No incidents from me. A zero issue race from lapped cars or other cars, ect. Two accidental short cut penalties and two offs at the second chicane is it, but my car was pristine at the end.

Very tense in the middle part of the race when @Pedro Martins was cutting down my lead. I thought for sure we would have a side by side battle eventually in the race, though that never happened.

Hello guys,

Congratulations to the podium, for me it was one of the worst races ever I think :banghead: Earlier on the day, I did some practice with Vic and everything was going well. Was doing decent times, and at a stable pace.

My qualification was the worst time of the day…but that’s still ok. I was saying In the race anything can happen.

And it happened, but not for good. In the formation run, I saw that gueven had a little bit of lag, not to bad and was getting better. So I tried to stay a little bit behind him, suddenly he brakes, and I crash into him. So I destroy Gueven’s car (sorry for that) and mine.:ouch: So even before the race starts I need to enter the pits and lose already 45 sec on the first lap. I had some battles with Lee farther in the race, which was fun. For the rest, made to many mistakes. Hope that next one will be better.

i had a great race.
Started in 2nd place and got a kerb penalty on lap 2 that dropped me to 4th place, behind Agro , seven and eol.
I had a gap behind so was not under pressure, and was happy to run at the leaders pace in 4th place around 6 seconds back from agro.
around lap 8 seven ran wide at parabolica and dropped back and i was in 3rd behind eol who was gradually closing in on Agro, but i found my car very unstable when close to eol under heavy braking so dropped back a second or so and hoped he would keep closing in on agro, although i thought agro may have been just managing the gap rather than pushing hard.
Then on lap 14 as i was thinking if i should short fill fuel to jump ahead of eol as i knew i had a bit of leeway on strategy as i felt a could run a bit faster than his pace, but i just cant think and drive at the same time and ran wide into the sand at the final chicane and bumped the wall and no no no so much time lost, luckily i was pitstopping anyway at the end of that lap so i got back to the pits and got back out in 7th and after others pitted at the end of lap 15 i was back in 5th and really cross.
From there around 35 seconds now behind the lead i was hoping for 3rd place at the end of the race as i had good pace, and gradually thats what happend.
A great race - dissapointed that Karsten left the game after hos crash into the wall at the first chicane later in the race, i know he had heavy damage and getting all the way around the track to the pits with a smashed car is mega hard, but didnt expect him to leave.

I watched the replay and gueven did have some lag again on the pace lap, not sure why he seems to suffer with this so much, but the pace lap normally sorts it out.

A great drive by agro and eol, well done guys, i am sure when Sken gets back for the race next week he will enjoy having you very fast guys to fight with.

As for corner cutting penalties, i dont like them, but it makes it fair for all for sure, and i would be interested in what others think, we dont need them on at all tracks but there are a few where corner cutting even by accident can give a big advantage and thats not right, so i intend to see what all you guys think about having them on at tracks where they would work. let me know.

Yes snake, i did see that on the replay, well unlucky mate, was it the lag that caused the crash, as if it was you could have messaged SC and we would have run a second pace lap and you and gueven could have pitted and caught back up.
let me know ? we have to make sure lag does not mess up anyones race after they have spent hours in setup and practice.

i reviewed the replay , and i think it was the lag, there was no need to brake so heavy at that part. but i know for sure that it was not his fault. as Gueven is a clean driver. i was thinking to put "SC" but as i drove in to him, i thought it was more my fault. will keep more distance next time :dunce:

My apologies about that.

I just needed a good race to cheer me up after the disappointing streak of races i had since Round 2 of last season.

I touched the inside of wall by like half cm (i was actually sure i didn't at the time) that is stupidly all wall not like suzuka's one and the car was so much wrecked that with wheel was impossible to bring around. I did try for a bit but by first chicane i had already lost 40 seconds and was swering around dangerously. And that was like 1/4th of the lap i still had to do. So a perfect race was wasted. I would have been lapped twice before getting to boxes.

