Right out of the Top Gear book of scripted mishaps. On the upside, the 458 looks quite nice in that livery.

Any thoughts?

Facepalm anyone?
Voilà:

Way to go Ferrari. Actually, I heard it was the local Ferrari dealership that cocked up. The word stupid should be in that last sentence somewhere...

Wow, imagine they would've made the wall coming down, the Mongolians would be everywhere in China now. :O

But seriously, that was just plain stupid. I mean, lifting the car on the wall for a photoshoot, okay, but doing donuts on it? Come on.

Anyone else find it funny that Ferrari is playing the gun seller's part?

"oh I just sold it...he is the one that pulled the trigger."

The Chinese, by and large, don't really do preservation anyways. I don't see the big deal. They don't seem to care too much about their own history.

At least it didn't catch fire when on the wall...

This is probably the equivalent of doing burnouts around Stonehenge.

Or building a major road next to it or a tunnel uner it... :odd:

Not really Ferrari HQs fault to me, atleast they took the responsibility for it. Chances are it was a local that organised it anyway.

I see what you did there :sly:

You would have thought that a local of all people would know the cultural / historical significance of something. Its usually the bumbling international crews who go and desecrate something without knowing!

Regardless of who's fault it is its still going to hurt Ferrari HQ in sales and image and in the worlds biggest market to boot. Owning up right away was a good decision.

Since when are doughnuts a "high speed car stunt"?

If you wanted to get technical then it is a "Car Stunt" in a "high speed car" but i do agree with you

LOL.
People are making a big deal, like they crashed the car and knocked it over.
Tire marks won't hurt a thing.

I should also point out that I was far, far more interested in the two F15s dogfighting over the visitor centre than I was of the monuments!

I'm sure they knew, whether they cared is a different matter!
