👍 👍

Indeed, everyone who can handle horrible language, and some of the funniest, subtle humor (along with some not-so-subtle humor), definately watch this one.

Good call big A.

Much as I love Clint as an actor and director, and of course Harry Callahan is a minor hero of mine, but... these movies can hardly be classified as "movies that no one has seen".

Toy Soldiers with Sean Astin, and Louis Gossett Jr. Oh and Wil Wheaton too. Great terrorist/action flick.

the look on teh terrorists face when he hits the button for the bomb, and the plane takes off.

Absolutely classic "Utter frustration" face.

Actually three. The other one was the car Travolta drove. If I recall, it's his personal vehicle.

Yes, a very good movie. Most of friends don't know about the "New Jersey" movie series. Which includes Mallrats, Dogma, Clerks etc.

Most people I do know have heard of the lastest one in the series, which is Jay and Silent bob strike back. As for the rest, most people have never heard of.

OK, two "coming of age" movies last time; now two oddball comedies in the same vein:

1) What's Up, Tiger Lily? In about 1968 or so, Woody Allen took a Japanese James Bond-type flick. Working only with the action as originally filmed, he dubbed a complete new voice track over the existing actors. So now, Phil Moskowitz, lovable rogue, must recover the recipe to the World's Best Egg Salad from the evil mastermind Shepard Wong. And hopefully he'll get some action from his beautiful assistants Teri and Suki Yaki. If you like Mad Movies or MST3K, Woody Allen did it first. Definitely a must-see.

2) Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid - Steve Martin makes a similar pastiche, but using actual cuts from many famous Hollywood thrillers from the '40s and '50s including the original dialogue from Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and the like. However, Steve Martin spliced them all together with newly-filmed bits featuring himself as a bumbling detective opposite the long-dead Bogart. Also quite funny.

Gigli and Glitter. Makeout movies. Just you and your girl alone in a theatre.;)
Seriously though..... A Boy and his Dog - the first and last good Don Johnson movie.
Kudos to Gil for " My Name is Nobody" ...remember to always aim for the dynamite.

Anyone seen "The Idiots" by Lars von Trier?

that sure was a weird movie. :odd:

It's the most normal movie I've seen.

No seriously, weird as hell. Dogma can be great from time to time but in this movie he took it too far.

Speaking about Von Trier, I love "The Kingdom/Riket/Riget", both series. Seen it Tomski?

Gah! That's the one I couldn't think of after Dark Star! An excellent movie, based on a book by Harlan Ellison. And you forgot to mention that Don "Miami" Johnson was a 17-year-old nobody when it was made.

I also forgot to mention Battle Royale, a Japanese movie which is almost impossible to find in North America. You can probably find a copy of it on kazaa with English subtitles.

One of the best books i've ever read, basically the story is the govt. has set up a "program" where they randomly select a 9th grade class (i think) and there put on an island. The point is you have to kill all your classmates (49 of them) within 3 days and if noone is killed within 24 hours everyone dies (?). I have yet to seen the movie, my cousin has downloaded but can't find an encoder that'll put it on cd. Read the book or dl the movie!

Rocket Boys - About Homer Hickam, the guy who was one of the pioneers of the US space program.

Never saw the movie, but it was an interesting book.

It was much in the same vein as Billy Elliot (without the dancing of course). I would recommend it :)

I thought of some more, Once Upon A Time In A America, Shallow Grave and After Hours. I love these flicks, and nobody, I know, has seen them.

I wouldn't say this is a movie no ones seen but I can hopefully safely say the majority of people born from within the last 20 years has not seen 'Tora Tora Tora!' The original Pearl Harbour movie with James Whitmore, Jason Robards and more. A great cast, and a fantastic war movie for it's time (realism wise).

I'm gonna have to say "Pi", by the brilliant young director - Darren Aronofsky (director of "Requiem for a Dream"). Brilliantly written, directed, and acted. If you enjoy more intelectual movies, and like abstract plot structures, then you should definately check this one out.....;)
