What exactly does final drive ratio mean?

Glossary: Final Drive Ratio
The gear ratio in a vehicle's differential. The ratio expresses the number of turns required by the pinion (which is attached to the output shaft of the transmission) to turn the drive axle one revolution, i.e. 2.73:1 means the pinion must turn 2.73 times to turn the drive axle once. A higher number means a lower (or shorter) gear. Short gearing gives quicker acceleration, but because the engine must turn faster, gas mileage and top speed are lower. Tall gears give better acceleration and higher top speed, at the expense of acceleration.

Hmmm....if six gears is as high as it goes in GT3, why do they list a seventh gear on the tranny adjustment screen?

Hahaha Brian, I was thinking the same thing. Another confusing thing is when you look in the autotrader or newspaper for used cars. A lot of times in the ads it will say 'female driven' like it's a good thing. No offense to all you females out there, but seriously, you all cannot drive. I have never ever had a wreck that was my fault, and the 5 that I've been in, a woman has caused it everytime. Maybe just a coincidence, but probably not.

How much bloody faster do you want your escudo to go:?:
it's already capable of speeds in excess of 800MPH:!:
And thats only when your going in a straight line about 2Km long (one straight on the Test Course), personally that will be the only course my 'scud will be racing!!

Yeah...I think to be totally fair, you have to realize that gender has nothing to do with driving skill (or a distinct lack thereof). I've seen idiot woman motorists and idiot male motorists...and done a few idiotic things myself.

The only thing that grinds me is that women automatically get a better insurance rate...I have a clean record (except for one ticket) and my insurance almost DOUBLED when I got my new car (a '98 Integra RS as opposed to a '91 Tercel). The 'Teg is a far more capable car, sure, but I was already paying quite a bit for the Tercel.

Sorry to rant...just a sticking point for me.

No joke, risingson. I know younger females (about 16-17) who have been in 4 wrecks that are all their fault and their insurance actually hangs on to them. I hear that insurance is on the rise for females, but I have yet to see any numbers on this one.
