Yes your vote is registered.
1.27 is unsustainable unless you want to pit every 7 laps. I think I will be 1.29-1.30 for the entire race, I am going to take a big risk on the pit strategy due to the fact that the season is coming to an end and I have a healthy lead. I will be practicing tomorrow night to get my pit strat sorted and try some different tyre combinations.
Sakery! Dont ruin your season 2 by turning off SRF, you will be off at every contact and 5 seconds a lap slower! Just forget SRF, turn it on for the FGT and forget........fooorrrrggeeettttt.......... :)

Sakery listen to berty my man, there is no big pleasure in racing an FGT without SRF. Every contact will send you spinning, and you have to pay attention all the time, believe me I used to race this thing with all aids off.
My quickest time around sazuka with all aids off is 1.28.5 , I'm not bragging it's just that we can all drive these things like that. Your satisfaction should come from racing with all of us, not micromanaging this psychotic race car.
If you've ever been in a racing machine then you should know that about 80% of your driving is dictated by the seat of the pants feel of the car. You will never get that in gt5, so let's just have fun and race each other equally buddy.

👍 to that Ronin!

I am just about to try the seasonal, its a shame you can use race cars, it should be road cars only but off to go. Practicing tomorrow if anyone wants to join in about 8pm GMT.
Meanwhile if you havent voted for next season, read a few posts back and let me have your opinions!
There is a seat at force india, can someone see if pagey can make the remainder of the races otherwise it may get snapped up!
Time trial, golded first lap 5 seconds to spare, too easy!

storks of course. Or is it trish's strange messages on facebook what lead to it ;) il never known im an innocent boy ;)

Hehe. Lets concentrate on the racing.
My predictions for the next 3 races are.
5th Suzuka is tough for some reason.
2nd I think I can do ok at monza.
7th Too many people know every inch of the 'green hell' and I dont, simples.

im worried about this race iv done about 20 mins practice on this track thus as far. Just havnt got the time

Well I did 20 minutes on sunday then an hour last night so I am not practicing as hard as I did for Nurburg GPF.
Just been thinking about 'the green hell'.
You, ronin and neth know that track really well, you could get your first podium there or maybe even a win!

What are peoples ideas for tyre strategy? I dont think softs will be useable, its so tough on tyres this track. Its gonna be very tough race, its a really tough track with no room for error. Im gonna get as much practice in as possible!!

Server undergoing maintenance! W t ? I need to practice real track conditions!!! Hope it's done soon. I need a beer!
Peace out y'all :)))))

Smithaz- I am keeping that to myself as most people will :) it is really hard on tyres if you want to go fast. Maybe keep a steadier pace and pit less, medium or harder tyres might be worth a try. I havent had a trial run yet so not 100% sure on fuel and tyres yet.

RunFast- Ye man, I dont mind as its my night off GT5. I played the new rugby game demo today, its not bad but a little easy. I beat England 31-0 on my first go! Lets hope that was on 'easy' or it wont be worth getting. Gonna trade some games for it on monday.

I may do a full race sim in the morning when i get in to get some kind of strategy in place. At work on nights at the moment. Nurburg GPF strategy was easy, just do 15 laps on softs then i pitted and automatic fuel refill. I need to work on racing against other people, every time i get behind someone i would make a mistake and drop 5secs

You do lose time when you get behind someone. It means you are racing fairly, if you wait and draft them down the next straight or out brake them into a corner you may only lose 1-2 seconds at most. Just get your nose in front (fairly) and all the lead car rights transfer to you.

I agree but for the LOVE OF GOD!!!!! dont do what i do........... it gets a bit, well accidents happen basically :D

You cant be that bad ellis, you didnt get a penalty did you. That is NOT a challenge :)

Well my xD wasn´t so clear :D

I do want to race without SRF because I know our times would be still quite fast, but I´m not an idiot. If everybody uses it i´ll do it too :D
My pretesting is still without SRF because the Setup errors are easier to localize than with SRF on.

