Incident between me and karl lap 5 turn 7. Moved from being off racing to be on it under braking.
 
Shocking race for me. Stupid me turned my phone off for a reboot before bed but fell asleep before I remembered to turn it back on, hence I missed all my alarms and woke up dead on when Quali was due to start, so missed it.
Starting the from the back is not fun, but I hadn't warmed up so it was nice to not have pressure behind me.
@Gavin Vickers you weave a lot into braking areas man... Held me up a lot when I could've passed you numerous times.
Of course the rain came and already with a setup which I did not like, made it much worse, after 60% water I had no hope. Was too annoyed from my rush before the race and being held up the whole dry period. I spun numerous times on Full Wets and called it quits already being last still.
Shocker.

I'll have exact lap counts for a couple incidents later on after I finish work and view the replay.

Congratulations to @xChris93_ a nice come back from RBR, @GT_Vette near by as always and @RodeRuner1967 well done to secure third after being away for a little bit :D.

@azidahaka im sorry I was shocking this round mate, you were the bulk of the team this week, saw you had a few moments, sorry to see but a nice hold on for the end in such shocking conditions.

Thank you for the kind words. I enjoyed every bit of the race untill the rain started and then had a blast keeping it on the pavement lol.
I really love the way they made ballast the key to close racing. I had some really good battles with a few of you today. Nurburgring GP/F is one of my favorite tracks.
I held third for quite a few laps towards the end and had a decent gap on my slowly closing team mate SkengD untill I went into the pits for my last stop. That's when SkengD took third from me. I figured I would just hang out in fourth and finish that way. Then my team mate had to pit at the last few laps and gave me third back. It was well needed points for the team.
I want to practice this week sometime with you my team mate. :)
 
My race.
No incident.
I do not know what to say.. My race started well and i got few places up and for a long time I was behind a login. The first 40 minutes of no spin and no crash.For the last 40 minutes and 60% water. I tried different techniques and change the wet tires below and get the keep the car on the track to the finish line.And the heavy wet tires were of no help. So, my time has diminished my lap all the time and the place down. 70-80% of the wet track is no longer fun, but I focused on keeping the car on the track. Im only who drive wet tires :) but it did not work and a jad tactic. It was nice to race guys and gr. Next week new track and new week :) maybe better maybe not. :)

Well done Chris, great drive, Agro poor you having to stop for a few litres, and TnT great great drive mate, well done.
Fili, at last you are up there with the big boys, great drive mate.

Well for me i had a great time up until 80% wet track.
At the start i had a great handling car and really felt comfortable, moved up from 7th at the start and ran in 5th and 4th for a long period. When the rain came my car was still nice going from Slicks to inters, and then from inters to wets at around 60% and thinking i may get a podium here, as i was not far behind Tnt and we were deep into the race.

Then when the track went above 80% my car just was so hard to handle, and even going really slow i was struggling.
Its embarrassing almost when you see the leaders come around to lap you and they go sailing smoothly past.

Great race i enjoyed until the last 20 minutes, the time seemed to go past very quickly, until the last 20 minutes.

Just a shame that we cant do something better re when the rain just starts and never stops.

Snake, you are a good host, seemed a good fast connection.

First congratulations to the podium, but really too bad for Agro…:boggled:

For me no incidents, as I was way behind, so I could not do a lot of damage to the others.:crazy: I was already not looking out to this particular track, as I had just two small training sessions last week. I knew what to expect, especially with the rain coming. So I tuned my car with a max of stability, but of course, way slower than the rest of the pack, just hoping that I would go slower but not crash or spin. And maybe catch up some positions. I enjoyed the race up to 70% wet, once behind that it is really not fun. Just trying to survive. I was almost able to gain a position on Logic in the last two laps, but the conditions were way too dangerous to take the risk to damage both of us.

I was glad that the connection of the room was pretty stable and nobody had a dc.

If you want, I can host again , but that is of course up to Karsten or Logic to decide.

My specs are 160Mbps in download and 10Mbps in upload. And router gives priority to gaming versus download or surfing.

I’m looking out to next race, as the upcoming tracks are some of my favorites.:gtpflag:
 
Great race yesterday everyone, plenty of ups and downs for me which made it a pretty exciting one to drive. Tbh my expectations for the race wasn't very high, I made changes to my setup after excessive tyre wear at RBR but I never had the chance to dial in myself or the car to the track beforehand. My only practice was half an hour before qualifying :lol: and had no rain experience at the track, so was unsure where the grip was.

