Hey guys i can race tonight if theres room. Duno how competetive il be if your getting 1.27's, i remember i did 30laps or so around the time the german GP was on and i got 1.30/1.29 something like that

Ill put you down as a reserve with a freelance team and there is space for you now.
I forgot ccobx couldnt race. Disregard my PM.
See you between 6 and 630pm for free practice. Qualifying starts at 645pm.

Thats 16 confirmed now so maybe 14 will actually make the race.
Everyone keep fingers crossed that the connection holds without too much lag and we dont lose drivers through disconnectons.
Dont forget to re set routers at least an hour before the race and clear your cache too!
Everyone add sandman to your friendslist as the emergency host if I lose my internet for any reason, he will then take charge of the race.

FGTC announcement
This is looking like the busiest race of the season so far and due to the nature of the track and closeness of the laptimes so I am going to make the following warning to all drivers.
1. Any driver charging through slower drivers, displaying careless driving or showing bad sportsmanship will be heavily penalised/banned. You have to go ROUND other drivers and the lead car chooses (and holds) their lines, you will respect that.
2. In qualifying a steward will be watching every pass you make of the chicane and if you dont have at least 2 wheels on the track you will have 5 seconds added to your lap time.
3. If I suspect anyone leaves the race for any reason other than a disconnect they will receive 10 points deduction or be removed from the championship depending on current status*. (Regular, rookie, new). It is obvious when people leave because they spun out or had a contact.
4. Remember to PM me with any complaints after the race so I can look for them on the replay.
5. Make sure you can hear me during qualifying and do not type or speak while people are doing their hot laps. Qualifying may take extra time today, be patient.

I am sure you understand its important to make these things clear to ensure everyones equal enjoyment of the race.

Can i request that my qualifying lap is last as im having tea at half 6. If i miss Q then will the race start at 7 so then i can just about make it in time? :)

Smithaz- On the first GT screen choose options, go down to network, select clear cache.
Use the search function if you want more info, I am not sure how to explain its purpose but its generally accepted that it can help connections.

Ellis- You need to be in the room for 645 at the latest to qualify, ill be able to get you in after but if you miss it completely you will start in last place. Race starts at 715pm and I will of course do my best for you.

Il try my best. My families really traditional and has to eat together. Makes sense but not today :L

Pagey279 was wondering if he is in the race today. He has been practicing all week and is looking forward to it and he was just making sure he is in the race? :)

That depends, I have 16 confimations for the race. Tell pagey I will invite him if everyone is not there for qualifying (excluding you of course as you might be late).
Not sure why pagey doesnt contact me in plenty of time though???

Dont be dissapointed mate, you can try again next time :)

Results posted and championship points posted!!!!

Well done lads, great race and let me have your race reports. Mine will be posted later :)

Quality race everyone! I am pleased that I nipped past runfast1 on the second to last lap. All that consistant hard work and no spinouts did come into help after all. Shame my pit strategy wasn't the best. If I had put less fuel in on the last pit stop I could of gained the 12 seconds between me and sandman as I had the upper hand with my tyres being fresher. Can't wait for Suzuka, just had a few laps round it and it's a very interesting course. Not sure about the weather though, hopefully it won't rain.

Well done everyone!

Lol nipped? Try cleaner next time

I am sensing some possible skulduggery :(

I will investigate the replay, report coming soon promise :) Until then lets hear off the rest of you!

Too much lagg On replay! Oh well! Ps3 network is unstable with all the different connections between usa & abroad! IMO.

Runfast, the race was clean of lag for me. I thought the network did rather well but replays for the yanks, canucks and aussies are pretty rough unfortunatley.

Race report
I had a great start from 4th, pole position on this track is a poor place to start, you get drafted into the first corner by at least 3 cars. I emerged from the first corner in 2nd and was getting on but struggling to get past pagey who wasnt up to pace in the first lap for some reason. On the last corner we came together and he spun (under independant investigation).
Now in first sandman and myself managed to pull away from the pack and he stayed on my tail for the next 10 laps. Somewhere in the middle of the race, pagey was back and absolutley flying. I held my lines and we swapped places for 5 or so laps unable to get away from each other due to the slipstream effect. After a minor contact I corrected too much and dumped my car into the sand, luckily it was a straight off and I managed to come out only 5 seconds behind. Seeing that sandman and ronin were quite far back I concentrated on catching pagey, his lead was between 5 and 10 seconds for much of the remainder. I knew his tyres were 2 laps older so I kept on rolling and started to catch him quickly in the final lap. His lead went from 7 seconds to 1.9 by the time he crossed the line. Great race and very close. I ran on racing medium and pitted twice :)
Lets have your reports! :)
Suzuka should be a blast with similar lap times to GPF, I set a 1.27 in a quick run around before bed.
Stewards are currently investigating 5 drivers, results will be posted thursday night at the latest.
Peace.

