Hey never got a chance to play any of the final fantasy games, I want to go out and buy one out of all of them which one is the best?

Depends on what consoles you have.

For PS1 the majority would say FF VII, I personally like FFVIII equally, maybe a bit more.

For PS2 FFX imo

Or you can wait for the FFX remake for the PS3 that was anounced a while ago, I know I will. In meantime FFXIII is nice to keep you busy

I haven't played earlier FF games so someones else may fill you in on that.

I have ever playstation consle and they have made heaps of final fantasy games haha but yeh I'll probably just wait for the remake

If you have to buy 1, id suggest FFX on the PS2. Its accessible enough for you to quickly get into but deep enough to keep you going for a long time. I play a runthrough of it once every blue moon. FFXIII is good but its been too over simplified compared to its forebears..

He wants to buy one out of all of them

>_>

Reading comprehension fail. Thanks for pointing it out.

Buy FFVII. It's on the PS Store and generally claimed as one of the best games of all times. Personally I share this opinion and have played it many, many times.

XII is probably the best game, even if some of the characters have no real place in the story, which is very political.

X is okay. The voice-acting can be horrible at times (like the infamous laughter scene), and a lot of people want to punch Tidus.

IX is underrated; it has a great story, but if you don't balance your characters out, the last few hours can be daunting.

VIII has a vague plot and unlikeable characters, but the game mechanics are hyper-flexible.

I don't think I can pick a single one to best express the series. I started with VII so it's sentimental, but it had flaws. I dislike VIII the most for a couple reasons: it tried to be too realistic with the people and design and I hated the draw system. It was fine for beefing up the characters but magic really should use MP. The one I enjoy going back to most is X because I love the battle system. The Sphere Grid knocks it down some because it's so linear and I think Summons should be just a single powerful attack instead of becoming the main fighter. I liked XII but never got around to finishing it because I didn't feel like starting over on my PS3 and couldn't be bothered to go back to the PS2. Again it had a clunky leveling system but it was a bit more forgiving than the Sphere Grid. I enjoyed XIII despite all the perceived flaws and thought it didn't deserve a lot of the criticism. It's definitely not one that I would recommend to a FF noob though. Even though it's fundamentally the same, it's vastly different than previous titles. I left out IX because it's the one I enjoyed the most as a whole so it's last. The characters and story was engaging, the leveling/crystal system was good, the tried and true battle system was there with some tweaks, and the mini games were fun. The problem is the games are so alike, yet so different...and they're evolving again with XIII-2 and Vs XIII. If you've got the time and the money I think you'd be served well to try at least VII, IX, X and XII. I don't think you'd have much trouble getting all of them for less $ than a new PS3 game.

FFXIII is good but its been too over simplified compared to its forebears..

X111 essentially plays like this. Long cutscene. Start walking. Long cutscene... Long cutscene... Long cutscene... Bathroom break while the cutscene is still going on. End of cutscene... Now it's time to battle :). X x x x x x x x, change paradigm, x x x x x x, change paradigm, x x x x x x x. Battle over. Short cutscene... Wow, this area looks beautiful, short cutscene... Boss battle.... Still boss battle... Still boss battle... still boss battle... still boss battle... still boss battle. Kill boss. Long cutscene... Long cutscene. Wow, this area is beautful too... Long cutscene... Battle... x x x x x x x x x, change paradigm, x x x x x x x x, change paradigm, x x x x x x x x x x x x x x change paradigm, x x x x x x x x x x x , change paradigm, x x x x x x x x x change paradigm, x x x x x x x x x, change paradigm. I won.

Wow this area is stunning... Walk, walk, walk, long cutscene, long cutscene. Boss battle. Wow, that thing is huge. x x x x x x x x x x, change paradigm, x x x x x x x x x, change paradigm, x x x x x x x x (1 hour later) x x x x x x x x x x x , change paradigm, x x x x x x x x, he's almost dead. x x x x x x x x. Great, now I'm dead, that was a cheap shot.

Back to start of boss battle. *eject disk*

*Plays Obivion instead.*

XII is probably the best game
