Finally I did! AMG Beginner Sector 4

I got gold but I suffered too much in this race. Finally I did. Please share your tips and advice for race 5 in the AMG beginner.

Here is my video AMG beginner race 4:

Settings:

All assists OFF
ABS:1
Automatic Transmission
SIXAXIS
X Button: Throttle
Square Button: Brake

 
Do not expect to reach gold for the race at the first go!

Listen to the advice GT5 gives you, I believe it is called example.

You need to remember the points that made you make the time in the sectors separately and try to integrate them in a full round. Go back to the sectors if you have trouble with them.

Although you do not need to get the gold time on all the sectors, you need to be quite close to it. Important is to be able to do the whole race at a fairly high pace without losing it.
 
No tips, no advice, just keep pushing yourself and the car. I settled on Silvering all the AMG Challenges, Golded a few on the way.

Have you tried switching your brake and accelerator to L2 & R2 respectively..?? I race exactly the same as you do, SixAxis, ABS1, everything else off.

Can't see your vid due to work firewall, will have a look when I get home. The last sector was always my poorest. I used to hate this track, but this Challenge taught me what I needed to know. I can now post reasonably fast laps around here and tend to only find myself on the green stuff due to lapses in concentration or getting a bit keen :trouble:

Thank you all for sharing your ideas and advices about race 5. I will keep focus on them. The problem is I make the races much more harder than anybody because of using SIXAXIS-AT and X-Square button combination. But I don't used to use MT.

i mean its fine to use a DS3 but dont use the sixaxis feature! ur shooting urself in the foot, hit the dpad

O okay, well i use the stick, not stig or ''stick'' but dpad is to hard and slow for me, and sixaxis is indeed stupid, well unless you like F1 so much and you can't get a F1 wheel
 
I had all silvers on all on these challenges, but then golded all of them after i wanted to unlock some photo mode locations! The result one photomode location unlocked :grumpy:!

But my advice would be to try using the sticks, its a whole lot more easier varying the power rather than the buttons and don't push too hard because thats when you start to go of the track and crashing into guardrails and cars, when causes you to lose seconds which maybe 1 second slower than your previous best at one point but when you get to the finishing line its gone up to 6 seconds and you've missed gold by the smallest of margins!

and one other piece of advice, is that mark a reference point at various checkpoints i.e the time that pops up on your best run and then compare it to the other runs (the times that pop up in blue or red) you do so you can tell how good your pace is compared to other runs, like Vince said. i did that i was like 8 seconds faster than the gold time!

oh and try it on manual and with the TCS on 1 or 2 to stop the sliding out and you can plant the power on full as soon as you come out the corner!

There's nothing wrong with a SixAxis controller, nor using auto transmission. I drive exactly the same as you do, except I use L2 & R2 for brake and accelerator. I also use the left stick for steering. I'm not the fastest driver, but my times are comparable to others using DS3s and wheel/pedal combos.

Ok guys, I have finished race 5 with a time of 8:47.080 and all races are gold with this result. Beginner level of AMG is currently finished. Lets do next level:)

It seems you did the license tests with 6-axis all gold, then this should be possible too. Be aware that most believe golding the next level is the most difficult of all (on full lap) AMG academy events. You might want to spend some extra time on sector 2 and 3 for the GTP_registry qualifier.

Yes I have done all license tests gold with SIXAXIS-AT and X, square combination. Now I've passed all races with gold in AMG driving academy except intermediate last race. Only this race not finished. Target time is 7:05.000 but I can do best 7:10.000

Any advice?