Enough of that :D
@smithaz: GT5 has a fatal Tire-wear failure. Racing Softs last the longest. I tested it and I think here is a thread where people realised this too
=> you have to get comfortable times where you don´t stress the tires so much instead of using a harder compound

This was the reason why I asked rhyf last race why he used medium tires :D

I´m sure Softs can wear down fast but then you drive totaly insane Lap-Times (Suzuka 1:26-1:27´s back-to-back) ;)
But they aren´t achievable with medium/hard tires.
I hope I can get my concentration up the whole race because if you land in the sand you loose sooo much time it´s ridiculous (espacially Degner 1-2)

Hey Sakery, I have posted in the Q and A because I do notice wear difference, not much but to 50% on Nurburg GPF I tested 8 laps for R/soft, 11 laps for R/Medium and 15 laps for R/Hard. Maybe they patched it, maybe I was driving carefully or good setup.
Looking forward to racing you, its been a long time :)

1C for me as well
penalties (ghost cars) are annoying.
As mentioned, means stricter stewarding, but i think its doable which is why im voting 1C.
Will SRF be dropped too? or will that come in later seasons?

Hey Neth, SRF is in for next season, it was discussed at lenth and I am insisting on it.
Thanks for your vote, its registered.
Whats your opinion on tyre wear online? Is it as Sakery says? that they all wear the same?
I didnt think so but maybe because I was going half a second slower a lap that this is the reason I got 4 laps more on mediums at the last race.

from my experience / what i've read of others experiences:
there is no difference in the wear of the different compounds. they all last about the same.
its one of the major flaws in the game unfortunately.
there is no real advantage to using anything but softs

hoping that this will be fixed in the next major update
if you dig around in the forums, there is a chap that performed some fairly scientific tests on the different compounds in GT5, and gave some interesting results.

Good link Neth, interesting read. I ran on mediums the entire race at Nburg and only lost by 1.9 seconds, dont I feel like a chump :(.
Very dissapointed that the wear is even as this takes a lot out of the strategy, just as I was enjoying taming the mediums and looking to try racing hards on Suzuka.
Practice tonight at 8, mixed racing at 9 if anyone is about :)

That tire thread pretty much confirms what I've found while testing the different compounds. I think it's all in how you drive the cars. I noticed while racing you guys that you enter the corners way to quickly, then sort the exit out depending on where the car drifts. The way I drive is to enter the corner a bit more controlled so I can pick the perfect exit, when I get on the throttle my car is pointing straight at the exit, I usually never lift once I hit the gas. This exit should be clean with no sliding. Keep sliding to a minimum and your tires will last, remember slow in fast out. Hope this may help someone:)

On a side note my wheel is starting too give me trouble (brother used it), so I just ordered a fanatec
GT3 RS V2, what do you guys think?

Ronin, you are right, most of us do this. I know the theory but sometimes in the heat of battle I forget :). I checked out a review for your new wheel and it looks A1 mate, what made you avoid the G27?

Neth 👍 to that just watch you get rear ended in the first corner by some crazy fool!

Hey guy's, been very busy with school work and playing some different games like FIFA and GTA4 for a change. Hopefully be on for practice tonight depending on whether I go out or not. Only had about 30 mins practice on this track and I am struggeling a lot! Getting 1:30's to 1:32's. Still haven't looked for a setup as I am not mucking about with the suspension, LSD and downforce as I am not comfortable as what they do and when you should change them for different tracks. Voting wise I will vote for 1C. Will defo be there for the race on Sunday, predicting a position around 9th.

ETID

The main reason I chose the gt3 rs is for the clubsport pedals, some really good reviews on those. And I like how you can adjust the wheel settings right from the wheel itself, plus that orange color is just plain cool:)

Etid- Vote registered mate, shame pigboy isnt around to help with your tune. I would say you can afford to stiffen the suspension a little as this track has a smoother surface than NB GPF, the LSD is tougher here and not really sure what effect to go for here so I found a middle ground. I have had virtually no practice compared to NB GPF either so join us tonight if you can.

Ronin- The fanatec wheel looks amazing, my missus would castrate me with a rusty spoon if I spent that much money on a wheel, I guess your dad is a wall street excecutive or something :)
