As for favorite movies that no one has seen, My wife still wonders why I love watching "Big Trouble in Little China"

AO

I like "Big Trouble in Little China" Your wife doesn't understand because, It's a "guy thing".
I also like "The Twelve Chairs" one of Mel Brooks funniest but under-seen movies.
"My Name is Nobody" with Henry Fonda
"The Hustler" with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason
"Love Potion #9" with Sandra Bullock (stupid but good)
"Mr Destiny" with James Belushi

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Steetwise charmer and cardshark Eddy (Nick Moran) walks into the biggest card game of his life carrying a stake backed by the life-savings of his three best mates, Tom (Jason Flemyng), Bacon (Jason Statham) and Soap (Dexter Fletcher). Eddy is the sharpest player on the circuit but the game is a set-up. and Eddy leaves owing underworld boss "Hatchet" Harry (P.H. Moriarty) half a million. Harry gives Eddy a week to come up with the money before he starts taking fingers as collateral. Eddy's dad, JD (Sting) can cancel the debt by handing over his bar, lock, stock and barrel to his old adversary, Harry. DJ refuses to give in, feeling his street-tough son can get himself out of his own messes. So, while Harry sends a couple of petty crooks to steal a pair of antique shotguns to add to his collection, Eddy and his mates plan a caper that will enable them to pay off Harry and make out like bandits! In a comedy of errors, and a helter-skelter ride through London's gangland, the guns, cash, drugs and identities become all mixed up as a full complement of London's lowlife get involved in a melee which even all their menace can't handle. Full of energy and surprising twists at every turn. It's a rollicking comedy that has it all, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."

Mean Machine
From the producer of Snatch comes this rousing, rough-and-tumble story that shows spirit and heart can exist in the most unlikely places... and in the most unlikely men.
Ex-soccer star Danny Meehan (vinnie Jones) was sitting on top of the world ... until a sports-fixing scam ruined his career and an assault charge landed him in jail. When the prison's soccer-crazed warden (David Hemmings) asks Danny to coach the guards' soccer team, Danny counters with another idea: a match between the guards and the convicts. For the inmates, it's the dream of a lifetime: a dirty-no-holds-barred chance to face the malicious guards. But first, Danny must turn a group of muderers, thieves and madmen into something unthinkable: a team. Based on the film classic The Longest Yard, Mean Machine scores with its lineup of gritty action, colorful characters and hilarious comedy.

The Boondock Saints
Thou Shalt Not Kill. It's the one commandment they cannot keep. Tough, stylish and extreme, fans of "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction" will thrill to the action, intensity and intelligence of this moder day morality taile written in blood. Starring Willem Dafoe "The English Patient,' Sean Patrick Flanery "Powder" and Norman Reedus "8mm."
When the sadistic Russian mob starts muscling in on their South Boston Irish neighborhood, Connor and Murphy McManus know what must be done. Feeling that the vengeance of God is flowing through their veins, they set out to rid the streets of gangsters, criminals and lowlifes. As the body count rises, the brothers become local heroes. Now, one unorthodox FBI agent must be cunning enough to bring them down.

Intacto
Considered "lucky" aafter he survives a plane crash, a bank thief is recruited into an underground gambling ring where death and luck intermingle. This critically acclaimed thriller ventures into the world of thoes blessed with fortune and the gamblers who bet high stakes just to feel the rush of fate's hand. Who will chance smile on this time? Who will have the odds in their favor? Max Von Sydow (The Exorcist, Minority Report) stars as the ringleader who has the power to steal other peoples's luck and will stop at nothing to do it. Jam-packed with twists and turns, Intacto will leave you guessing till the very end!

fhew I havent typed that much in a long time. If i have to rank the 4 movies above to my likeing I would have to place
The Boondock Saints as #1
lock, stock and Two Smoking Barrels as #2
Mean Machine as #3
Intacto as #4

Anyways I never hear anyone ever talk about these movies, I find them to be pretty good.

I'd have to go with Dead Alive or Bad Taste by Peter Jackson. I haven't met too many people who have seen these movies, but they're very excellent. Better than his Lord of the Ring movies, easily.

If you want to see Zombies giving birth, and vomit being eaten you should check out these movies.

I love Dead-Alive!:D

Im suprised it even made it to american store shelves it's so gory.

Once were Warriors - A low budget NZ film had in the early 90's. One of the best movies I have ever seen.

This is one of my favorite movies. I love the shootouts and all the little jokes and its sad to say but i would love it if someone were to really do what they did in this movie. I cant wait until they make the next one called "All Saints Day".

"He better've kicked the bucket, cause if he jumps up like that again, I'm getting the hell out of here!"
 Great scene. I'm surprised someone here knows this movie.

Touché! I love this movie! "First time you ever plug somebody?" Or when Kurt's character first sees the one-eyed floating thing, "Hugh! What the hell is that?" I haven't seen it years.

