Oh, my GOD
look @ the"read" thread @ the top of this page....
edit: just to remind you, you can't magically drift, its practiced, refined, repracticed, refinded again
you can never actually just "drift" when you want, you need to practice!

well said Half :).when I FINALLY learned how to drift,it had been almost 2 years after I had bought the game, with me practicing on how to drift about 1 year and 8 months of that time :p.I was actually hoping that one day when I wake up,that I would automatically know how to drift with like, any car..but,to my disappointment, and my dreams,I knew it wasn't gonna be easy :p.I would spend at least 3 to 4 hours practicing every 5 to 6 days of a full week,I'd at least give myself some kinda break from it ya know :p.well,anyways....to put it simple,I agree with Half, cause that's how it is..you must practice pretty hard to learn how to drift, thanks for sharing your wisdom with us once again Half :D

there's a guide on how to drift that's well explained by the master himself Cudaman *plays hero music*. he explains how to drift very well and i hope many people would take advantage on how he describes it.

drifting takes a while for everyone because they all have their own style. like me i like to floor the button [or the gas] sometimes when i drift and i spin out. it really depends on your drifting style. if you want to drift like Cudaman you have to make sure that your countersteer and your acceleration input is well balanced in order for it to look good in the replays.

i hope that answered your question :)

I know that drifting takes practice and it cannot be done magically, I'm not an idiot, but is there any specific differences in drifting a FC to other cars that should be known to help practice?

well,I thought it would be an announcement of "wisdom" ^_^! oops...*_*!

well, anyways,Dustin, nobody in here called you and idiot you know, and you're obviously not one,but here's a basic concept to understand...all FR cars drift pretty much the same --- all MR cars drift differently than an FR car..well,sometimes ---- all RR cars are,well...kind of hard to drift, that I've found out anyways, such as the Porsche ---- all 4WD cars can be kind of hard to drift with, without using handbrake cause of the weight they have on them..well,most of the time anyways ---- and all FF vehicles mainly drift with the handbrake,well...that's all I've found out anyways

well said, all of it,

but ... er. =\ I'm new, who is this cudaman, I read about people using some of his setups for drifting in another thread...

and ae, you posting about AWD being hard to drift, that made me think, does anyone have a good drifting setup for the R34 skyline Vspec II? I havn't seen any anywhere and kind of accidentally stumbled across my own setup that I've been using

Seis - hmmm...a drift setup for an R34 huh?well...I used to drift with my Nissan Skyline R32 V-SPEC II (Solid Black) a looooooong time ago,by using the handbrake, but that was the only way I could drift with it,but my exiting speed on it is like,40 to 50 mph,so it's not that great to do...but then again,my acceleration on my R32 is very well made ^_^,hehe

P.S. I would refer to Cudaman as the GT3 god of drifting,well...till I find someone better anyways =P,hehe. His settings are quite nice actually,it's just having the patience to get the hang of them =P,ah your settings on your FC are difficult CUDAMAN :p!

---that's why I set my own FC up---

yes from what I read he sounded like it,

as far as your r32 exit speed and initiating it with e brake, that was my major complaint about trying to setup most of the skylines and my complaint about most skyline "drift" setups...

I'm still quite proud of mine, exit speed and entry speed both look impressive but I can't say that I've looked at the actual numbers lately because I just recently plopped gt3 back into the ps2 (where it will stay for a few good months)

well,I'd have to say though, for some odd reason..the best Skyline I've found good to drift with, would happen to be the GT-S M Type Skyline ^_^,I CAN actually drift with that Skyline, but all the other ones,it's reeeally hard to do for me =P.but I did have fun trying to drift in the Mine's Skyline, hehe :p.

P.S. it's good to know that your GT3 has a good home ;)
