I take this post as a cry for help, this poor guys brain has been polluted with pop music crap. I have taken it upon my self to help the OP, even if they don't want it
OK first, you don't need much money, the good thing about liking GOOD music, is that it's usually cheap. Heres some cds worth getting, you'l thank me later (if your sane):
Lou Reed - Transformer
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - One Hot Minute
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
Metallica - And Justice for All
Theres a few, now go and buy them, they are all cheap and should help you. Upon listens, these cds will expand your mind, you will suddenly say to your self "OMG the stuff I used to listen to is rubbish, these bands have 20 billion times more talent...and I don't look like a pre teen girl listening to them".
Oh and anything by bob dylan from his earlier days is also great.

And yes, metallica do indeed rule...ish. Last few albums were stinkers, but I hear they still put on a great live show.