Here are some other movies I should have listed before.

The Cowboys
This is the first movie where John Wayne dies after being shot in the back by that, "...Vermon-ridden son-of-a b*tch." Roscoe Beck plays Mr. Nightlinger, a black cook that runs the chuck wagon. I love the scene when the Vermon-ridden SOB was about to hang him and Mr. Nightlinger says a "turn to his maker" and said, "...Please forgive me for the men I killed, and for those I'm about to." God, I love that scene! It makes the hair on my body rise.

The Fourth Protcol
Awesome movie. Better than most James Bond flicks.

The Fourth Protocol was good. But the book was much better.
The movie had Pierce Brosnan's character seeming so one-dimensional

Great one...not many people under the age of 25 have seen it, though. Anyway, you took my choice...

Anyone ever seen Solar Crisis?

Perhaps you think you've seen this movie, but if you haven't seen it at least a dozen times then you haven't really seen it.

Bram Stoker's Dracula !!!!

oh, and Blood of Heroes.

The Boondock Saints
The cross dressing scene was just out there. Also starring Ron Jeremy.

Both great movies.

All these movies fall into the nobody has seen it under the age of 30 category (except for me :p )

Bullit - It has the greatest car chase EVER made, and nobody has ever come close. It has great foot chases, and a great story to boot. Truly a classic movie.

The French Connection - Similar to Bullit in it's great car and foot chases, and for a great story. Very good film.

Dirty Harry - One of my all time favourites, it has the toughest character ever to go on screen, Detective Harry Callahan, who is played to perfection by Clint Eastwood. Another must see, I could ramble on for hours about how good this movie is.

Marx Brothers - Timeless comedy, all of their movies are great to watch.

Some other great films of note that fall into the under 30 category are Tora Tora Tora (vastly superior to Pearl Harbor), Bridge on the River Kwai, One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest (sp?), and others I can't think of at the moment.

A movie that was made fairly recently but few have seen was Executive Decision, starring Kurt Russell and Halle Berry. Very good suspense/action flick, and Steven Segal even has a small part in it.

*edit* I also forgot to mention Battle Royale, a Japanese movie which is almost impossible to find in North America. You can probably find a copy of it on kazaa with English subtitles.

Everyone has seen those movies. And if you haven't, you're a dolt.

I have to ask; have any of you seen Pink Flamingos? A friend of mine loves this movie and says I should watch it. I dunno; sounds like something a little "out there" for my taste.
John Waters is my hero. Jeez, I would have mentioned him but in my crowd everybody knows his stuff, so it didn't really occur to me that other people wouldn't.

Pink Flamingos is seriously out there. So is a lot of his other stuff. He actually mellowed a bit with age. If you are interested in seeing John Waters' stuff, but are not too keen on diving into the major weirdness, start with Hairspray. If you like that, try Polyester. If you're still interested, then see Pink Flamingos. If you've got a pretty high tolerance for weirdness, skip Hairspray and cut right to Polyester. But in either case, hold off on Flamingos until you've sampled at least one of his other movies.

Dark Star - space weirdos whose job it is to blow up "unstable" planets have to catch an alien beach ball loose in their ship, and deal with an existentialist bomb

I have that on DVD - to replace my worn out VHS version. :O

Favourite scenes - the 'alien' (particularly the broomstick scene), and Pinback's increasingly hysterical ramblings on the ship's diary system.

Bit of trivia - Dan O'Shannon, who played Pinback and co-wrote Dark Star, also wrote Alien, The Return of the Living Dead and Total Recall.

I saw the movie Hairspray. It was OK, I wouldn't call it that weird, though. Never saw any other film of his, I think. I wanted to see Prick, but I never got around to it. Is that any good, or weird?

Swordfish- John Travlota and Halle Berry. I don't know if anyone's seen it, but is extremely awesomely cool.

Personally, I thought it was awful, although there was a gratuitous highlight of Ms Berry...uh....sunbathing in such a manner as to avoid upper body tanlines....

The movie did have it's highlights.:p

Diner with Kevin Bacon, Daniel Stern, Mickey Rourke, Steve Guttenberg, Ellen Barkin, Paul Reiser, and a host of other people before they were anybody. An excellent movie about that transition from high school to real life.

Breaking Away - another great movie, also including Daniel Stern, about growing through that same phase of life; what do you do when it's suddenly all your responsibility to choose? Excellent film that is worth watching more than once.

Those arent't the two movies I stopped in to post, but they go together very well. The other movies both slipped right out of my head as I was clicking the Reply button.

Actually three. The other one was the car Travolta drove. If I recall, it's his personal vehicle.

Clerks. If you've ever worked retail, or a behind a counter watch this one. Not for the faint of heart when it comes to language.