Probably not classy but i had no wish to bring the car along anymore.

It seems i do not have either pace or concentration to race for long time lately; i was doing great at Brands too before the lapping other car crash.

Maybe i would have crashed there too later on. At least i didn't crash into others >_>

Yes karsten, i have crashed into that wall a few times in training, and i must say im glad its a game, as i would be through the windscreen, still attached to the seat belt and seat in real life i should think, its a mega sudden stop.
And yes getting back to the pits is a long way and a task itself at slow speed.

I'd just like to say I'm not a fan of how this series is going. The qualifying in separate race rooms and 30 minutes earlier is really killing it for me. What is even the point? There is 23 drivers signed up, Dave isn't racing anymore so 22. There are about 7 names on the list who haven't made any effort to join a pre season race yet (I thought it was a requirement btw). And made noneffort to be involved on the thread. The whole point in signing more up was so we had full rooms, how will this work when only 20 turn up for the race, 2 rooms of 10? Totally defeats what you were looking for.

As for the race, penalties really? I didn't even know they were on until I made a mistake and got punished twice for it. And then on a couple of occasions I'm pretty sure I didn't even cut the corner and got a penalty. It doesn't work as you get punished for mistakes and if your racing or defending your line and run wide/take avoiding action you also get punished. We never had problems in the past with this so why add it now?

Also people know of others are trying to gain an advantage and can be dealt with after the race with a time penalty like it would of been in previous seasons.

Well that's me for now and I'll respond to any questions about my points but as I said earlier, really losing interest in the way this series is going.

Hi Flank, i am sorry to hear your disappointment mate.
We have put in many hours running through so many many things to try and get things to runs as smoothly and for us running it as easily as possible.

At the moment we have 22 drivers but we did intend to get 32 so on that we have planned up until now.

Also the races we have on Mondays are only unofficial practice races, the calender clearly shows that 26th next Monday drivers must attend. There have been drivers that have signed up knowing they are not free until that date, they have messaged me and psn me to let me know they are still in but have other commitments until the 26th, so until the turn out for next week, then we wont know the actual number.

Also if when the series starts we have the planned 32 drivers we would need to have 2 rooms for qualy,
and with so many drivers a time trial room alone is the best way to go, in 2 separate rooms.
It makes it easier for us running it as the times from the 2 rooms would have to be calibrated into 2 rooms again based on the times set. Whichever way we did it would be a pain and would need this type of set.
Believe me when you are running a series, making sure everything goes smooth and on time flank, you dont have the same experience as you do if you were just driving.
I will make sure we stick to qualy and start times as we have people from many countries, and it would be unfair on them if the race start ran late and they were somewhere where the clock is 2 or 3 hours ahead.

Also Flank, there is prize money up at stake here, and i dont want to have to sit through the replay of everyones race to see if they shortcut, there is a fair bit of time to be made at tracks like Monza and this way is easy, its fair and i cant honestly see a reason for you to complain, its the same for everyone, and at worse it keeps you off the gas for 3 seconds, no big deal in a 90 minute race, i got around 4 of them and they are annoying but its my fault.
I did post there would be penalties and warn drivers, you really needed to practice in practice races to find the extent of the corner cutting, however Flank, if there were a lot against it i would of course listen, but most agreed its fair and up til now you are the only one that has said otherwise ? if others feel the penalties are wrong, let me know guys, i run this series for you as well as me.

Also Flank as mentioned earlier, running the series does take away the concentration.
When i turned up for Karstens series for the last 2 seasons, i never thought about how he had to prepare, on the outside it seems easy, and agreed its not hard, but you have to make sure everything is set just right and everything goes off on time and trying to make the series seem at least in some sort of order. So while everyone is out practicing before the race, there are some making sure that things run smoothly for the others.

Then we have dishing out penalties after the race, all these things take time and effort, and i am sure once the series starts proper there will be all kinds of incidents when we have full rooms and real full on racing. i really think its the fairest way to let the gt6 penalty system to handle those little shortcuts, and the stewards will have to look at all the other incidents of which there will be many i think.

