Just a note to say if anyone needs something from the EAS FC catalogue, for whatever mode, I'm happy to gift it to them. ;)
 
I'm not sure whether to buy now or wait.

Yay! I was researching how much Sau with a Hawk trait costs, and he was going for about 4,000. Someone put one up for 2,200 and I got it! That never happens.

I'm going to start counting how many times the opponents' players freeze when I hit L1+triangle and I sprint to the goal. I'm currently at zero, waiting for the repayment of the two times per game my defense stands still.

Overall, EA could have screwed me over more. The theme from today is that Hernandez is unbelievably OP and I can almost tell at midfield if an opponent's move will score a goal. Eagerly awaiting this first patch.

Ah, yes. I forgot about this. I win a tough 1-0 game to secure the D6 title. As I'm advancing back to the menu, it disconnects me. If EA cheats me out of my win again, I'm considering taking the effort to write them a letter. This did not happen after Christmas in 13.

I'm down 5-0 at halftime after conceding 5 headers and I hit the post six times in the half. I don't mind losing, but I mind losing when I'm not actually losing.

I go up 2-0 on good goals, and get beat on 3 headers in stoppage time. Notice how many times the word header appears in this post. It seems as if EA wants me to stay in D5.

Ended the evening with a draw off of a late goal. I go down 1-0 after another crap header and get 15 or 16 shots on goal before one rolls in after some nice hold up play in stoppage time. I bought a bunch of managers to get my contract bonus, so that'll pay for itself eventually.

Well there is another glitch and of course people are exploiting it. Sometimes consumables duplicate when you buy them so as a result all the chemistry cards have dropped in price big time, so if you need any, now is the time to buy before EA fix the glitch and the prices go back up.
 
That was convenient. Got a Hunter for Ibarbo, and a Catalyst each for Armero and Cuadrado for 950 each.

I want to buy Balotelli, but I don't know whether he would replace Giovinco, Sau, or Ibarbo.

I think my primary use of PS4 Share button will be to make a compilation of EA Scripting moments and see how much attention I can get for it.

Good shout. Picked up 14 Hunter cards for 550 and they're already back to 2.5k.👍
 
I have 6 Hunters, an Anchor and an Engine. I think its cheaper to buy players with the traits already applied, so I'll try to sell those soon. I should have bought more.

I lost to a guy with Demichelis at the back. I don't understand.

I didn't even take advantage of it myself that much either, just bought some for some players that needed them, can't motivate myself to trade either for some reason.

Think I'm sort of used to the game now, going to see by going online properly next week.
 
Still unbeaten in ultimate team :D A friend of mine with a BPL team, all the big players and 100 chemistry tried playing my team (I wasn't playing, he played my team controlled by a computer) and couldn't even win.

I am ever so slowly saving up for some big Spanish names, although it takes so damn long to get any coin together it may take a while.
 
You can't motivate yourself to trade? Not everyone has that talent/patience, don't squander it! :lol:
 
I went and started a career mode with PSV. Unfortunately I drew so many games that I ended up well below where I should have been. However, I did manage to take a superb 5-0 win, which I was sure would give the board more confidence towards me. In fact, they gave me so much that they sacked me within 2 days of the result.

I didn't save after the sacking. In all probability I am now probably stuck in an endless loop in my main save where I will be constantly sacked forever.

I'll have to start again. I hadn't even gotten to December 2013 in my save anyway. But I did make some fair observations for next time, and noted some good players throughout.
 
Finally that miserable season is over. 0-1-7.

I'd say out of the 20 goals conceded in that run, two were with the feet. One of those was after a string of unrealistic tackles that walked him to a one on one.

My favorite part of the season was playing a crappier version of my team, except his versions of my players were outstanding and mine did squat. Inspiring.

Scored an awesome FK. But it wasn't enough to overcome two pointless headers from the opposition. 0-1-8 on the day. Beyond disgusted with how EA has set UT up.

EA tweeted that El Shaarawy now has 4* skills in CM, H2H, and Seasons. They also said he could be upgraded in FUT at a later date... Are they actually going to do skill upgrades this year?
 
They'd update that before they made gameplay fair.

Hey, I actually competed in a game. Needless to say, I was winning and EA froze my defenders in the 90' to tie the game, but my problem isn't that; it was the competition.

I have gotten my rear end waxed by the crappiest teams all freaking day, and EA decides to let me have a chance against a team with people like IF Lewandowski, Reus, Schweinsteiger and Götze. I WANT to lose against teams like that (if I have to lose). I am outmatched and outclassed. That's fair. What's not fair is getting beaten by a bunch of crap players because EA is trying to boost the ego of some 12 year olds and get some FIFA point money out of that.

That's what happens when you get no wins, 2 draws and a double digit number of losses out of a day, pure and utter frustration.
 
Before yesterday, I had been somewhat okay with it. I'd probably win half the time. Yesterday was just blatantly stacked against me.

