What's your favourite modern-day supercar and why? We all had dreams of owning a Countach, but, given the choice of today's line-up, what would you choose?
Mine would have to be the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, it's beautiful, loud and above all, fast.

Define "modern-day". What's your date cut-off, or is it just things that are currently in protection.

Bentley Contenental. It it a classy luxury vehicle. classy is the way. Classic style.

Corvette.

From the base LS3 model to the wild LS7 Z06 with all it's race track bred engine goodies, to the top tier cruise missile ZR-1 with it's supercharged LS9. There is a level of performance for every buyer. Corvettes are attainable and dependable as well. They may use push rod single cam V8's, but they are some of the greatest motors GM have ever built.

May not have the exclusivity of other cars, but these days, exclusivity is really a thing of the past, unless it's a low volume car. What's not exclusive about a ZR-1 anyways? The current model Corvette is the most well developed, well rounded Corvette ever. It always makes great music as well. I know there are plenty of reasons people don't like them, I don't care really, I've made up my mind :D

Released after 2005 or still on sale/ in production.

Should scrub the NSX really then.

Mind you, there aren't many on your list I'd even class as supercars in the first place. You're also missing things like the Koenigseggs, the Veyron and the McLaren Mercedes SLR - and if you're putting the Corvette in as a supercar, why no Viper or GT-R?

Who calls the Continental a supercar? Its barely any more super than late-model Lincoln Continental.

Oooh, snap.

I'd consider the Corvette a sports car anyhow... I'm not sure what Supercar means to me anymore. Most brands high performance models can rival older Supercars now a days anyhow.

Edit: The Zonda and Saleen I would consider to be Supercars.

That's what the "Other" option's for.
But yes, I agree, I forgot about the NSX's release date and I apologise.

So is the VW Passat it is based on.

The Conti runs on a modified Phaeton platform.... and the Conti Supersport is definitely a 'Supercar'.

For me it would have to be a Zonda F clubsport (the coupe version).

Incredible performance, handling and noise, coupled with stunning looks and bespoke build... plus it's mega exclusive.

Most of what you have included are what belong under "other".

To be quite honest, if you wanted me to somehow change the options, you could've sent me a private message, or asked, but you decided to effectively ruin this thread, so you may as well lock/delete it, the "mood" is ruined.

Wow. Way to overreact.

Sorry that you don't feel your topic is strong enough to survive even twenty posts of discussion.

What exactly would the point of PMing you be on a discussion board?

It's not like he doesn't have a valid point. Since when was an M3 considered a supercar?

I have to vote against my favorite car of all time (911) because it is not a supercar. Zonda FTMFW!

Low blow, as I'm sure you know tone of voice is non recognisable through the internet, so you got the wrong end of the stick.
You'll probably reply
"Well then, why didn't you state in what way you meant in this reply?" or something similar, but if it's okay, could you delete this post and put this whole "kerfuffle" behind us, you may reply,
"No, you're banned."
But I imagine you're a reasonable chap, and you're above that childish behaviour.

You asked me to close the thread, after blaming me for "ruining" it.

What? Not only does none of that make any sense, I don't get what banning has to do with anything.

You've included a list of cars which aren't supercars and one which wasn't available in your timeframe (2005 to present) and excluded some very obvious supercars. Your explanation is that this is what "other" is for. Makes for a very poor and skewed poll.

Either the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Spider or the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder. Both have amazing styling and just have something about them that makes me go "wow". I don't care if they aren't the fastest either. If I was in the market for a supercar the first thing I would look at is the styling, with the second thing being if I can take the roof off and still have it look good.
