I've noticed this for a long time and never really thought much about it.

I recently pointed it out to a few people, am beginning to realize not many people have seen this before.

Have you ever seen the Arrow in the Fedex logo?

I think it's coincidence. It would be more prominent if it was deliberate.

It looks like a co-incidence to me, although I suppose it wouldn't be there unless the letter spacing was as tight as it is, so it could be deliberate for all I know

I've never seen a FedEx truck though, so it's not something I've noticed before.

Watch Der Alta send an email to them if it was deliberate, they'll email back it was and you'll see a ton of commercials by them with that arrow more prominent in them.

Yes, it was a deliberate design move.

Very interesting and very subtle.

Cool though.

Yeah, a friend pointed that out to me several months ago. Very interesting.

How about how it says "Express" after FedEx? In essence, the logo on that van says "Federal Express Express."
Yeah, that must be an even quicker express service.

You would think too, that if they wanted an arrow, they would want it facing forward

Wouldn't it be abit confusing if they wrote it in reverse just so the arrow pointed the correct way?

Never noticed it before. I'll have to see if any of my friends notice it. I'm not exactly the most observant person....

The arrow is pointing towards the slow UPS truck behind them...

Good spot Der Alta! I've never noticed that either.

It is a good marketing trick to have something that isn't 100% obvious in your logo so that everytime someone notices it they find it interesting enough to point it out to others. Eventually you have a sub group (as in a group of friends/online community) constantly pointing out their logo as well as having everyone in that group instantly notice a familiar logo that they ignored before.

Everyone who has viewed this thread has now become brand concious of FedEx for the next month or so.

Good point. I hadn't thought of that before.

Very smart. Its becoming less and less common to see clever marketing like that.... or marketing types are becoming better at this sort of thing...

That's the joy of the strategy. People say look at this arrow, but they point at a logo. They aren't even aware that they made you notice an advertising logo.