Qualifying was ok for me, the car struggled a little bit on full fuel and was sliding a little bit too much so I wasn't expecting to qualify on pole. Agro posted a great lap at the fuel load so he deserved the pole, I was glad to make it to the front row so that I could apply some pressure; wheel to wheel racing is where I am most confident.

I had a pretty good exit and start which allowed me to get right up behind Agro hoping to take a wider line on entry to T1 for a better exit. But Agro seemed to miss his braking point and I managed to take P1. From there I managed my pace to look after my tyres, pretty frustrating but I knew that it wouldn't be long until rain started so I tried to lengthen my stints.

A definite highlight for me was fighting with Agro during the first 15 laps or so, especially lap 7 where we were side by side throughout the majority of sector 2. Hope that makes it into the video @azidahaka lol! I managed to hold on to the lead but my setup just wasn't good enough to give me pace over the long stints and look after my tyres well enough. Once it started to rain it was a survival challenge and tbh I wasn't driving very well. I was struggling with stability during braking and throttle application, due to my brake bias and LSD being too high; ok for the dry, bad for the wet lol. As a result I spun a few times at the Schumacher S's where I wasn't careful enough with the throttle; the margins were so tight between grip and slipping lol. I reckon those are the most difficult wet conditions I've driven in yet on GT6.

Once it started to rain though I made sure that I would maximise my fuel intake so that I wouldn't have to pit again once the full wet tyres were on so I was happy with my strategy, and from quick calculation I guessed that Agro would have to pit. I was happy holding 25s behind him after my mistakes, but soon after lapping Karsten I spun at the S again and lost 20s or so. I was gutted because I knew that I thrown away my chance for the win and Agro confirmed this by pitting but fortunately for me Agro also messed up with his fuel intake and gave me another chance. I jumped him on the last lap but I was very low on fuel so I had to short shift all the way home on the final lap but maintain a good enough pace to stay ahead because he was 3-4 s behind me. When I crossed the line, my tank was empty so I'm glad we don't have to give fuel samples on GT6 :lol:

From a spectator's point of view the race would've been an amazing watch lol, pretty stressful to drive in. Looking forward to the next one now! :cheers: It's alway good fun :D

I'm pretty sure the room was bugged or something was strange, i was 2 seconds off my mark and the car felt all laps like it was on ice. No clue what happened, afterwards i went to check chassys, setup, tires, i even refreshed cache...
Ended in 10th position. Pretty disappointing for on my n°1 chassys i managed quite a long streak of low 54s and 53.9s. In any case it seems i was the only one affected so i was VERY concerned about race!

Race
I started in 10th and the rolling lap i used to check what was about the car after the Q session;

it was flawless as usual so i rejoice but i was very puzzled. (i did second lap faster than my Qualy one IIRC lol)

At the very beginning i was wary and tried to avoid problems, then i managed to pass @filipino1234 after he made a mistake. I was happy to see tnt and logic in front of me were slower on dry and i was catching up very easily. Looked good! :)

At 4th lap i have no real clue what happened turn 1, maybe some lag issue but i had 2 cars in front of me suddenly stop to almost an halt (maybe @RodeRuner1967 and @Stephen Vann crashing togheter?) i brake really hard and manage not to strike them but bump lightly i think tnt. Result was both front wheels damaged. Yay >_>

not much to do beside a whole lap to get to pits for a flying change of tires and no refueling.

I did it and had a very nice streak of laps where i tried my very best to keep tires ok planning to use up all my 75liters of fuel while it started raining to switch to inters.

The strategy was flawless and i managed to recover half a minute in the process; then i switched to intermediate tires on i think lap 15 with 10 or 11% water on track and REFUELLED 100 liters. Another perfect strategy move for i managed to finish on it and after 2 slower laps while the track was getting wetter i managed to get lots of positions and even had a great battle as usual with @Pedroeol :D i guess he hated me at the time, by my one less pit strategy meant we were actually fighting together for the position and i was in a better one after the pit.

This was the theory at the moment if rain would get stable, but instead it went on to full flood as usual :P

Then i had to stop for heavy rain, i might did so a lap sooner to be honest. I was still i think in 6th position but i had to let fili through and had @kossu and @Gavin Vickers closing on to me, them making a mistake and so on.

