A friend of mine recently converted his 360 Spyder to Challenge Stradale spec, the results are beautiful and i thought you guys might want to see the results so here it is
I don't really like the whole conversion idea. Fine, upgrade to Stradale parts (especially the exhaust system), but don't add Stradale stripes!
I agree about the stripes i think the Stradale looks better without them.
I only like the stripes on a red Stradale, with my personal favourite colour being the dark blue (without stripes). Since it's not a Stradale I don't think they should be on there, almost like putting STi badges on a WRX Impreza IMO.
I see your point, my Favourite would be TDF without stripes![]()
I'm not much of fan of the 360 in terms of looks, but that's certainly a car that could get people talking. I'd imagine plenty of people will see it and think it actually is a CS Spyder not realising none were made. For the purpose of recreating the CS look I dont mind the stripes, I mean I don't like them in general but it I think to not put them on with his goal in mind would have defeated the object. Looking at that car it's pretty much what you would expect a factory spec 360 CS Spyder to be if they made one and that's what appears to have been his aim, so I guess it's mission accomplished.
Hey I'm just impressed you got a friend with 2 Ferraris what a friend.![]()
Looks gorgeous. The 360 is one of the most beautiful Ferraris to me. The Berlinetta (I know it wasn't called that, but that's what it is) is still my favourite body style (especially as a CS) but the Spider still looks damn good.
As for the best colour for a CS, I'd have mine in Rosso Scuderia with the stripes. If you're going to have a car that loud and focused, you may as well have it in the most outgoing colour scheme. Blu Tour de France (or similar) looks gorgeous on many Ferraris (especially classics like the Dino) but it's too subtle for the CS
Great on a normal Spider though:

Reventón;3211006I must be the only one who really likes the CS best in Tour de France. Ever since I saw one in Houston, I've been attached. I also like the stripe on TDF as well.![]()
I think TDF suits the CS, here is a picture of another friends CS in TDF but with the stripe.
Point taken but when was the last time you saw a CS that was not Rosso?Don't get me wrong, TDF looks fantastic on the CS, but I prefer Rosso Corsa. It's virtually a race car anyway so might as well have a race-inspired paint scheme!
your friend has too much money o_o
Any idea of a ballpark figure on the cost of the conversion?
The cost was around 35K give or take a little.Any idea of a ballpark figure on the cost of the conversion?
A lot.![]()

Reventón;3212597For a company having so much pride in its racing cars, it seems to have missed the ball on what the 430 Scuderia is all about.![]()
Ferrari now seem to be catering for the mass market? what with the California and now a CS Spyder, they need to go back to their roots before we have an Italian Porsche on our hands![]()
That's if Ferrari actually sticks to that number.I'd hardly call a £180,000 car with a run of about 500 units mass market! And a very sceptical motoring press is giving the California rave reviews - Autocar & Car Magazine have both said they wanted to hate it, but it's just too good.
True, but for an exotic car maker, they are pretty high considering they push out nearly 30 cars a day.Ferarri are still producing cars that people want, and so far, they seem to be doing it without significantly erroding their core brand equity. If they were to announce a £50K 'entry' model, with V6 or turbo 4, I'd start getting worried, but as it is, they are still only produce in relatively tiny volumes.