As s sponser, i wanted to have as many in the series as poss. it has made it a bit more messing around, and i have put many things in place so everyone knows what is happening and when and how.
If it turns out that next week, we only have 16 drivers, then i think it may be that we go with that for the series.
We did think that we would have huge amounts of entries when it was put up as £250.00 prizes, but thats not the case.

Having all the extra organisation and work for 32 drivers would be worthwhile, but if we only get 16 or 17 then we will look again and try to make things a little easier.

Anyway Flank mate, lets see what happens next week, when its official at last.

The shorcutting penalty at Monza was a test. A successful one for this track. I doubt it is needed in any other track, beside probably Sarthe and nurb?

As logic said the MANDATORY 2 test races start this Monday with Rome race. Failure to partecipate in any of the two races will mean to be placed aside.

if number will be so short we might just go 1 room like we already did.

I'm no fan of the penalty system in gt6 either, but it seems like a necessary evil on tracks like monza, silverstone, sarthe, and red bull ring maybe. But with practice to get familiar with those zones it can become almost a non-issue if you mind them right. I got two shortcut penalties this last race and it cut Maybe three seconds at best on my total race time. Not a big deal imo.

As for the qualifying format, I personally like it much more so than if we used in-game format. Also must remember time must be taken to "grid" people on near the first corner and reset room. Gives people time to make any final changes or take a bathroom break. I'll tell you an hour and a half driving is no fun when you drank coffee before quali and then didn't have a chance to whiz before race :scared: .

I would like to see a note in the driver briefings and possibly a photo of a 'starting box' so we all can guess with better accuracy when the leader is allowed to hit the gas at the start. I think that could at least help some with the field stringing out on the first lap, which perhaps is my only true complaint with this series.

Other than that small issue above, I believe you guys have done quite a job organizing this series. Keep up the good work .

I pretty much agree with @GT_Vette in the previous post, I think in yesterdays race I got penalized maybe 2-3 times at the most and it's a bit annoying but at least the rules are applied to everybody, the only downside is the car being transparent after that, in the first laps I was behind LOGICLINE and he got penalized in the first chicane and turned "invisible", I was scared though because at some point he would become "real" again and it could happen when I was right to his side, gladly nothing happened but people need to be carefull when those things happen.

Actually I'll take this chance to make a short brief about the race, I was glad that I participated in the race but I was worried in the Quali because I had no preparation for the race whatsoever, I barely talked when I joined the room because I had to take those 10 minutes to adjust my car for the track. After Quali and now in the Race room I made the last adjustments and it wasn't too bad as I placed 4th but still a bit behind of AGRO who was flying in the Qualifications and prior to the race I knew it would be hard to reach his pace.

The race started and me seve-uke and LOGICLINE we all had a good battle in the first laps, we didn't lose too much ground to AGRO but it was very nice and I felt bad for seven-uke after his mistake, after that point it was all about having good pace and pit strategies. I think I did good in both those things and for some reason I lost too much time in my first pit stop but I was able to recover some time to AGRO until the last 30minutes and it would come down to the last stint for both us. After we pitted for the last time, I was behind AGRO around 4~5seconds and if I wanted to fight for the win I had to push, AGRO was pushing hard and things was looking tough for me, but I had to try, and I did but I think I pushed too much and because of that I made 2 mistakes, first I was doing a flying lap and got penalized for 5seconds, I was thinking to myself, damn I can't do mistakes like this if I wanna get AGRO, next lap I made a even worse mistake, I hit the curb before the 2nd long straight and lost control of the car, damaged my front left suspension of my car and it was a piece of work to get my car to the end, I lost some time because of it but it was manageable and I had some time to control to 3rd place.

