McLaren F1 is better in all. ALL.

I understand what you're saying. The only other car I would feel to be a "Super Car" is the F40. I still think the McClaren is better.

If you say the F1 is the 1st true 'supercar', then by definition you discount cars that came before the F1 and are clearly 'supercars' by any sane persons understanding of the term.

You're entitled to have an opinion, but in this case your opinion is a minority of 1... so don't be surprised if people think that opinion is a little 'off the wall'!

Yev
Are you serious? No way.
The F1 is the ultimate driver's car, no supercar ever came close to it.
Big luggage space, 3 seats, it's much more comfortable, no electronic gizmos and it handles better.
Facts.

Sorry, but the reality does not equal the legend.

The F1 was (and still is) an amazing car. It's straight line performance is still incredible even today and it's 3 seat layout is still innovative.

But the simple fact is that compared to a modern 'supercar', it's just not in the same league handling wise. An Enzo would absolutely annihilate an F1 on the track (as would any number of 21st century cars)... that's what 20 years of suspension, brake, tyre and aerodynamic progress does.

The F1 has the straight line performance to match anything this side of a Veyron, but it's brakes are rubbish, it has limited traction, it's steering is super heavy, it has no driver aids to help contain it's incredible performance, and it's too softly sprug and suffers from excessive roll, pitch and yaw as a result... it wouldn't see which way an Enzo went on a track or on a public road... and I'd think it would struggle on track against any modern car that weighs under 1,500kg and has >500bhp.

No.
Nothing will ever come near the F1 (maybe Pagani Zonda F got somewhat close).
And Enzo faster on SS7 than the F1? Erm...how about no?

In what specific way will nothing come close?

IMO, nothing will come close to the innovative design and engineering of the F1. But the Veyron has already eclipsed it's straight line performance, and as I said, any number of modern cars would be faster around a track.

Edit...

You should buy both. Both look amazing and are fast. I got both and bot and I only drove my Enzo. I prefer less overpowered cars. But I personally think the F1 is better. Its lighter and it steers better.

The one that should be compared with McLaren would be the CLK GT-R ( both race cars on GT5 ) :O xD. Big big Rivals. Remember them from old NFS.

Shmorgusborg
Wow, have a fit why don't you.

Fine let me rephrase it so you can get your panties untwisted.

I personally believe that the F1 was the first super car. It's my personal belief that that the F1 was the first true super car. I personally feel that the F1 was the first true super car. Deep down in side, I personally think the F1 was the first true super car.

Untwisted yet? Sure hope so.

And just in case they're still bundled up, let me throw this in there as well.

It's my personal....wait for it....almost there....OPINION that the F1 was the first true production super car.

Have a nice day. :sly:

Brilliant .... LOL :)

Even if I havent really droven the F1, it deserves way more respect from me then an Enzo. Like Smorghusberg said xD, it was indeed the car that made supercars popular imo.

Made Supercars popular with who exactly? People who are now 20 years old?

How do you define cars like the Lamborghini Countach - a car that in my young teens, myself and almost all my mates would drool over?

For us, the Countach was the 1st Supercar... though as I have got older and more knowlegable, I now recognise that the Muira started the genre.

Kids, FFS... think nothing existed before they were born.

Yes but, the popularity of supercars was really dropped in the 90's. Of course were/are those cars HOT. Sorry for not being clearly enough ;). And yes Im near 18 but I know what you mean xD. I also got a big countach toy car in my old toy box lol.

Dropped? What about the 288GTO, XJ220, 959 and F40... all of which launched in the years before the F1.

Hmm.. xD

Yes... the F40 :O

But the F1 did boost the love for supercars most though. At least for the youngsters xD.

Those cars were made at the early 90's, and the XJ220 wasnt my favorite car to be honest xD.

But I get your point. Were getting to much off topic xD.

My favorite supah car is a E30 :D

"already"

you mean 11 years later?

those lap times don't mean anything and i hope you know why.

I think that it's more so a decision you have to make of which one looks better in silver chrome paint. :dopey:
