No action (regrettably: one of them was lovely)

You do have to maintain a degree of politeness, so I would say that ball-scratching etc is OK to a point, as long as you're not dropping them out and having a real old go with a toothbrush.

yeah especially not her toothbrush But anyway I never lived with anyone from the opposite sex, but a good friend of mine did for awhile, and according to him it sucked, but I guess it really depends on the girl.

I dunno if you can call sisters "roommates", but I have some general warnings I've learned from living this past 1.5 decades.

1. Watch out when that certain time of month comes around...
2. Teach them how to use the remote, that way they aren't calling you into the room every 5 minutes when they want to change the channel
3. Don't assume they'll cook for you, because it is a rare event
4. Open your ears, because if you start talking with them, they won't shut up (they even talk through the bathroom door sometimes, it's scary).
5. Organize things yourself so that when they move in they won't organize it for you and make it so you can't find anything (closet technique doesn't work)
6. Be nice, tormenting them and playing pranks won't get you very far at all
7. Put the seat down (or else...)

That's about all I can think of for now, follow those rules and you should be fine...

Mostly, it depends on your temprament.
Women can be hard to live with. AND that's if you happen to be sharing a bed, and sticky body fluids.

When you have a platonic situation, as long as you have some set rules, and are not sharing a bathroom, it could be cool.

I have had a few. The first one started out nice, but became a psyco after a few months. It started off with strict platonic rules... and yes, separate bathrooms. But then when I brought a girl friend over to stay the night, my roomie started shamelessly shagging all my friends.... She eventually asked me if I was interested.... I moved out. Didn't need the headache.

I prefer women as roommates because they add a sence of home to a place.... unless you don't like women.

Just keep it completely platonic. If you start shagging your roomie the whole mood of the house will change. You have now entered a relationship weather you want to admit it or not. All relationships are a give and take that I like to call sharing... If you can't give freely and share without strigns....... Keep it in your pants...... or it will cost you.

Anyway it's just advice.... take it or leave it. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

When I said I never had a roommate of the ope site sex. thats not completely true about 2 years ago I did have to share the basement With my cousin for almost 3 months, cause she got into a huge fight with her slept mom. It wasn't that bad,the bathroom thing got a little annoying, but when two people share one bathroom I guess it doesn't matter who it is its going to be a pain in the azz sometimes,but all in all it was kind of fun we use to set around and get high every night when we got home from work.
