After the completion of the scheduled maintenance on the GT5 online servers, there is no new patch yet.

Kaz promised "Features & Content" for both September and October, so we appear to be at least another week away from the next patch.

No new maintenance schedule yet to confirm when this may be though.
 
Keep in mind they recently moved their offices to the southern end of the Island. This maintenance was probably getting things set up in their new location. Be patient.

What, you don't think they have business continuity plans in Japan?
 
I don't think it's very likely they keep their servers in their offices either. But then again, this is PD we're talking about. ;)
 
I wouldn't call it a promise either going off other 'promises' PD and Kaz have made in the past...
 
The online service of Gran Turismo 5 will undergo maintenance during the following hours:

Start: 09/22/2011 03:00 BST
Finish: 09/22/2011 04:00 BST

During the maintenance, it will not be possible to connect to any of the online services.

*Please note that the exact times of the maintenance may slightly vary.
 
I got the impression that they were keeping their original offices in addition to the new ones. They could easily have servers at both, with collocation and replication, which could create the maintenance we have been seeing to get setup.

This could also be prepping the system for new features and functionality. As we saw in the past, patches can come without the maintenance periods, so this makes me hopefully for big improvements.

Downloaded from PD, now I can use the new content, as long as I'm on line. Yes



Downloaded and saved so that I could use off line also? No.

Either way, it's technically downloaded content, and new.

Hmm, you accessed their servers, didn't download anything. Not DLC.

Thats not really what Kaz or any of us call DLC. DLC would be the downloadable cars like the Schick Camaro SS, stealth cars, chrome line cars, Gamestop NASCAR, etc.
 
Well yes Kaz did say that features & content were coming , he also said " DLC is probably coming.... "

I really don't like the way this company ( PD ) operates. I mean , how vague is his DLC statement ? What's the deal with little Tweets that always say nothing ? Could he not of just stated last xmas that they were rendering cars & tracks and we''ll get it , it takes time , but we will see it ?

It's all very unprofessional , disorganised & poorly run.
I bet Kaz still doesn't know what he wants to put in the game.
He's probably sat at his desk right now wondering if we will like his ideas for multi-coloured helmet carriers in display cases , customisable side window tint colour options , & my personal favourite .....

*Edit* Cast your mind back to before we got the PP system. Kaz put out a tweet talking about it. Now think about this. It's mid/late September , so where is the excited Kaz talking about cars and tracks?

I hope they pun drag racing in gt5, offline and online implemented, otherwise in braking my gt5 disc in half and get on woth forza 4 :)

Spelling misstakes...but honestly, i hope they put drag racing feature in gt5, otherwise i throw my gt5 disc.
 
There was a lot of stuff PD didn't put in the game due to the time Sony gave them to release it. Remember seeing a video b4 gt5 came out showing a flag system in races and lots of other bits, I started a thread for dlc and got smacked for it due to everyone apparently knowing it was never going to happen. I still think there missing a massive revenue stream that would help to kick forza 4 in to touch.
 
For me will be a good idea to add some tracks and premium cars:D

time ago I read something about a Ferrari P4/5 Competizione!!:drool:
Will be nice to drive again in Apricot Hill and New York and also as some says drag race will be funny too.
 
The same subject of content availability and what it will provide.. This has been beaten with more than just A stick, more like A truck!

PD havent really given us anything "real", nor any real features. I mean, even if they give us features that was in previous games, so what? That stuff should have been in the game from the beginning. I disslike PD because they never tell us the truth, they pull lies on us, like they did with the customisable gear box, according to them it would be impossible to implement...yeah right.

Instead they throw a bunch of useless things like racing gear and other stuff, so we should focus on collecting instead of enjoying the game. I still dont forgive PD for not implementing drag race, since the interest is huge (just look at the tuning forums).
 
I'm not sure about anyone else but part of me really feels that PD should now get on with GT6. GT5 was a disappointment, but with all the time and progress they've had there would be no excuse for GT6.
 
don't waste your time hoping, there have been no additional driving features (i.e. cars and tracks) since realise. I see no reason to think they'll change a habit of a lifetime now.

As far as i'm concerned i'm moving house next month, if there's none of content that been promised and implied for years available by the time the net gets sorted, i'm through with the GT series and moving on to Forza
