What are your favourite tracks in GT2 and why ?

Mine are:

Seattle Circuit - Excellent test of suspension, braking points, and cornering strategies. If your car is the least bit unstable, you're going to be fighting it all day on this track.

Red Rock Valley - Easy-going course that's fun to drive. Many people make the mistake of cutting corners, which is actually slower.

Grand Valley - Long, technical course. A stable suspension isn't as crucial as say Seattle or Trial Mountain, but is still important. Braking points are essential, especially on the hairpins.

Apricot Hill - Fairly easy course that's fun to drive. If you get your braking points down, you shouldn't have much trouble.

Midfield is also fun, though quite easy.

Seattle is my all-time favorite. Special Stage R5 is also fun, it's a nice change to see the car with its lights on. ;)

That's also my favourite track and for the same reason! I always go there to setup my cars, unless i'm making a setup for a specific track, of course.
Great track to make general setups as you can test it under many different situations.

Grand Valley - This was my favourite in GT1 and now everytime i go there it reminds me of old times...

Autumn Ring - My favourite for low powered cars. Has some nice drifting points.

Apricot Hill and Midfield - Not sure why... i just like them :p

Grindelwald - Just love those fast turns.

Super Speedway - For it's Nascar feeling.

Rome Night - My favourite track for night driving. Unfortunately it's out of the Sim disc... :(

My answer here is always the same: I try and not have any favorites...this leads to a personal bias for certain tracks and then I'll tend to learn them and neglect the places I don't like. For instance, it took me awhile to get the hang of Tahiti Maze and (in GT1) Route 11 because when I first drove on them I was like “no way” but now i love them both.

But in GT2, I'd have to say Rome Nite, Grindelwald and Red Rock Speedway are good because they are specific only to GT2, can't find them in other games. Tahiti (not the rally track but the paved one) missed the mark here...it's the crappiest looking track graphically, but it could have been good. Other faves are Autumn Ring, Grand Valley, Seattle, Rome Full course...I love the enduros at those last 3 tracks. Laguna rules cuz it's a real place. I watched a GT race recently on ESPN (I think) and it featured BMWs, Mazdas, Acuras, etc...from some camera angles it looked just like the game!

I'm not as good at some reversed tracks (Rome Short II, Clubman Route 5 II, and Seattle Short II) and I cringe whenever they show up in an Event Generator series. blea.

I own Trial mountain!!!! I seem to be a bit different type of driver, in that I preferr superbly handling , somewhat underpowered cars (like the '86 Toyota MR2 1600 supercharged), so tracks like Trial Mountain and SS Rte5 (full) are heaven for those looking to push the envelope on lateral G's. However, much like Parnelli, I have driven so much in GT that I cannot leave any out, and I also LOVE Laguna Seca. If anyone wants, I think I still have a taped copy of the Championship finale race at Laguna Seca for the Amaerican Le Mans series races. AWESOME!!

Does anyone know if any other tracks in gt/gt2 are real tracks or at least based on real tracks????

Club man Route 5 and Route 11 Are my favourite. They kick arse with different types of corners! Love the night time lighting too. Sometimes it actualy looks as if the car chrome is vaguely representing the track.

Laguna is the only real track in GT2. Seattle is based on real-life streets and so is Rome. Tahiti? Could be. Jordan went to Europe this past summer and visited the town of Grindelwald, but I think he couldn't find any area that reminded him of the track in our game.

I so wish they'd re-instated Grindelwald for GT4. That is the best track I've played in any GT game. The uphill bit at the start and then the brilliant downhill bit meant you could go well fast. I tested pretty much every car at that track. The current game hasn't any created tracks that match this at all. El Capitan is good but Grindelwald is just the mutss nuts.

The mutss nuts? hmmm.

I agree.....Rome Nite, Grindelwald, and Red Rock woulda been stellar with a rehash in GT3 or 4. I guess since they knew they were gonna eventually get Nuburgring (sorry, I know that's spelled wrong) they figured they'd just drop Grindelwald.

The tracks i like are Grindelwald and the Pikes Peak.
Grindelwald/is just so much fun:) .
Pikes Peak/just 2 words,HILL CLIME:crazy:  !!!!

Laguna Seca for it's amazing corkscrew:crazy: and the great many race changing moments involved and also for it's real life existence. There is nothing better than racing muscle cars on Laguna Seca unless it is racing Supercars on Laguna Seca. Tis a shame that the TVR Speed is offered on Red Rock and not this course because I believe the All Stars are better here. The GT500 is even tougher yet.

I also very much enjoy Seatle Circuit, Red Rock valley, Rome Circuit, Apricot hill and Pikes Peak in about that order. I am glad for the others because I really think the variety of tracks speaks of a job well done by PD:tup: .

Grand Valley - Only thing that gives a real challenge when your driving a FR or MR car, really fun especially with an Camaro '97! (untuned, that is.)

Red Rock Valley Speedway rocks!!! Try beating the All stars with a basic stock dealer gt-40 with Super Softs.

Rome Night is also Very Nice! Imagine a F1 race on that track :)

Apricot Hill Speedway, Autumn Ring and Autumn Mini Ring - the best of the best's!

deep forest! and apricot hill, grand valley, midfield. and monaco from gt3 is amazing (cote de azur)

Hey bro, welcome back. How's that Volkswagen? I think that's what you were restoring, right?

Yeah, I love Cote, too. It seems hard at first but each corner is so unique that I found it easier to learn than SSR11.
