aids ABS=1 DS3)
I´m sure it can go faster, but that was my maximum.

Ford Focus RS is a beast too (893kg minimum weight O_o) but mine isn´t fully powered (219kw)
=> love it.

Other FF´s which are superb:
Integra RM
Integra Touring Car
Civic RM
Golf IV RM
Xsara Rally Car ´99
Gathers Civic Racer
Mugen Civic Racer
Civic Sedan (premium)
Alfa Romeo 147 Twin spark/GTA (every 147 is nice ;))

Maybe I forgot one but those are fun

I thought there was a Thread already.

Probably there's a "Fastest" thread, but I can't find it. If anyone can, I will merge the two.

Surprised nobody likes the Mazda6. Loved it in GT5P. And here, with nothing but power mods to bring it up to the same PP, it can hang with some of the more powerful rear-drivers on the looser tracks. Lovely balanced car. Good transmission. Great tire package.
