What do you think is the best FF car?
Say why.

Since I know that many will say the civic (EG,EK,FDx) is the best, I will 'break ice' and say that the Mini Marcos is the best.

At ~190hp and 515KG, this is as fun as a very good Elise, but has all of the FF traits like 'never spinning out' and simple steering. Understeer is also easily countered by lifting the throttle or braking, which basically negates the primary disadvantage of any FF.

In that defense, That is why I think the Mini Marcos is the best.

Integra DC5 RM or EK RM. Race modding helps enough for cornering on these FF cars to give them the edge over the others.

From previous knowldege, I would assume that these would be quite close in terms of cornering.

hmm tricky. depends what best means really ^ ^

atm i'm having a lot of fun in the Peugeot 206 RC 03

other fav's are:

Ford Focus RS 02
Celica TRD Sports M (ZZT231) 00
Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R 99
Spoon CR-Z
Honda Integra Type R Touring Car

oh and the Nissan mm-R Cup Car 01

I tried many, and must say the 4-door Civic Type-R from premium dealership, fully tuned, is surprising. With 413hp it's faster enough for a FF around a track, good top speed too. I find it well balanced.

Both Spoon Civic and Integra are fun but for tight corners and slower one they sucks because they only have high-end power. And they sound like a riced-up Civic with a cheap exhaust.

The little Mugen civic 88 is amazingly good.

The premium Fiat 500 is awesome but even fully tuned at 265hp, it really don't feel like a 265hp/ under 1000kg car should be. Handling is good but lack power, like the 76 vw gti.

My top three FF cars:

Vw Golf Gti Mk4 RM
Honda Civic Type-R (sedan)
Vw golf Gti Mk5

Well, I absolutely love hot hatches and when it comes to the Premium dealers, the Megane Renaultsport is the best offering. It was the quickest among it's specimen on my Top Gear lap time board and it is by far the best to drive.

I wonder if anyone tried the Dodge SRT-4. I remember it was good in GT4, fully tuned at around 510hp.

Anyone?

No one put the PT Cruiser or the ugly Sunfire to the test?

I forgot about the SRT4. It can have over 600 HP in GT5. This one is probably the best.

Lupo GTI cup car! It's great fun.

For a premium model I'd have to say the '97 Civic type R (EK?)

Great thread!

I usually drive/race FR cars for some reason, but the FFs are a lot of fun too.

VW Golf GTI RM is a blast. Not a lot of power, but can handle very well. We've raced a one make series with them and they're fun to toss around.

The Dodge SRT4 is a real sleeper car. Nobody notices it, then all they see is the rear bumper. Mine is the dull gray rental car looking version.

I love the Integra RM, but there aren't many races for it online. (I don't drag race).

There are a lot more, but I can't think of them right now.

I absolutely love the Citroen Xsara Rally Car '99 and it's one of my favorite cars in GT5. Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Not too sure but this car is a 4wd i think.

About the GTI RM, true there's not a lot of power but it's a blast to drive. I did a lot of laps on the 'Ring with it and it's very fun.

No it's not. It's a F2 WRC kit car with a 2.0L NA motor with 300hp, from the pre-WRCar days, not a Group A turbo 4WD.

As for best FF, it's the SRT-4, hands down. The thing can keep up with JGTC's in a 5 lap sprint and goes well in a street race down SSR7. The Eclipse '06 has 550hp fully done, and the Accord V6 has around 520hp fully done. The C4 VTS produces 480hp, and a couple of Alfa's (147GTA, 156 2.5L V6) get around 450hp.

Good thread...

I happen to like a lot of FF cars. I have a lot of fun with lots of them.

I also LOVE the Mini Marcos. It's one of my favourite cars for various reasons that lots of people probably wouldn't get. It's definitely what I'd call a "stable" car, as far as handling too.

What really mystifies me is the popularity of the Golf more than the Lupo. Golf is fine... but I much prefer the Lupo. I keep thinking maybe I just happen to get the tuning right in the Lupo, and maybe my tuning of the Golf is really just crap... and I don't know what I'm talking about. :dopey:
If anyone prefers Golf and has a tuning setup they think is good, let me know what it is & why!! :)

I also have enjoyed both Dahatsu avanzatos. Though they're very boxy. :D They do handle fairly well hopped up, each in their own way. Which is something I really wouldn't say about a lot of the boxy FF kei cars.

Ya u ppl are fools by faaaaaaaar the dodge SRT4 will absolutely kill any other FF. Mine is fully tuned with way over 600hp and barely any understeer. I can kill most cars let alone just FF cars and no other FF comes close.