Overall it was a good race and AGRO deserved the win absolutely, LOGIC made a great race too and seven could have done better if he didn't lose his focus, overall all behaved well (at least from what I've seen) and I'm looking forward for the official races :)

Maybe i'm just turning into a bit more of a moaner as the birthdays go by lol, but when I first joined this series it was a 6.45 start which gave me plenty of time to get home from work and have food before the race. Now i barely get in on time to qualify and can't eat until after the race. I'll see how it goes I suppose in the real pre season races and how work is but it's no fun rushing around to race and when the fun stops there isn't any point to it.

And a quick one, I didn't save my replay because I turned it off but lap 23 or 24 at ascari Im pretty sure i got penalised for not cutting a corner, on the very edge maybe but a cut? noway.

I think this is a great series and the organisation is top drawer , can't really suggest too much as I am a rookie and still learning of you guys , thanks for feeling sorry pedro I just caught my wheels on the outside of the line and it snapped away , I was trying too hard to go faster and wasn't thinking about a good race pace , was trying to force more speed out of the old girl

I think i may have had the same twice, i thought ah no way, i am not sure how accurate the cutting penlty is but i would of thought it must be the exact same for all.

Pedro, re i had the same thing, i drove through 3 flashers during the race, quite a worry i agree.
Kossu had to pop out of his house i know, and his car was going round slowly flashing, and i still tried to avoid it and nearly crashed, even though it was flashing.
Also Karsten and soemone else i drove thru while they flashed thinking the same thing, i imagine the game wont let them become real if a car is about to go thru it ? i would like to think thatsthe case anyway.

Also, to me like the heavy damage, it gives the game something more.
Ie ive been in races where you get 30 seconds behind the leader and you know you cant win the race as you have no way of catching a guy who is as fast or slightly faster than you, as without damage or cutting penalties even if they crash they are straight back on the track and fast again, but knowing that with a bit of pressure he may crash and get damage or get a corner cut penalty here and there does give more hope and chance of catching him.

Here's my race review
Had a decent start overtaking logic when he got his penalty , and then battled with eol until he overtook bravely through the chicanes on the 7 th lap , slight contact made which nudged me out of line and did notice on replay that eol was two wheels across the corner and didn't seem to get a time penalty , none the less it was a great move , logic took advantage of eol and me having a battle to catch up and went past me as well as eol , trying to hard to reclaim the places I lost it on the last corner before the straight and got proper bogged into the gravel , grrrrrr that gravel is frustrating , this dropped me to 8th where i had a good battle with flank until again I made an error or was cleverly forced to by flank ;) ,this made me have a head on into the wall got damage limped back to pits , returned in 12 th place , from there it was my foot down and make sure I completed the race , was happy to finish 5th and qualify 3rd overall considering how poor I was at brands
Great fun indeed :)

Race time 45minutess later it's fine and okay for me.
Qual start 6.45 and race start 7.30 uk time.

For me it's no problem to move the start to a more optimal time for everyone if necessary.
The rules are the same for all and we will adjust our driving style.
I think it is very luxurious to join an organized space and to enjoy the race in this series.
There are a few new fast driver which we should try to follow ... lol I really like

It's true we did touch few times but I guess I didn't get a penalty because there was nothing I could have done in that situation, the chicane is very tight, I was just a piece in front of you after your little mistake and I was in the outside line, I tried to go outside as possible but I felt your little touch and I decided to not force my wheel so we would avoid a crash, after LOGIC overtook us and I noticed you were right behind, I decided to continue as everyone was "fine". That's why I felt sorry for you afterwards, I like those moments and everyone was clean respecting others, that's how I like to race :)

👍 That's realism and makes everything more fun imo, also don't see any other reason to not have any damage. We get better that way and we need to be more consistent!

TazRacing - scheduled time or 15min later is fine.

Scheduled time is fine.
Starting later not working for me.

15 minutes ok, if we start race on time.

Have to finish until 21.00 - 21.15 GMT.

Ok, thats cool thank you, yes we will always start on time whatever happens, and now we have the pace car start procedure if if we have issues we can just keep rolling and the time will be running down.
