That's... a bit of a boring pick. Nothing against the car, but it's one I could imagine showing up in the series through the normal channels - it's not like there's not precedent for them adding interesting '60s Ferraris.

It's more interesting when they pick something a bit off the rails that is never getting into GT any other way, like the Invicta last year.

Hopefully there is a physics update as rumoured, and it fixes the 500 Mondial, because you're right, that car currently feels like an Assetto Corsa mod someone hasn't properly built.

I miss the event articles on the official Gran Turismo website they used to show photos of the cars, the other nominees for the GT award, and very interesting brief descriptions for the cars.

I think the last one they uploaded to the site was for the 2021 edition.

One question I have about the GT award is, is there a jury that selects the cars, or is it handled solely by Yamauchi (and in this case, Takuya Asano)? Does anyone know?

With this one, that makes 10 cars that have not yet been recreated in the game.

From my understanding, it's Yamauchi-san's choice. There are other PD employees there (like Asano-san) who I'm sure advise him, but it's his call. He probably picked this one remotely, too. That's how it worked at previous GT Awards when he wasn't able to attend SEMA.

Very cool pick! I still wonder if the 330 P4 CN.0856 that won the GT Trophy some years ago will eventually replace CN.0858, which we’ve had in the series since GT5? (The latter also is currently a berlinetta, not a spider, and hasn’t been a spider since 1967.) I’d imagine we’d likely need to wait for the next installment to see if that happens…

Put it this way, let’s say PD get busy modelling the a Ferrari today, we wouldn’t see it until April. I can see GT7 still being alive for a few more years.
