HELP!!! How do you do Suzuka in a 10?

I've golded the first three (not easy with T246 and its walls) and after temporarily giving up on Suzuka find I'm making headway on Eifel (what a track!) but I can't crack Suzuka at all..

That event should be renamed "Dodge the stupid ****ing AI as they brake WAY too early for every corner."

If you are using a DS3 you may want to try moving the sensitivity up to 7. It responds a lot faster and takes a lot of lag out of the stick with quicker turning cars.

I wish I did the FGT championship before I did the seasonal f1 race. The F2007 is a cake to drive compared to the FGT. I find I can even go near full throttle out of turns without spinning out (don't try that with a FGT). I pretty much was able to beat the races on my first try, usually in with a solid lead by lap 2.

Now I'm all frustrated with the FGT championship, with a much twitchier car, often causing me to spin out of the lead after 5 laps or so.

It surprises me that so many people seem to overlook a great tuning option that was given to us with patch 1.06. The main reason for spinning out is too much power at the back wheels. The FGT has far too much power for it's weight and is pretty much undriveable or at least, consistantly. Traction control is one option but traction control is bloody awful.

Go to your settings/engine and check out your engine limiter. Drop the bhp of the FGT to 600 and you have a car that handles not too differently from an F1 and gives simular laptimes. Drop it to 490bhp and you have an open wheel race car that is a breeze to drive.
You may struggle to win A-spec FGT races at 490bhp, but once you have mastered this car at this power....adding power by the 100's will teach your car that you're the boss of those rear wheels...not your car.

One more thing...increase the braking sensitvity in the LSD and maybe even lower the rear brake bias to help stop the back tearing away from you under braking.

Cool tip. Didn't thought of that 👍

(Going to tune down my X2010 to a 2CV as well :dopey:)

Exactly the same problem I had for two weeks. Wasn't able to complete a single race!

But then rather than fiddeling around with the settings I 've just changed my attitude to the race yesterday night:

Instead of trying to win I lowered my expectation to "Relax and just manage 10 laps without spinout" to get at least one race finished before they disappear - regardles of the final position.

Doing so I just went for early breaking or get of the gas in critical corners. And hey... after 6 or 7 laps I found myself in a somewhat 5th position with proceeding tendency. I just continued smooth driving style as I absolutely wanted to finish without spinout and passed the top opponent by the midle of the last lap. :dopey::dopey::dopey:
mumbeling "no mistake now, no mistake now, no mistake now,..."

This is a great tip. In the earlier versions of GT i realised pretty quick that i was racing the track all the time. Even when i was in the lead i was looking to get round at light speed, this would inevitably lead me to crash somewhere.

In Golf they call it course management. Don't aim for the best outcome, aim for an achievable one and build on that.

To be honest the only way I could get used to driving these cars was using the third person view. And then I was winning by .5 to .75 of a lap.

Zoom out so you can see everything and if you keep spinning out use the stability.

Took me a few tries on every track to get used to what I could and couldn't do with the ds3. Suzuka was the only track where I was always going to fast for the corners

For my F2007 i use:
TCS 1
ABS 1
Racing Soft tires
downforce maxed

My advice - be really gentle with throttle. A little too much while exiting a corner - spin.
After some practice i find those F1 races really easy. I take the lead in the beginning of the second lap on each track.

PS. I'm a DS3 user.

100% Agreed. I use a controller tho. Yeah, if you are leading at the end of lap 2, the race is all yours.
