The patch has definitely helped out the menu lag A LOT. But, the game seems to have even more BS than before.

I just played a Career Mode game where I was leading 2-0. Then Ajax get a free kick that was P-Rolled past Cech and he should have been able to save easily. Then two of my defenders scored Own Goals marking a player from a cross...

The refs are awful this year too, somehow they are worse than they have ever been before, even offsides are wrong. I was given offside when I put the rebound in off the post with the same player who had the shot in the first place. My goalkeeper also came out all by himself once and took out the striker outside the area, the result was a penalty, not sure how.

I had a goalkeeper do that once and the result was a penalty as well. The computer on world class, or higher, is impossible to tackle it seems.

Just made a guy rage quit :lol:. For one goal, I Berba spinned his keeper and strolled into the open net.

Something tells me 3 headed goals in the stoppage time of a first half symbolizes some predetermined intent by the servers. Especially when it was 1 minute of added time.

Anyone else playing career mode? My team is pretty good right now, and it'll get stronger in the summer when Oscar joins on a free.

Career Mode is practically all that I play. Online play just pisses me off. Unless it is clubs. And I usually only play clubs for the laughs with friends.
 
Career can be a bit annoying as well. I'm dominating almost everything, but only scraping out 1-0's against low caliber sides gets to me sometimes...
 
So I found out yesterday that all the classic kits and balls out of the catalogue can be used in UT after you buy them, nice touch. I guess some of you will already know this but maybe some of you don't. ;)

Yeah, that is often a bit annoying but, I just feel like i can play the game properly offline. Online, nearly everyone just abuses the overpowered stuff in the game. And because my play is very static and robotic, defending after the first half becomes easy for the opponent.

I've only played a few games online but already I can see all the problems with it. Sometimes defenders just don't jump for a ball, not going to defend a cross or corner like that. Players don't bother to track back in some games and just stand there stretching, that causes scores like 4-4 like I had in my last game. Also in that game my Vidic scored a lovely left footed volley but that is not what should have happened at all and you can bet had I been the one winning 4-3 at the time it would not have happened.
 
Yeah. I played 3 games yesterday and lost the two that I dominated and won the other one 1-0 on a goal I didn't deserve.

I know when the game gives me stuff, and I'd rather it not be that for anyone.

The most infuriating thing about the game thus far: After some extremely blatant fouls, the guilty party will put his hands in the air, like he didn't do it. What is absolutely beyond me is that the referees don't always call this a foul. Someone from EA actually took the time out of their day to sit on their rear end and write code for, in essence, a notification system as to when the referee is wrong and EA just doesn't care.

Absolute worst day of FIFA I've had in my life. Every little whore just L1 + triangles me for the entire damn game and EA switches to the wrong players and freezes them. Every time. Without fail.

So freaking obvious and annoying. The obvious part is what upsets me. It's completely and 100% evident they have planned what needs to happen during each move and before halves and games end.
 
Yesterday I played a bronze match and my players did nothing and my opponents players were stopping everything, somehow I managed to come from behind to win 3-1 and after the game I got the trophy for winning on Legendary when trailing at half time. Kind of explains why it's so hard to play at the moment when the opponents AI is on legendary and mine clearly isn't anywhere close and they say scripting does not exist.

There is no going offline to relax this year either, as the AI cheats and exploits the game more than people online do, unless you play professional and below and then they'll never get a shot never mind score.
 
Glad I'm not the only one having issues. Some days I feel most of my goals were fair and most of his goals were fair, but then there's days like yesterday where I anticipate what he's gonna do and the game stops me from moving to defend it. And then even my goals don't feel rewarding.
 
Seriously???

Worldclass difficulty in Fifa 14 is just ridiculous... They scored 3 bull goals (one on a penalty that was never even close to a penalty), and I managed to score 1 goal back. Against Tigres.

And they got freekick everytime I was even close to the player with the ball... But when they ram me down, I get nothing... :grumpy:

But since it's this hard on worldclass, i'm ok with a 3-1 loss.

Yeah I figure. I'm keeping myself to Professional difficulty. At least there I have a decent chance to win and maybe score a few goals.

Need to save up to a good striker too. Those I have now is just rubbish.

I would recommend Stephan El Shaarawy, I've heard from a couple of friends he's pretty good on this game.
 
I hate Diego Costa more than mere words can describe.
 
He doesn't have fast card stats but he just magically outpaces everyone (its not a strength issue) and gets unrealistic longshots. While trying to build my game around avoiding the FIFA 14 bullcrap, he's a throwback to the good ol' fashioned FIFA 13 rage.

There was a new one today. I was tied 1-1 and needed a draw to stay up. I'm running toward the opposing goal (going left to right), and the ball gets poked out toward my goal. Another of my players, following the same right to left path towards the opposing goal, comes sprinting at the ball. I direct a short pass ahead toward the goal, analog stick firmly mashed to the east.

What happened next almost cost me a $50 controller. I originally hit X facing east, and my player turns around and launches a lob pass towards my own goal that his striker latches onto and puts away.

Yay me.
 
I recently upgraded from '12 to '14 and I have to say I'm really disappointed. The AI is rubbish. The sudden goals from nowhere! I've had to lower the difficulty to Semi-pro just to stand a chance.

Leading 3-1 at half time then being down 3-5 by the 50' min mark is pathetic. I'll give it a month to improve but if no AI patches are coming then I'll reinstall FIFA 12.
 
The fact that players never get the chance to recharge their energy levels on ultimate team annoys me. Between games you would understand, but when starting a brand new season, why don't their energy levels max out again?!?

So then after a few seasons your players start getting tired and injury prone. Meaning you've got to buy backups for all the main players.

What happens if you have duplicates? Can you rotate that card in when the other gets tired?
 
...Just use fitness consumables?

The Serie A got quite a big update in regards to skill recently in H2H. Juan Cuadrado is now 5* (with Matias Fernandez at 5* that now means 2 for Fiorentina), and several others have been promoted to 4* - Guarin, Kovacic, Zuniga, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah, El Sharaawy and Balotelli have all been upped as of recent. One other Brazilian in the Liga do Brazil also got upped to 5*, Everton Ribeiro of Cruzeiro. However a lot of Brazilians have lost their 5* similar to what happened in the FIFA 13 Winter update - Wallyson, Maikon Leite, Morais to name a few have lost their 5*s, among others who had lost theirs earlier.
 
I really wonder why some of you play these games anymore...
I mean, if all that happens is "scripted" goals (called it) and other such nonsense, what keeps bringing you back...? Why would you willingly return to a game that, apparently, regularly causes you to want to break things?
 
Because the one game out of 10 that seems equal both ways is a blast. It just takes (for me at least) a couple of days of wading through bullcrap to get a game that isn't either completely gifted to me or the opponent.
