Great! Now I feel bad that I am only one of about 3 or 4 people on this thread that has gotten into a few fights.
I'm not voilent or anything(a little hotheaded at times) it's just where I grew up. I grew up in Flint, MI and hung out a lot in Detroit on the weekends at the different clubs. If you know anything about Flint then you would understand. Unemployment is very high.The crime rate is even higher. I remember during my Highschool years Flint had one of the highest crime rates per capita in the nation for years. It seemed like everyone I knew was taking some kind of boxing or martial arts training at the Y or a local club. I moved from there and into a small town on the west side of the state and left all that crap behind me.

To the people that have gotten into their share of scuffles:
Was it mostly(or at least partially) due to the area you grew up in also?
 
I've been in very few fights and i know of one where a girl beat the pus out of me. (yes, i am that weak!)

I don't like fighting and don't even like swearing.
 
I've only been in one fight I couldn't manage to back down from:

I was in 8th grade, and in drawing class. Now, about 1/3 the class is actually working on drawing (a good way to relax and not think too hard, chit-chat at the table, et cetera). And the other 2/3 was goofing off in some way or another; they didn't care because the grade didn't count towards anything. Well, a kid at the table next to me was a pain in my side for about a month...too noisy, taking things like pens and pencils, in your face about everything but what the rest of us were talking about.

So I'm drawing a large-scale Mustang 5.0 (we had to englarge a magazine pic no larger than 2x3 inches) and render it to a standard posterboard size. I was doing a fairly good job (I got an A+ on it later on), but that kid was picking up rubber bands and shooting them at people.

One band hit me lightly. I said, "Grow up and go away". Then another one hit me. This time I grabbed the bag of rubber bands from him, but he had more in his hand. I said, "You'd better quit it!" and stood up. He hit me point blank with a flung rubber band at my arm. That stung...and that did it. You just don't interrupt a man's artwork.

I went straight at him, punching him square in his left cheek. Before I could imagine what happed next from that, he threw me into a set of lockers. I felt the slam, and was stunned for a moment (everything was quite a visual blur at this point). He was going to hit me again, so I punched him with the toughest Mike-Tyson-of-a-punch to the stomach. He was winded, I tell ya.

I go to walk away, and he grabs my right leg. I trip and fall, but he's winded but crouching down. (I knew what it felt like to be winded, and it's just the worst possible feeling, isn't it?) So I get up and sock him another in the nose, and he's crying out loud.

Meanwhile, I'm just about to kick him, and three people wrestle me to the side (luckily, two of them are my friends). My adrenaline rush is making me go insane, and I'm red in the face. This one kid says, "Hey! You're insane! Chill out, dude!" My freinds are just laughing, they didn't think I had it in me.

Some other nameless people are holding my foe upright, and we're actually facing each other face to face, but about 10 feet apart. The art teacher steps in the middle of us, where there's now plenty of room, and says, "STOP IT! BOTH OF YOU!" and I'm forced into a seat.

The assisitant principal rushes in with a "resourcse officer" and asks if everyone was okay. I have a cut on my arm, and he's got a red mark where I hit him. Everything's settled down, and we're marched down to the principal's office.

I got a detention (the second and last one I ever received), and he got a detention and a 3-day suspension. The funny thing was, we both had to serve them together, after school. It was for 30-minutes, and then were just talking about this and that. Funny, we had a little more respect for one another when it was all said and done; we even joked about it later in the year.

It worked out for the better; I'd always had to back down from a fight or some such situation beforehand, but nobody ever picked on me after that. And everyone I knew in 8th grade talked about that fight for the next two weeks...so it sure was fun being popular for 10 days!
 
speaking of fights, i got into one yesterday,on my 3rd day of school:lol: Some guy thought he was tuff and tried to pick up my lady friend, so i told him to back off and he sucker punched me,so naturally, i gave him the beating of his life.i ended up knocking out one of his teeth and messing up my hands pretty bad.oh well, that'll teach him to act tuff.
 
Only one kid was ever stupid enough to start a fight with me. And the school kicked him out, because they feared for his safety. He had an anger management problem, and the school figured if he was stupid enough to pick a fight with me, I'm one huge, strong dude, he shouldn't be in a public school at all. No joke.

He came to our school from a boarding school. He went there for fighting his sixth grade class. Not certain classmates, the whole class! Enough said.
 
I'm a bigger guy (5'11, 185lbs and in good shape) so I don't get in many fights now, when I was younger and considerably smaller I would get it quite a few fights, but they were never very serious since I was around 12 years old. The only fights I get into now are fights my friends have started.

:eek: Oh my god, i've had a fight like that. let me tell everyone the story since we're still on topic.


Ok. This was freshman year at my high school. At the time this happened alot of new people were coming to our school but this one certain guy (named kevin). And of course he starts talking **** about THE hottest girl at the time calling her a slut whore etc. Then again the girl was tough. so she could probably kick his ass...anyway i decided to do it and I wound up giving im a black eye and a cracked rib (luckily noone noticed that so i got off pretty easy because it was a hairline.) not only that the girl (named nikki) became a best friend to me.:D

Any questions/comments?
 
I've only ever had one proper fight. I usually manage to get out of them be agreeing to everything thay say, which confuses most people. Or simply outsmarting them: if someone calls me a b*st*rd then I always reply "No, my parents were married when I was born." A b*st*rd is actually a person whose parents weren't married when they were born. If someone calls me anything offensive at all, I pretend not to hear them, and ask them to repeat. That usually gets a response of a mutter and they give up and go away, or if they do say whatever they said again, then I just agree. Thus a fight is avoided. Works for me every time.
 
Never lost, never ran. Even if I knew I would get my arse whooped I wouldn't run, its just not my style. I dont go looking for fights but I will defend myself.
