Am I the only one that noticed through out the trailer the cars headlights? Most of the trailer its off.

But here the headlights are on. Does this indicate dynamic night/day or even a toggle to turn the lights on or off?

Thoughts?

Lighs are on near all the time.

The beginning sequence is not in-game, but the on-track footage showed is likely in-game graphics I assume. So I believe it may really look that good.

Yea, just with more AA

I still don't get your point.

They are both not real, you don't know how they were made, none of us do, it doesn't matter either, the GT5 one looks more realistic, simple.

I think it's pretty obvious how both were made. The Forza vid was made using replays and a variety of camera angles. You'll notice every scene in that wid was of the cars ON track. Using the export function people will be making vids that look just like that.

The GT 5 was ( at least in part ) CGI using in game assets. The car is not on a track, it's in some dark mysterious place where they play with lightsources and DOF effects. It looks very much like a car commercial.

We will be able to export our replays to YouTube in GT 5 but there were elements of that trailer that we aren't going to be able to reproduce ourselves.

The best we can do is guess....
It will be spectacular if dynamic night.day will be in the game.

It wasn't mentioned on the list released at gamescom.

So you think forza 3 looks just as good in game as Gt5 in so called CGI?

Yea on 1:35 and in the tunnel. But not the entire time.

So that must mean something dont you think?

Cause I so badly want dynamic weather.

Thers something with it for sure, we need just to wait and se what.

Did you accidentally quote the wrong post?

Earlier you said that to you, both car models look the same or equally as good. Do you still stand by that point, or are you know saying GT5 looks better because it's CGI?

Day/Night in realtime with damage, rain and 16 cars on track in that graphics? I don´t think that the PS3 has the power for all that...

I wonder how the PS3 can handle that GT5P graphics...

wow! I come home from school and I find this! One of not many dream cars I wanted to see in GT and there it is in all its glory :D

You live in the same town as me! Well, almost, I'm in Hedge End... 👍

Look at those clouds, seriously dark, think its going to rain soon! Can someone post a pick of the clouds in that section of the ring from GT4?

The HD version of the Gran Turismo Tribute to the F458 is on GTTV in GT5Prologue and is beautiful. 170ish MB. Wishful thinking but do you think PD has slipped the 458 into GTPSP?.... One can dream... :D

Thanks for letting me know! It looks EPIC in HD on a nice tv. For anyone else who has prologue, go download this now on GTTV. It's pretty breathtaking.

CGI and CGI using ingame assets is not the same thing.

Based on the gameplay sections of those two trailers, where the cars are actually racing on a track, both models look pretty much identical.

The only differences are in lighting - GT 5's is better.

GT 5's lights ( as in tail lights ) are also probably superior. But Forza 3's tires and rims will probably look better.

And if we are taking into consider the models as a whole, the Forza model has damage modeling while the 458 in GT 5 probably won't.

I've very interested to hear the specific details about GT 5's damage modeling at TGS. Also if there will be a livery editor.

.....2 more days.

will do!!

As a side note, use the quote button to quote two people in one post, rather than double posting! Mod's don't take to kindly to it... I think they feel it looks untidy or something! ;)

Also, note the new track seen at the beginning of the vid and at 1:57.

Looks like a road in Italy to me.... Also reminds me of the Rally track in the E3 vid.
But on the road!

Pehaps it was created just for the video, but it looks far to well-made for that.

After seeing some of the tracks in GT5P on my 1080p HDTV and seeing Tokyo from the Gamescom demo, I don't see why it can't be possible that the tracks in the vid can be in-game.

The car however is mind-blowing but I think it may be possible for it to be in game too, but maybe with a few touch up on lighting....cause there are certain color/lighting themes that can make in-game textures on the car more realistic looking like the tunnel in Eiger Norwand. Cars in there literally look CG but it's still in-game as we know. Know what I mean?

It's getting harder and harder now to compare CGI and in-game footage in GT5 really.