On the 48th lap me and runfast1 were coming up to the chicane and he braked first, then I did forcing me to tap him from behind. It was nothing massive, he only turned 90 degrees and hit the wall at a slow pace, I apoligise. I let him get back infront of me as a nice racer would, but I could tell my tyres were better off than his, so I was passing him, and he then was passing me, we were at each other for about half a lap. He span on the hairpin, I was about 5-10 ft behind him and there was no contact made. I apoligise for the nudge on the straight, sometimes it's harder to brake than others depending on brake balance and extra speed picked up by drafting.

Hi Guys,
I am so sorry for messing up the start (lack of brain cells) :dopey: not like the youngsters....It was very confusing to find myself on pole position once the race had started I realized the mistake I had made. So at the first corner I stayed to the left and let everyone pass me. After that tried to settle down and get in some consistant laps around the 1.30 mark. caught up with flood and it took me a couple of laps to get past him..but I did it clean, then went after besty boy. he was harder to pass but I still managed it. After that more consistant laps and then I noticed I'd passed elisnutt ( he must have been in the pits) then when I pitted he passed me but in the end I got the place back even though I never passed him on the track. A good result for me as if you look at my previous races I am always 3-4 seconds a lap slower. ( I put it down to my age ) good excuse . I shall be doing another 24hr A spec race so shan't be around till wednesday see you all then. Electric & Trish.:gtpflag:

Etid- Thanks for your explaination, I will take both accounts into consideration while viewing the replay. In the meantime, what about the other 43 laps? Did you enjoy the race, any battles with anyone else?

Electric- Dont worry, we all make mistakes, I was surprised to see you in pole but you did the right thing in allowing other drivers to pass and had a good finish considering the stress of the mistake. Your definatley getting faster so good job for that. Good luck for the 24hour race, you must be on the last one now. Ill be interested to see what lap times you and everyone else put in during the race, I had at least 6 consecutive laps on 1.27's while fighting pagey but couldnt look away from the track enough to see :)

Everyone- I have made an adjustment to the last race of the season, I thought the 24hr track would help create some gaps before we hit the green hell. Let me have any objections.

I got the penalty for cutting the chicane not you! That was on lap 44 of 45. I was trying hard to finish 5th m8. No prob I'm over it!
Peace

Im sure theres umpteen incidents in that race. I had a lot of trouble on the first lap but im not going to make anything of it because i cant be bothered. to me that race was a lost cause and making mountains out of molehills will only disguise the fact i had an awful race. But after a lot of thinking last night im going to keep my head up and carry on. Last night was a bad evening and i have to take the problems from it and take it into suzuka to see where i can improve :)

You put too much pressure on yourself, Everyone has a bad race, you had the pace and the pit strategy to back it up, but giving up is stupid nonetheless and can affect peoples race, if you have a ****e start, just try to get some places back, dont sit out.

runfast1 - Ok mate. :)

Sandman - your right, you should never give up when you race!

Ellis - don't worry mate, you'll do amazing at Suzuka trust me. :)

Congratulations to Pagey and Berty, glad to see you guys were having a nice battle. I had a disappointing race, the start was weird, thought I was on pole but there was electric. I'm considering not qualifying anymore, seems to be a disadvantage, plus everyone wants to drive straight through me. I crashed several times trying to avoid people, wish I received the same respect, lesson learned. I did enjoy the little fight with sandman, where did you go after I passed you though? But most of the race was just catchup for me, though I love that. I remember thinking on about lap 40 that maybe they will both magically pit for tires, but alas it twas not to be.

I have to say that this track is absolutely amazing, and I want to race it again

I agree about qualifying. I'd rather start at the rear and go past them when they run off track or crash & if your fast you'll catch leaders.

when is the next practice session? haven't practiced yet for this track
