I think it's a complete coincidence. Do you know how many words there are that have an "E" and a "x" consecutively placed? They all form an arrow when you put the letters colse. And the arrow is pointing backwards. Shouldn't it be pointing forward, likke saying "We get there, no matter what, we're moving forward, we're making innovations to get you your stuff"? Why the heck would they point it backwards? "Hey, the door is back here. Yeah, that's where your stuff comes out." That's just dumb. I bet, if the arrow wasn't highlighted in that picture, that I would have gotten bored looking for it and gave up. No regular person on the street is going to take the time to look for that. If it is deliberate, Fed Ex needs to hire some new sales design psychologist people.

EDIT: Ahhhh......the clever advertising thing. It's brainwashing, I'm telling you, brainwashing! Clever advertising annoys me, especially when someone points out that I'm hooked on a sales tag. Arrghhh!

How many of those words have the letters with almost no space between them and are the perfect size and font to create a perfectly shaped arrow? They don't do it in the word Express or in their fedex.com website, just on the logo. Logos are designed with intent, just as the color combination is also eye catching.

And it is pointing backwards on this side of the van but on the other side it is forward. On Amercan streets they pull up to the curb on the right so that customers and potential customers see it facing forwards.

If they were mad tyte driftaz y0!, they'd have the logo back-to-front on the left side.

That arrow has pissed me off, I will never ship via Fedex again!

Haha that would be my response too:lol: Give them what they want is the last thing I would do.

But nevermind that, cause obviously FedEx transports tofu, right Famine?;):sly:

Well, unfortunately they are an American company and as such think that NASCAR is racing.

I'll stick with UPS. Not only is there a UPS depot about a mile from my house, but their commercials are way funnier. Dale Jarret just cracks me up!

woah, I never noticed that. And I still didnt notice it until it linked at me. I thought something was gonna jump out and scream at one point

Reminds me about the time Pepsi came out with those cans that would spell out "SEX" when you stacked and lined them up properly. Although, you really had to use your imagination to read it, though. But, that arrow is plain as day.

Since we're on the subject of delivery companies and logos -

My former place of employment makes and installs decals, striping, lettering, stickers (take you pick) for vehicles. We had a delivery company come in to have us install the decals they already had. When we spread out the decals to lay them out before we installed them on the delivery truck (the decals are in teh area of 4' tall by 15' long) we then noticed that it is the same either way.

Behold:

BTW, it stands for eXcellent People Equals Delivery eXcellence.

As soon as I saw the thread title, I knew what it was about. This is funny, my brother noticed this just couple of weeks ago also. I've known about the arrow in their logo for years............ because I used to be a shipping clerk. I even used to ship Ford parts, exclusively to FedEx. That was a great job, until one day, we went our separate ways. :(

I always thought my mind was messing with me, as when i would point it out to my friends they wouldn't see it, and say im seeing stuff.

The arrow is pointing towards the slow UPS truck behind them...

Which explains why UPS delivers packages in a non-damaged state... Due to a damaged entertainment system shelf shipped by FedEx that we ordered from Circuit City online, I will not have purchases shipped via them anymore if I can avoid it.

I think we even have pictures of the damage somewhere. We shipped the damaged shelf back for a replacement.

Back on topic:

I've never noticed that before... Nifty.

and after my boring self Googled it

Federal Express Corp. spokesman Jess Bunn
“The arrow was indeed intentional as a secondary design element... If the viewer sees it, it's a neat, interesting visual bonus. If the viewer doesn't see it, that's OK. It's still a powerful logo. The arrow is intended to communicate movement, speed and the dynamic nature of our company,”

Today on campus, there was a Fedex truck parked on one side of the street, and a UPS truck parked on the other. From a slight distance, the Fedex arrow appeared to be pointing at the UPS truck. Methinks it's collusion

OK, lets take this in a new direction.

How about the A to Z arrow in the amazon.com logo?

Or the double arrows in the e-trade logo?

Wow... They're everywhere. :)
