That weaving on the straight is a puntable offence
I've currently got "Use me as a corner guide you're getting punted" as my greeting for the Daily Race B at Kyoto Driving Park, the morons are out in force this week and my SR has taken a battering. If Alonso had of tried that BS in front of me then SR be damned, he'd have found himself launched into orbit come the final chicane!

Alonso is a very "interesting" GTS driver lol

Absolutely stunned that the chief inspiration for Spanish drivers weaves like that tbh.

TBH both races the Fuji and LeMans were absolutely a wreckfest and filled with dirty moves but they were having fun.

Yeah just to clarify, there were no stewards watching the race and penalties were toned down.Boost was on and there were no fuel/tire wear,it was just for fun and a nice break from the intense championship races.

Watched this live, both races were very entertaining. Alonso was clamoring for bottles in the first race, and I'm happy he got lots of them in the second race.

Are people really judging Alonso on a "blocking" technique he used in a video game? I don't even think he did much wrong.

He is a racing driver. Playing a racing game gives him and them the chance to have fun and yeah, maybe bend the rules in a way which he and they cannot do in real life due to the mortal consequences.

It's different for us non-racing drivers, who might use a racing game as a fantasy and therefore apply the real world driving standards and sportsmanship we all think we're the best at. For us, it's a fantasy roleplay; for them, it's a fun bit of escapism. I really don't see a problem with a racing driver having a bit of fun with a racing game. More so than anything else, it is extremely humanising.

Not gonna lie, I didn't see it that way at all. Alonso's one of my all-time idols, probably only second to Ayrton Senna. I had an expectation that he's going to show a perfect form of skill and racecraft, so I was sorely disappointed when I saw him weaving like that

I'm taking this game too seriously  that's true, maybe he just did want to have a bit of fun :)

I didn't watch it. Had Zo compared this simulator to the one he uses in F1?