Later on the race i had 2 bad luck moments that basically meant i lost my 7th place to Vic... First was @xChris93_ lapping me; i lost over 4 seconds in it... I had no problems with @GT_Vette lapping me, i lost 1 second but for some reason it didn't work with chris :P

What was worst is that after i left his through he spun out... So a couple of laps later i had same issues and lost other 3 seconds >_>

In the last lap vic was just behind me we were side by side, i was on the right of the track gavin on the left and in front of us was a uber slow Logic. Not enough room for 3 cars. Had to make a choice.

-Accelerate and have vic rear end logic or turn into me resulting in another "race accident" fuji style (never forget)
-Let him through and lose a position

Thinking about it i was a chicken and i chose to let him through.

In the end i finished 8th, that with a lap 4 crash and heavy rain is not so bad. I was disappointed in seeing @Pubs16 having so much issues and stopping, but it was really too much at race end.

So 6 races are past and i can look back in shame, no question about it.

Next week will be half season and i've racketed a

15-6-9-11-9-8 positions.

I never ever considered doing so badly to be honest expecially with all the effort i put in this season (never did so much training and tuning ever before, i'll be honest).

Congratulations to agro, chris and tnt for a nice show off.

Seems weight and rain can't stop these guys :D

PS: On a side note i was thinking of introducing a "red flag system" for excessive rain. I do not like all the people parking or just surrendering, and above 60-70% it's not actually much fun or racing. I hate to bring on any kind of changes in a running serie, but i would like to hear from you guys what would you think about that. I have some ideas i would share.

Not sure how you lost so much time mate, I lost a lot of time trying to overtake you as it took you a while to let me by. Didn't look like you were slowing down an awfully lot for me to lose 4s, but blue flags are part of racing. Sorry that you had to let me by again after my mistake though, just unlucky :/ I wasn't happy with it either! :lol: But I was pushing as hard as I could after losing a couple of seconds behind you. It's very hard to follow you through S2 in the spray :(

Not sure about the red flag situation though I'm not bothered either way tbh, but I'm not sure how that would work. Would probably over complicate things. Rain driving is fundamental to real life racing/championships and pretty likely at this time of the year at most places :/ Helps to add to the realism imo. I think that it makes it pretty exciting tbh and mixes up the field ideally. Allowing heavier cars to over perform, as tyre wear and general acceleration is hampered by ballast; rain driving is really all about gentle throttle/brake/steering application...Imagine holding a baby at 100mph :lol:

For example, I doubt without rain we would have had a single lapped driver over 90 minutes of racing.

Why do you think that the races are cancelled though? Main reasons are for the safety of spectators/drivers/marshals as it's not worth risking their lives for racing. But we don't have that problem as we're comfortably sitting behind our tv's. Another reason is that the track floods and is impossible to drive due to aqua plaining. But again we don't have that problem as the game isn't as detailed as that and would be pointless to model that into the game. Agro demonstrated yesterday that's it's possible to drive perfectly in the wet without any incidents or spins. I agree that it's much more difficult in the wet, but are you going to penalise those who know how to drive in the wet by removing high surface water driving from the series? Surely it just comes down to practice, driving ability and setup.

I think that a possible road to look down is to increase the chance of variable conditions, as when it starts to rain it seems to stay on. Is there a way to increase changeability to allow the track to dry up again? or not have the chance to reach 100%?

Yea but I agree with Chris my results prove it cause
I drive better than most at night and in the rain lol
 
I think what chris said about the variability is spot on. The room setting are set to 1, which means 1 initial change in weather for the duration. Next time set it to 2 or 3. It may stop raining and not get as wet. Worth a try imo.

Tried that in season 1 and 2. Not working.

If you start sunny game always moves to rain if you start rainy always goes to dry.
 
I've raced on here dry start then it started two rain when two 30% on track I change tyres cam out 3 laps out stopes raining track dyed hat two change tyres back only can how change tyres lol cost me big.

Pretty much implies removing driving in high surface water.....? I just gave an opinion, which you asked for.
 
By excessive rain i mean over 80% or 90% when basically all beside 3-4 drivers hang up the keys or park in boxes.

What happens when there's too much rain on track? do they wait for track to dry 100% or sun to shine?

Obviously the restart would still be very wet (i.e. 60% water on track) but with less heavy clouding for example 40 or 50% clouds.