I think its because its a weekend. It seems to happen every weekend.

Is the thing happening to you guys where there's a loose ball but your player won't move while the other team gets it? It happened some last year but it happens on almost every loose ball now.

I want to play with more of a holding style, so this is the most strength-whore team I could muster.

It gets harder every year, those damn autobuyers spoil it. I only had like 25k too (I have 19 coins right now), need to get more to have a half Man Utd, half other team to play online with and then probably a cheap team too.

I have all the Man Utd players bar the two bronzes but don't want to use a full team online as it's a bit boring.

I've actually gotten a couple of good deals on players I wanted to buy, nothing that I could make a profit off of though.

I normally buy whole teams at once, I may do this strength team one player at a time to see if I can get a deal. With that said, I don't know if I'll have the patience :lol:.

I don't know what this damn game wants from me. Not a lot gets under my skin, but when I make a team just like the ones that beat me into the ground I magically start getting run over by what I had.

And just by the way, I take back absolutely everything I said about last year's game. At least last year there was some kind of reward for abusing the system, now whenever I get a shot the CBs sprout turbo boosters out of their rear ends and block every chance or the keeper turns into Jesus Christ incarnated as a goalie.

Only thing they need to nerf is the heading and finesse shots. Then you have a really game.

Noticing that I have to play on World Class rather than Legendary on this game as well. FIFA 13 was rather easy on Legendary but, I'm finding World Class on 14 quite difficult.

Patch coming this week will apparently sort out the heading and finesse shots.
 
I'm trying to think about why I'm failing so hard at the game so far. I can't think of a team that will give me a better chance to win.

Maybe I should just try to make an excessively awesome team? Within affordability, I think Cavani may be my best option.

...I won. 5-0. You guys may want to go stock up on bread and water, I think the end times are approaching. Even more surprising, my defenders moved when I asked them to and I even think one of the five goals was my doing and not a lucky bounce.

I like career mode a lot more this year. The AI seems much more competitive on lower difficulties, and can actually pass. Transfers are a lot better, and it's nice to see that defenders actually have value now.

Can anyone tell me how free transfers work though? Am I able to talk to any player that has a contract expiring in 6 months?
 
Thinking of trading a few games and picking this up tomorrow. Tell me what I'm going to get pissed about upon playing the game at first, so I know if it's really worth it.

I've had a bit of a taste, and it felt awfully slow, pace abuse doesn't work anymore thank goodness, and, but first touches seemed worse, and I couldn't find a way to score, though I'm never the type to cross.

I'm hearing that defenders are absolutely retarded now when the ball floats into the box, and that it's all about headers and strength now.
 
You'll be pissed that you can't score. Every good move I have is stopped by a seemingly elastic goalkeeper and my only goals are totally unrewarding ones that I didn't earn.

Also, I've seen more goals on the scoreline with 45' and 90' next to them than I remember seeing from Christmas onwards last year, which is even more fun.

And by the way, that one win was not sustained. I hate EA.

However, today was nowhere near as bad as this weekend. I felt like I deserved the wins I got and deserved the losses I got. I actually had fun, so that says a lot compared to this weekend. One of my skill runs actually got past the keeper too, two Berba spins in the box without a fantastic save.

I could make a pretty impressive French team with Cavani in it with mostly players under 3k each.

So then, after a bit of time with it in FUT:

Through balls seem very broken, both in terms of power and direction. Bounce off the pitch has changed so over the top through balls are difficult to time.

Heading is very overpowered.

What have they done to player switching? I cannot find the right combination of settings to make this bearable. I'm finding this the worst part of the game this year so far.

General changes to FUT are good, no formation cards. Different player styles work nicely. Re-list all button for the transfer list is good as is a player name search function. Though would be nice to be able to search by specific statistics.
 
IF Rodriguez looks fantastic. I think if I have amywhere the amount of money I have last year, Ligue 1 may be the best bang for your buck.

First game in 2 days. Up 1-0, lose 2-1 after two goals in the 90'. I don't know what I did to some member of the EA family, but they're sure getting vengeance.

I really hope that they understand that going 2-1-7 in Division 5 is NOT FUN. I also hope they realize that playing an entire game on Ultra Attacking yielding zero shots on goal is also not fun. Its not fun when you have no control of the outcome. Its pissing me off that they actually made a worse game.

I won... 5 times in a row. I don't even want to think about the kind of losing streak I have coming to balance that out. I have 4 shots to win the title, the first was already lost.

A couple of games with the new patch. Didn't get much of a chance to play with the through balls, but heading and the defender switching is so much better.

One big bonus of the Russian PL is being able to build a decent team on the cheap. Kokorin is good up front, yet to do much with Doumbia, but the team is gelling nicely. 4-3-1-2 is my settled formation. Got same league back-ups in all position now except for keeper, am thinking of bringing in Akinfeev with a Glove card on him.
